- Making his way through the swamp after passing by forest, Echo was seeking for a place of solace and peace, away from everything to practice the art he has been striving for so far. It was not such an easy task as it might've seemed from the first look - so far, most of his training sessions had visitors of some type, both friendly and hostile. But alas, he could not just give up on his plans for training, even with constant interruption like this - the will to grasp that type of magic was too much.
- Sat down by the small lake in the swamp, Echo's lips heaved a small sigh of relief. Finally, a place of solace, a place to practice, away from all the possible disturbance. Immediately after, he proceeded with the training he was intending to do - the cognitive magic technique already flew around his mind like a constant reminder of three key words when it came to such technique.
- 'Calling... Concurrence and Occurence..."
- The CCO rule was rested upon his mind for years by now. It was something he kept on mastering, almost neglecting symbolic magic in a way - it was too easy in his opinion, but at same time unreliable. What if there was no emotion to draw upon to do the magic? What if the emotion was not fitting for magic he wished to do? That and many other reasons had pushed him to choosing cognitive magic over anything else, and the years of practice led him to mastering it by now.
- But that was the easiest part of the training here. Positioning himself comfortable by the bank of the lake, he knew that the task ahead of him will be a lengthy one that takes the large amount of time to complete, and it's not easy either - but he was ready. The maturing youth, soon to reach his adulthood, was one of the talented ones, and knew what he has to do in order to achieve such feat.
- Parting his lips to murmur under his breath the reminder he knew all too well, his mind blotted out anything that could be of disturbance. No emotion, no unecessary thought, no distraction. There's none of that - only him, his mind and magic. The power that comes through sheer willpower, from the power of one's psyche.
- The moment he connected his mana circuits to the consciousness, the flow began to go through. It wasn't hard at all for him, having the years of experience behind his shoulders to go with, and so he successfully established the flow right away; opening his eyes to see the area infront of him, he once more made sure that nobody would see him at his willworking - he could not afford distraction at the moment of his triumph.
- Visualizing the rift was tough. Even moreso, making it work was even harder, but he was going to try anyway. He knew of the risks to be drained completely of one's mana, but his capacity was large, and his willpower was strong to withstand such harsh training - with his brows furrowing, it was seeming that he's cracking the reality apart, conjuring something alike of a teleport, but the size of it was pathetic. The "teleport" was quite literally up to ten inches of length and five in width, clearly not enough to transport anyone, even himself.
- But he knew that it wouldn't be an easy feat. Tampering with Lifestream itself? Boy, that's quite an act of Depravity, one that could probably echo from within and around him for a long time.
- Mustering his willpower to widen it more, Echo took a deep breath. He was focusing his best, and seconds, soon minutes flew by unnoticed. He was sat there in silence while the Lifestream was getting ruptured, bent to his will through sheer willpower in unending focus, one that could conjure a potent Rift with time; but alas, the young man had little experience with actual Rifts, despite his excellence with cognitive magic.
- At last, it began to progress. The Rift grew in size, but it was little regardless, and it was taking much time to conjure... for now. Perhaps with time, maybe even many years, he could do it quicker and better, but that's just getting ahead of yourself for now. Shaping the Rift he was conjuring into other size, it slowly grew into one that would reach five feet in length and three in width - but at what cost? With time that Echo spent here trying to conjure it, he was beginning to sweat, pushing himself to the new limits of own magic.
- He was growing tired, and his breath grew deep and shallow. With the drops of sweat rolling down his head among humid environment of swamp, he continued to work on it regardless. Echo was too determined to let it go just like that - he wished for more of it, to see just how far he can go, and the youth had been sustaining the Rift for good three minutes by now.
- But the Lifestream was screaming back at him for such vile manipulation. He was not experienced Magi to keep it going for too long, nor he was skilled enough to silence the Lifestream's backlash for such vile act. Gritting his teeth in attempts to hold it off for longer, eventually Echo gave up - it was becoming too painful. He released the flow of mana, and the Rift immediately shut; heavily exhaling after such act, he shook his head to dismiss the thought of what he just done. Has he done it at last?
- Even though he couldn't keep it up for long, Echo was satisfied with the results. A smirk curved on his lips - the years of training with cognitive magic finally paid off, and he could muster enough sheer willpower to rip the Rift within Lifestream. Taking another moment to rest, he stood up, wandering off away from the swamp; his walk was a bit weak, but the determined youth soon could walk normally again.
