Reasoning: Marielle came running when she heard about the fighting and went to patch up the two who were dying, only to realize that her methods are far too slow. She's burning as much magic and energy as she can to patch these two up, since Kori-ja can't afford to have fighters down, and there are no healers, meaning fighters down screws the city. It is honestly pure frustration at her inability to heal these two fast enough that is pushing her to try and literally force her own life force into them.
