Vampire Raid

[19:02] {NARRATION} Once more do the forces of Dawn, now backed up by those of Crafthold, push into Baukdengrad. Combat spills out amongst the non magi, with the magi swiftly following suit. Backed into a corner, the Vampires waste no time in trying to retaliate. Blood stains the bright snow red.

[19:11] "Another day, another batch of intruders." Jack sighed in annoyance. Yes, he was aware that the vampires were cornered, but he was just a thrall. All he cared about now was his master's blood to stave off the addiction.

Jack grabs his mithril blade and heads out into the snow, spotting one of the raiding party magi that had come to strike once more. So this is what it was like to be on the other end of Dawn's raids.

There was a time Jack had fought against the vampires, it was a familiar sight. "Let's get this over with so I can get a drink." Jack grunted as he started to form runes with his mana that when completed, created billows of raging molten lava under his feet as the earth and snow cracked open and melted away.

He took his stance, ready for yet another fight.

[19:16] The snowy terrain was almost beautiful until the realization that this was the area of a battleground. The raid was a simplistic thing and attacking another land, place, even person was still an awkward thing for the youth. Especially when these things had to be done in earnest. A long sigh escaped from her as the opponent revealed himself standing in the distance for a while before he approached and activated the magma elemental magic. The youth blinked a few times and pulled the staff off of her back in almost disbelief.

"Mr. Veteran. We sparred in the dojo, I didn't think that they...."

She closed her eyes for a moment as her cheek marks shined a brilliant white reflecting the snow and mana coursed through her body triggering many outlets on her magical circuits. "I'm not holding back at all. I'm going to bring you down for Yuki's sake." The girl nodded her head and span the staff within her fingertips calling upon the mana within her vocal chords. "Ocean's Embrace." Upon doing so the water in the air would cascade into a torrent flowing about her and restoring her energy.

[19:21] It was the girl from the dojo. He remembered her from Huah. She was following the same path as Jack then, tagging along behind Dawn while serving another country.

"Long way from Huangzhou." He said as his burning molten rock started to carve a path towards Igleta. His wounds had been healing since that fight and with how much easier it was for him to move and strike he had surpassed her from those days.

He slammed the hilt of his sword into Igleta's forehead before delivering a flame covered foot into the centre of her chest to send them skidding back.

"Yuki? Oh, got something of his here." He said, sheathing the mithril sword to show off another. A blade Yuki carried with him. "Go on, try and take it. Maybe it will make you fight harder for it.

[19:29] Igleta skid on the ground backwards after the foot slammed into her chest. An explosion of magma magic preceded this action and the snow was the best thing she had felt in a while. The steam raised into the air as her water magic and the snow worked in tandem to remove the deep burning from her body as she pushed herself off of the ground and stared at Jack as she spoke about Yuki. Her eyes raised and bulged as the male pulled out the blade that Yuki carried within his hand.

Biting down on her bottom lip Igleta began to calling in the cosmic energies about her form. There was no way that Jack should have had Yuki's weapon unless. "So it was you, Veteran? You killed Yuki?" She screamed at the man before spinning her staff within her hands and relying on her Symbolic Magic more than her Wordcasting method. A bright light would exude from the girl as she gripped the staff with both hands and crystal clusters began to form about the field.

"Fine, then. I'm not playing with you anymore, Mr. Veteran. I hate fighting people, I hate having to do bad things. Then there's people that do bad things and force me to have to fight in earnest." She stated to him before raising a crystal coating around her staff and holding it like a harpoon. "I will take it from you."

[19:36] "Wasn't me. Just got the hand me down." HE confessed, but he still was holding that sword. In fact, he was wielding it along with the mithril blade now in the fight.

His flames helped him close distances along with his Ookami speed. And as he got closer, he came down hard with both blades, favouring the sword from the late Yuki to inflict more emotional blows along with physical ones.

He was becoming as sadistic as a vampire the longer he served under them. Eventually he may be too far gone to save. He closes the battle with a single line.

"Enjoy the parting gift." He coldly states as he plants the sword straight into Igleta's armour. But the blow was only enough to break through and get it stuck. A scar at best he'd leave behind.

Finally, he delivered one final swipe of his mithril sword's blunt edge to send her flying down into the snow below. She got away with her life and a fancy new memento of Yuki. All and all not the worst of trades.

[19:37] {Item} You picked up Giga Scythe. Dropped by Jack Lorden. .
[19:45] The young girl would hold her staff valiantly as Jack came down with both Yuki's blade and his own mythril blade. Using mainly Yuki's blade had earned him the deserved results. Her mind lingered on her time with the bow with each connection that the blade made with her. Despite how many times she tried to wrap him up in her magic she would find herself defenseless to yet another attack. Suddenly, he spoke to her and as she turned around a blade stabs straight through her armor.

She is met with only the sight of the snow and the trees and the distance as the weapon tears through her armor and pierces into her flesh bad enough to leave a scar. The scar itself would grow into a large flower shaped piercing. Of which exact design was simply impossible to determine. A chilling scream is let out from the girl as the blow connects and she swipes her with the blunt edge of his mythril sword. The girl would collapse off the side of the hill and fall into the pile of snow down below. She hadn't been fatally wounded or even injured beyond the scarring. Yet the blows to her mind would linger for much more time to come. After all, the blade of Yuki was lodged into her.

[19:56] {NARRATION} The combat is fierce, and when the smoke finally clears and the forces of Dawn and Crafthold pull out, the battlefield is a wreckage of undead and thralls. Though no vampires nor magi are captured in the combat, checking their prisons, it would appear that a few soldiers managed to infiltrate the Vampire's fortress and rescue a single prisoner, the neries Morrana Coza.

No caps, no deaths. Morrana Coza has been rescued.

[20:09] This wasn't an easy raid, but so far, it's been fairly successful.

As a matter of fact, Arthur's Undead soldiers manage to bring Morrana from the captivity- the duo of Knights carry her by arms and legs and follow Arthur suit. He briefly turns to the people that have arrived; while it's quite the disappointment that no Vampire was slain today, at the same time, it's a good thing that none of them died.

"Good job, everyone. I'll be bringing Morrana to Iosefka."

Just before he would leave, the Adjudicator turns to the people once more, adding a single thing.

"--And we're declaring full-scale war on Vampires."

[20:13] As everyone got back to town, Katrin sat on the ground. The travel, the fighting, it all took a toll on her, she had numerous cuts on her face and arms from the enemy soldiers constantly attacking her, and her face was stained with blood, this raid was clearly more bloody than the last that she'd been at.

Once they had fully arrived back in Dawn, Katrin looked over towards Igleta and Astaria, she slowly blinked and it almost looked like she gazed directly through them. her mind was unfocused right now, she didn't feel the urge to talk, she just slowly headed home.

[20:18] As they had returned to Dawn, her attention was stolen by Arthur, who had been speaking to the people. A simple nod was made as a response, the Inquisitor exhaling softly as she relaxed once more, now that they were back home; at the end, she's always known it'd come to this, a full scale war. Necessary, perhaps, but regrettable that it was necessary in the first place.

Her silvery eyes shifted towards Igleta and Katrin, who had participated in the march. Her children, now participating in battles; there were mixed feelings of pride, that they were growing up, and a burden, that they'd be in danger. Her eyes scanned them, as if to confirm that they were fine, as a warm smile spreads across her lips; she wouldn't speak to them here, but rather follow them on the way home, with a hand brought to Igleta's shoulder, gently resting it there as Astaria nodded at them both, perhaps to reassure them.

[20:19] Hands folded over crossed legs, she watches and she waits for the return of the many marched off into battle with soft a smile and placated a demeanor.

It'll be nice, for the brief moments that the square explode into life. Tradition life, rather than undead life, mind you. And when they return, it's almost exactly as she had both hoped and expected. Victory, proclamation, and more forward progress towards ridding of their problems.

" Wonderful news, that. I wonder if I'll be fit and capable to aide in a final push, or if it will all be over too quickly. "

[20:22] Ayano Kirigaia exclaims, "Mom!"
[20:23] Dawn was a sight for sore eyes at this point. The rather chaotic nature of its existence and the Arcane variety of magics utilized within the territory. Compared to that place where the Vampires and Ghouls roamed, it was a paradise. She didn't have anything to say but she walked with an immense red blade within her hands and cracked armor. Those eye generally filled with light were somewhat lacking until the touch a hand rested on her shoulder.

Glancing back Igleta would give a smile to Astaria. There wouldn't be any injuries, but there was a nasty piercing that tore directly through the back of her armor. A deep sigh is taken as the head nod is given she would look back forward and following along with Astaria and Katrin. Hopefully there really was some kind of hope in the future.
