  1. [02:03] Eagleheart and the small scouting party roam and roam -- However, to the pair that accompanies him, it quickly becomes clear that he isn't going to simply patrol the lands around Huangzhou. No... That'd be, in his mind, the less counterproductive thing to do.
  2.
  3. Yet, what he does instead, is simply taking the fight to them. A bit more risky, but if the fight was against them, he was surely not allowing any of the other two to get captured. Someone this perverse must claim allegiance to one of these, in his mind: Dawn, Gaiar or the Vampires.
  4.
  5. Wandering through the snow fields between both exits of the same cave, the trio finally finds the man they've been looking for. Black clothes, black helmet...
  6.
  7. He whispers, quietly, to the duo behind him. "If we get outnumbered, run. I'll hold them back."
  8.
  9. "... Terror, I believe?" Eagleheart speaks, the hammer quickly coming to move around him. Almost the same posture as before, in fact. "Still hunting?"
  10. (Eagleheart)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [02:05] They were treading in foreign land.
  14.
  15. It was exhilarating, but also quite terrifying. She understood the reasoning perfect, however; they never found anything on their home territory, so of course, they had to venture just a tad bit farther than they normally would. Hours likely pass as they travel, but eventually? They find someone.
  16.
  17. A wanderer.
  18.
  19. Black clothing, helmet.
  20.
  21. The young woman is instantly put on guard; her hand goes to the handle of her blade and pulls slightly, brandishing a part of the metal without fully withdrawing the blade itself. Eagleheart's whispers are regarded with quick nods.
  22.
  23. This was happening.
  24. She might actually get into a genuine combat scenario.
  25. (Mei Xiang)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [02:09] Yesiria had been in this situation before. This was not new to her. While she wasn't quite sure if this was the vampire they were looking for, but evidence was stacked against him, certainly. It was an interesting idea, the roles were reversed from her younger years - where she was in the opposite scenario. Two vampires and a demon... against her. She still remembered the pain from the injuries that left her scarred.
  29.
  30. She did not speak, she simply remained slightly behind Eagleheart. There was no reply, physical or verbal to his whispers. It didn't seem she intended to lose out on a fight, even if it escalated to unwinability.
  31.
  32. Her hand was now on the halberd that rest on her back, although she did not quite draw it just yet. She was waiting for a proper signal to attack.
  33. (Yesiria)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [02:16] "The Blind Boy."
  37.
  38. A distorted voice came from within the cold, black helmet, it's dark gaze shifting to meet the mask's own, knowing full well the face behind it couldn't see him. Eagleheart may even recognize that familiar, horrendous corruption that seemed to emanate from the night, as well as the still, cold air that seemed to slow and plummet in temperature. Even for this far north, the cold was tangible.
  39.
  40. "Though you are not alone... It seems the numbers are not in my favor today." The Terror's patient hand rests on his hilt a moment before it moves to his side, as if to reach for something else. Within the confines of his billowing cloak any trained eye could see a swiftness potion as well as an elaborate explosive of sorts that the knight has brought with him.
  41.
  42. The gauntleted hand lingers there, but only for a moment, beforedrawing the cutlass out in full. The black, metal nyeshk of the blade begins collecting frost and particles of snow around it in a flurry, and like a whale breaching out of the ocean, pillars and jagged walls of ice soar toward the sky, forming an elaborate arena.
  43.
  44. "You're a bit farther north than you should be. Don't you know? This is a place of nightmares."
  45. (Night Terror)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [02:28] He knew it all along. It was the same one as before -- He didn't catch the name, but he knew for sure that was one of the Invidia brothers. His left hand was still lifted up slightly, as if beckoning the other two to hold back...
  49.
  50. This was, perhaps, something he wanted to do alone. A step was taken towards the vampire, crushing the snow underneath, the smooth movement muffled by the sheer volume of snow, and perhaps the smallest layer of ice that was formed on top of it.
  51.
  52. "I'd recognize that anywhere. Invidia..." He spoke, the sensation of Order slowly spreading throughout the environment. It seemed almost like scouting, as if he already prepared for the battle that for sure was to come soon enough.
  53.
  54. Upon hearing the soar of the ice forming the arena, the Order magi quickly grasped the floating hammer, moving it around carefully. "If this is a place of nightmares, Invidia... Let me say this."
  55.
  56. "We are the ones that will turn this into a nightmare to you." And quickly, his left hand released. It was almost like that-- He whispered towards the other two. "With me. Let's go."
  57. (Eagleheart)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [02:32] The sound of metal harshly sliding against the material of the sheathe is hard as Mei Xiang fully draws her odachi, it gleaming almost beautifully in the moonlight. Sticking particularly close to Eagleheart, she held her blade with both hands, her eyes never leaving Night Terror once. They were really going to fight it seemed.
  61.
  62. She gripped her weapon tightly.
  63.
  64. Her breathing was a bit heavy as well, caused by a mixture of fear and anticipation.
  65.
  66. All of her training lead up to this very moment. All of her talk of doing good and performing heroic deeds lead her to this.
  67.
  68. It was time to act, now.
  69. (Mei Xiang)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [02:36] Yesiria rapidly unsheathed her halberd at the words of Eagleheart, a trail of bright golden lightning trailing behind it as she slammed the blade into the snow, which seemed to rapidly melt it around its perimeter. She said, softly and without a hint of intent in her voice, almost as though she wasn't facing someone she had not an ounce of feeling but contempt for. It sounded like she was speaking to a small child whom she was trying to comfort to sleep.
  73.
  74. "Let's rid this place of one less unsightly stain."
  75.
  76. Her words didn't match her tone at all. It was really odd. She awaited the moves of Mei Xiang and Eagleheart before she began, however. Whispers to herself were uttered that caused the winds of the holy tempest to blanket her body and radiate light in the darkness of the snowy field.
  77. (Yesiria)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [02:42] "MONGRELS HUNTING IN PACKS!"
  81.
  82. A plume of snow erupted around the knight, sending a snowstorm whirling around the arena like a wintry hurricane. Though the flecks would not be kind flakes, but harsh, pelting shards of ice that sought to mar and tear the armor and clothes of the Terror's assailants.
  83.
  84. As Eagleheart spoke the knight's true name, a red glow lit from within the helmet, its dark eyes now bleeding a horrifying crimson light. As the wave and torrential swirl gave him the perfect moment to fire forward into the fray.
  85.
  86. Outnumbered, he roared out through the makeshift blizzard.
  87.
  88. "This continent will tear, it will break, and it will bleed. I will carve my name into its heart and it will forever know the Night."
  89. (Night Terror)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [02:45] ** Eagleheart has inflicted an injury upon Night Terror. ("Permanent Injury", "Permanent Injury", "Permanent", "Severity: MODERATE (-20 Vit)") **
  93. [02:55] It was no question as to the nature of the Terror now, given the heinous and unnatural strength and magic he wielded. Though facing impossible odds, he decided he would do nothing less that aim to injure or kill the hero who stood before him; a fellow mask across the land, though one who stood for all the opposites.
  94.
  95. Moving like a storm the cutlass is brought down upon Eagleheart, ignoring the other two he had brought with him entirely. The nyeshk blade seeks to dent and tear his armor, while the vampire himself reaches for with a talon-tipped gauntlet to gasp Eagleheart's shoulder. Ice spikes erupt to slow them all and as the Terror finally draws close to his nemesis, a blast of telekinetic force sends him rolling into one of the ice walls of the arena. The structure fractures and cracks, and as he prepares to charge the Seeker once more, he is instead met with the brunt end of the hero's hammer.
  96.
  97. In a wide flash of cosmic and holy light, the Terror's helmet is cast aside, while the cosmic and divine energies Eagleheart wields seep into his corrupt skin and face, leaving a behind and array of sparking lights that mark half of the vampire's face. His jaw is hanging loosely from his mouth, giving Malentine the expression of a slack-jawed snake, fangs out and loose while his tongue bleeds down his chin and into the whitened snow.
  98.
  99. Upon realizing he can no longer talk to due to the injury and coming to his senses about facing improbably odds, he quickly snatches his helmet back up and the rest of the arena shatters.
  100.
  101. These soldiers of the south have come too far north to handle the blizzard the elder vampire is capable of stirring, and thus they lose him in it. There's no call back, no mocking shout or monologue. All that remains it that howling wind that would last until long after the heroes had returned home.
  102. (Night Terror)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [03:02] Of course, Eagleheart ended up being the main focus of the vampire during the fight. He wanted it that way -- It was almost like he was purposefully throwing himself in harm's way, taking all the hits that he could instead of the other two.
  106.
  107. He had taken them there, and even if they might forgive him in case they ended up hurt, he wouldn't forgive himself. He knew he wouldn't, for he was the one to be blamed twice if that was to happen. And as such, he would accept nothing but certain victory.
  108.
  109. However, it is clear that the Telekinetic powers gave him the edge over the battle. The bite lands, yet it is not powerful enough to knock him down, instead only allowing for a very opportune strike to be taken, his enormous speed glowing with cosmic and holy magic.
  110.
  111. The hammer is held tightly, and even as the vampire moves away, Eagleheart seems ready to follow him, and even in the endless blizzard, he does. "Terror! I will find you again, I promise to all the gods who still watch over this cursed continent! And next time, only one of us will come out alive!"
  112.
  113. Yet, it tires him in due time. Even the strongest determination is mined by the strong cold winds, his armor now almost frozen entirely over the surface... And soon enough, he decides to call it for the day. It is better to live and try again soon, than do it now.
  114.
  115. "Let's go. We had our victory today... I know how to use that."
  116. (Eagleheart)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [03:10] Luckily for Mei Xiang, the force was not directed onto her, but onto Eagleheart instead. She naturally took advantage of the fact and swung her large blade with ferocity, landing a cut here and there, occasionally binding the vampire with sanctified earth, and providing whatever support she could for herself and her allies. Despite the fight being in their favor, Mei still felt fear for her life.
  120.
  121. But at the same time? That fear drove her to attack with her comrades, to not doubt her current mission and to fight, because her life quite literally depended on it.
  122.
  123. She nears the vampire and raises her blade high into the air, but as she slams it down to strike, the vampire is suddenly uprooted by an unseen, but familiar force. In an instance, it seemed her mentor ended the battle right then and there, cursing the vampire with some sort of combination of magic.
  124.
  125. After taking her place near her allies again, she looks upon the state of the undead creature with apparent disgust.
  126.
  127. It was pale.
  128. Red eyed.
  129. It's jaw was hanging loose, a gruesome sight.
  130. ...and they were pissed.
  131.
  132. This was a sight she would never forget, for good or worse. One thing was certain, though. She was familiar with the exhilaration of battle, now. Not only that, but she knew with absolute certainty that she would be able to will herself to fight again, with or without friends by her side.
  133. (Mei Xiang)
  134. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  135.
  136. [03:18] Yesiria brought her full arsenal to the battle, although she knew not to step between Eagleheart and the vampire, they seemed to have a venomous history indeed. However, during the battle, she kept her complete calm. It was certain that she had no fear at all of this vampire. Perhaps Eagleheart's presence and overall huge amount of power kept her from believing they even had a chance to lose - or perhaps she simply had no room left in her heart to fear death. It was not certain.
  137.
  138. She didn't speak as the vampire fled, simply staring in a bit of satisfaction at the least. They were able to inflict suffering upon this beast, and although it would never ease the pain her previous encounters with these versions of the undead had left upon her... it was a start.
  139.
  140. When it was all over, she let the magic she was channeling disappear, and her gaze turned to Eagleheart.
  141.
  142. "It's not enough, and I'm sure these attacks will only worsen with time... but you're right, we've done our part for the day. Let's return home, yes?"
  143.
  144. After all was said, she awaited the accompaniment of her allies before she would depart. After all, it was still unsafe to travel in these lands alone. Extremely so.
  145. (Yesiria)
  146. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  147.
  148. [03:29] Eagleheart continues on going back towards Huangzhou. He seems to be slightly pissed at the missed opportunity to kill the vampire for that time, yet he knew that patience was key in this. He had to develop a weapon that would give him the edge over the vampires...
  149.
  150. Yet, it seemed that there was a faint reminiscent on him of the battle. The man was easy to spot amidst the blizzard, and easy to act as the forefront of the group on the way back.
  151.
  152. He seemed to be possessed with cosmic energy, glowing in the same familiar yellow light that he always did. In the end, it turned out that the cosmic influence wasn't merely a coincidence, but it was also the reason why he was able to deal such a punishing blow.
  153.
  154. Perhaps, just now, he felt himself a bit closer to his star, once again.
  155. (Eagleheart)
