The aliens claim they want to restore the human species, but the reborn humans uncover new dangers, hidden agendas and powerful secrets that challenge that claim and threaten to annihilate the human race all over again.
- Light religiousity, sexism, & ageism, all by 21:30 of episode 1. Overall, it's clichéd and banal, littered with the typical "for humanity," "for love," and "for family" tropes as the only motivations to achieve anything, or take action for any reason.<br/><br/>Husband Man is always savior-hero, and Wife Woman is always on the verge of emotional outbursts. It's tiresome to even address the issues of sad gender roles and cultural pigeon-holing in this thing.<br/><br/>It's suffering from borrowed ideas in more than a few ways. The skin-riders have a weapon that looks like the Goa'uld Cho'laar (or the Ma'Tok) staff seen in Stargate SG1. The glowing back of the neck/spine with a "companion" controlling presence is familiar from Falling Skies.<br/><br/>It's ridiculous that an alien-based, semi-intelligent character would be sneering remarks about something being "centuries beyond your understanding WOMAN!" Ung, cringe-worthy writing abounds.<br/><br/>The editing/storyline is often choppy. It jumps right from a near-death scene straight to everything's a-O.K. The narrative is the same: 1) we shouldn't separate, 2) where is he? Oh, he scouted ahead. Also, the stupid orbs are constantly creating the very problems they then purport to fix.<br/><br/>The music isn't great. Much of the writing and acting is unsophisticated, but not all bad all the time. Still, it's jarring that some versions of acting are equated to YELLING AGGRESSIVELY WITH EYES BULGING!!!! <br/><br/>As the series goes on, everyone reborn 400 years in the future is suddenly outfitted in dyed furs and leathers (even suede!) with buckles, rivets, sashes, straps, polyester shearling linings, boots with treads. Oh, and a bunch of forged weapons, and perfect hair in the forest. Yes, it's fictional, but come ON!
- This TV Series is the absolute worst thing on TV. I am a HUGE FAN of Science Fiction and came across this under the SYFY catogory. I tried to watch it but could only make it to the third episode. It seemed as though they could have really produced a good series if they had the budget. The lack of funding is obvious in the results. The acting is really, really bad. I believe the worst of them being the young lady playing Feena. I don't like to beat up on actor's and Actresses because they have to work with the script that they are given. The writing for this is bad which doesn't help bad acting. They mentioned Ender's Game in the description of the story line which I actually liked despite it's flop at the box office. Ender's Game should not be mentioned in the same breath with the poorly produced TV series. Final word, don't waste your time on this one.
