POET OF THE FALL

Murad Ali, a versatile actor, poet, rebel, dude, drifter, dreamer, is set to rock the stage at
the vintage 1905 with his experimental and contemporary performance of stand-in act and
poetry with music.

Murad’s enactments are based on bold and eminent scenes from the cult productions “The
Departed” and “Taxi Driver” which are interpreted to his own and borrowed compositions
from well acclaimed poets. The delivery is then suitably synchronized with a mix of western
and Indian melodies performed live on stage and Murad, in a passionate trance delivers the
quintessential mix of high drama and this unique sound dynamics.

In a nutshell, the concept is to create a harmony of music, poetry and drama marking a
correlation between these critical scenes and the sense that prevails from them.

As an actor who is also an avid thinker, Murad is unwittingly influenced by a parody of
senseless romanticism and graphical illustration of a reckless yet vulnerable protagonist.
However, as a poet he derives his inspirations from these same influences and is able to
intone this melodrama and transforms his expression of love, rectitude, rebellion and
nonchalance into a new level.

By far, this theatrical infusion of music, poetry and drama is perhaps the most daring
combination many a few have ever tried in Nepal.

Music is probably is the most predominant influences for Murad as an artist and in all
honesty it is embraced with open arms in this performance. For this special premier act,
Upendra Lal Singh a veteran musician (On Piano) brings the sense of depth and aptitude.

And along with his band, is perhaps the most appropriate composer to capture the essence
of overall collaboration and will definitely mark the new beginning in the Nepali New age
experiments in art. Anup Baral will be choreographing and directing the event.
