- Mother Ship Notes:
- -PCs get signed up for a job on a scrapper vessel.
- -do some regular work, mainly finding work scrapping old satellites that are either obsolete, or have fallen out of orbit.
- -PCs get a destress call picking up a scrapped satellite that has veered way to far off course,
- -Go deeper into space to see what the destress call is about, if they try to contact the authorities, no one is around, all are dealing with an organized crime incident or weird space terrorist attack
- --a completely different part of space. (One of the bigger space stations, very high profile)
- -On board the ship, they find hostile robots, and weird hostile human/robot hybrids zombie types.
- --plenty of audio logs strewn around the ship? maybe?
- --traps / cameras, and lasers in the wall.
- --turns out the distress signal is being cast by a benevolent A.I. who's motivation are unknown to the PCs.
- ---Erasure of all human life, anything not mechanically produced is too flawed to exist.
- ---Benevolent A.I. Needs more flesh to create soldiers out of.
- ---"If you hate humans so much, why use them as soldiers?" a PC might ask. Carbon based reaeration/healing is a coveted system by this AI. It's the sentients and consciousness parts
- ---They're not really into.
- ---4 different goals of the PCs might take:
- 1.disable The ships A.I. at it's source.
- 2.disable the systems that allow the A.I. to send the distress signal.
- 3.Destroy all Conversion cells responsible turning people into borg-like hivemind.
- 4.escape the ship so that the authorities can be alerted to the hostile threat.
- 5. take all the valuable scrap from the ship, and leave the rest for some other people to deal with.
- while 2 and 3 are fixable by the A.I. through repair systems, it will slow down their goal, and make it more likely that space authorities will show up in time.
