  3. Breaks
  4.
  5. - Require far more than a 7-8 hour allotted break per sleep to function correctly.
  6. No one is going to run at their most tired (last 7-8 hours of the day), jump straight into bed, sleep 7 hours, and immediately jump back out of bed and into the run.
  7.
  8. People are going to want to run at their most alert, which is usually a few hours after waking up, and then live out the rest of their day after pausing the timer to calm down, eat, relax, etc. This means on average a break for *one* sleep, in my eyes, has to be at least 13-14 hours.
  9.
  10. - Potential leeway on how the run is actually performed. Usually a long run requires 1 day booked off work, with sleep breaks it, typically is going to become 2. If a runner cannot ever book 2 days off work, they should be allowed some leeway to continue it the following week or at a later date when they have the appropriate time window. You cannot apply a competitive advantage like a 14 hour rejuvenation period and then just tell certain runners they don't get to utilize it due to their schedule alone.
  11.
  12. - Toilet and Food breaks shouldn't have smaller arbitrary windows like 10-15 minutes. If you need the toilet... you need the toilet, if you're hungry... you gotta eat. In the interest of health, I find it kind of asinine to implement breaks for the sake of health, and then apply small windows of time to tasks such as these.
  13.
  14. In my eyes, breaks should be allowed whenever required and for a decently appropriate level of time, with discretion. You clearly aren't going to want people taking liberties and just breaking for silly things, but the idea you're going to want runners to be literally wolfing their food down to fit an arbitrary break length that's rather small is... well, silly and also unhealthy. Same with the toilet; not every visit is gonna be a piss.
  15.
  16. - Moderation side of things needs to be considered. There needs to be stuff in place to prevent people rolling back failed 2nd halves post-break and things of that nature. There needs to also be zero requirement for runs to be streamed after the fact as a lazy way around this. You cannot apply a competitive advantage on the basis some people "don't get" to be competitive via a nonexistent rule, and then ostracize some people who cannot acquire strong internet to handle consistent streaming via a literal rule.
  17.
  18. It's very possible to simply recommend people record the dead air in most cases, but in the case of the previous point, people who cannot do two consecutive days due to schedule restrictions, would you require them to potentially record days of dead air.
