  1. What do you feel you could contribute to the house? (Skills or qualities about yourself).
  2. What do you expect from the house?
  3. What group experiences have you had? (Please include clubs, classes, sports, etc. and the level of involvement you had).
  4. Design a contraption and describe how it would work using a bicycle, a fruitcake, and a pillow that would be used to rob a bank. The fruitcake CANNOT be eaten by you.
  5. If frosty builds a snowman, is it asexual reproduction or adoption? Explain.
  6. Describe to a 2 year old how electricity works in twenty words or less.
  7.
  8. I feel I could contribute to the house because I am used to living with various people, including non-family people, I can compromise and enjoy keeping my things and space clean. I also don’t cause fights but actively try to quell them.
  9. I want to be around like-minded people who also enjoy math and science. I hope to learn more about the different types of engineering and make connections. I also want to make friends that share my interest in those subjects.
  10. My group experiences consist of being an active participant in math team, helping to teach my classmates the material in various classes, helping people work on a house, where I was a general aid with the measuring, cutting, wiring and building, as well as my senior project, an extracurricular project that shows new learning, where I led a group that built a car based robot.
  11. There are a lot of different directions to go here but I feel that the best way would be to use the bike to turn a launcher system. This would be made by gears and powered by pedaling the bike. It would launch pieces of the fruitcake. The pillow could be used as the rubber band in the slingshot mechanism, depending on the elasticity of the pillow.
  12. If Frosty built a snowman it would be adoption. This is because he isn’t splitting himself to create a new entity. He is acquiring the snow from outside of his body and shares no real relations with the new snowman. If he split himself and shared DNA with the new snowman then it would be asexual reproduction. He is taking care of something that was born by somebody else by his own free will then it is adoption.
  13. You flip a switch and the lights turn on. Beware touching the metal in the outlet, it will hurt.
