  1.
  2. 4DEntityToday at 6:08 PM
  3. My dad and I both agreed we'll have to pass on the job.
  4. However, feel free to use the concepts I've already drawn up if you'd like.
  5.
  6. MithandirToday at 6:08 PM
  7. Oh dear. That is really disappointing.
  8. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.
  9.
  10. 4DEntityToday at 6:09 PM
  11. Yes, unfortunately, we can't agree to a contract being used on an honor system. We also agree the down pay isn't guaranteed anyways.
  12. However, I wish you the best of luck.
  13.
  14. MithandirToday at 6:09 PM
  15. I assume there is no way to resolve this then?
  16.
  17. 4DEntityToday at 6:10 PM
  18. The only way we'd be able to resolve it is with the removal of the contract and a set time of pay that cannot be changed by either of us.
  19.
  20. MithandirToday at 6:11 PM
  21. I cannot pay if I do not receive work
  22. You do see the conflict, correct?
  23.
  24. 4DEntityToday at 6:11 PM
  25. Of course but I didn't say no work.
  26. I said a set time.
  27. For example, the end of January.
  28.
  29. MithandirToday at 6:11 PM
  30. Well you could have asked for that instead of blatantly refusing out of nowhere and leaving the groups
  31. Unless this is just a negotiating strategy
  32. A bold one
  33.
  34. 4DEntityToday at 6:12 PM
  35. Well truth be told this is such a bold move I assumed you wouldn't want me working for you.
  36. However, if you're willing to agree to those terms, I will gladly rejoin everything.
  37.
  38. MithandirToday at 6:12 PM
  39. It wouldn't have been bold if you simply requested instead of saying you were quitting first
  40.
  41. 4DEntityToday at 6:12 PM
  42. I'm not quitting. I was never hired.
  43. I just left for convenience on your end.
  44. Apologies if that was a misunderstanding.
  45.
  46. MithandirToday at 6:13 PM
  47. My understanding is that you intended to join the project
  48. And your dad was reviewing the contract to tie up loose ends
  49. In which case they would be tied
  50.
  51. 4DEntityToday at 6:13 PM
  52. Yes, and I drew up the concept for you.
  53.
  54. MithandirToday at 6:13 PM
  55. Such as a timetable issue
  56.
  57. 4DEntityToday at 6:13 PM
  58. I did do some work.
  59. However, my dad stated that there are too many loose ends here.
  60. Now I haven't opened my portfolio.
  61. It is still closed to the public and open for you specifically.
  62. So we can negotiate if you wish.
  63.
  64. MithandirToday at 6:14 PM
  65. So this is just a negotiating strategy
  66. Not sure if I am impressed or upset by it
  67. I have no problem with a timetable
  68.
  69. 4DEntityToday at 6:14 PM
  70. Here's the main issues.
  71.
  72. MithandirToday at 6:14 PM
  73. But given there are "many loose ends" I'd like to know the rest
  74.
  75. 4DEntityToday at 6:16 PM
  76. 1. We can't have a contract on an honor system. My dad's concerned about what I'd be signing and I can see the issue.
  77. 2. We need guaranteed pay. A guaranteed pay at a certain time is needed as I can't swear myself to an uncertain end.
  78. 3. The job is quite intense. I understand your main selling point is the percentage but the guaranteed pay is quite low for all you're asking for. That's even with the others working on the job.
  79.
  80. Now, I can work with a minor or no pay raise but the first 2 need to be addressed.
  81.
  82. MithandirToday at 6:17 PM
  83. I can't do a guaranteed pay, because there is no guaranteed work
  84. Therefore I refuse to sign a timetable that isn't conditional on work being done
  85. second, you are being paid the same amount as 3 other scripters I have hired, all of which are older than you and fine with the pay and see the potential of the project earning more through a payout
  86.
  87. 4DEntityToday at 6:18 PM
  88. Age shouldn't matter here.
  89.
  90. MithandirToday at 6:18 PM
  91. third, given you are joining late you will be paid the same amount as the others, 2 of which have been working an extra month. That should be rather fortuitous for you
  92.
  93. 4DEntityToday at 6:18 PM
  94. And about the contract?
  95.
  96. MithandirToday at 6:19 PM
  97. What about it?
  98.
  99. 4DEntityToday at 6:19 PM
  100. We can't have it.
  101.
  102. MithandirToday at 6:19 PM
  103. ...Because why exaclty..?
  104. exactly*
  105.
  106. 4DEntityToday at 6:20 PM
  107. There are too many loose ends.
  108. Some of which I brought up above and I reluctantly agreed to.
  109. However, my dad is right: it's too much of a risk for the rewards.
  110.
  111. MithandirToday at 6:20 PM
  112. It's pretty alarming how quickly you turned on a dime here
  113. Not saying you don't have a right, and I'm sure your father is behind most of it
  114. And he brings good points
  115. What is most alarming is your negotiating strategy
  116. If you are this quick to abandon pretenses, I'm not sure I can trust you to honor an agreement, especially if it isn't in a written contract.
  117. Unfortunately this is how development jobs on ROBLOX work
  118. People do not take it seriously, thus I need to make a contract to ensure they do
  119. The contract guarantees pay upon completion, with my legal name and assurances from past participants if needed
  120.
  121. 4DEntityToday at 6:23 PM
  122. I see your point here. Understand I did not turn on a dime here. I had major doubts about the contracts reliability and addressed the points above. Those are why I consulted my father.
  123. However, the contract is nonbinding anyways but the fact that I'd be signing it is a concern.
  124. It is an honor agreement and I can follow that but the signing of it is an issue at the moment.
  125.
  126. MithandirToday at 6:24 PM
  127. You did turn on a dime. you agreed to everything with the exception of signing after we negotiated, and then randomly messaged me that you were bailing with no warning or chance for recourse until afterwords
  128. and afterwards the damage had been already been done
  129.
  130. 4DEntityToday at 6:25 PM
  131. I'm not bailing though.
  132. And there is no damage.
  133. I did leave some stuff but it's easy to return to.
  134. I'm merely addressing my concerns.
  135. I cannot work for you with those systems in place that are proven unreliable to me.
  136.
  137. MithandirToday at 6:26 PM
  138. What systems...?
  139.
  140. 4DEntityToday at 6:29 PM
  141. Systems being: unguaranteed pay, the compensation I'd owe you for things I'd have to put money into defending myself if you turned on me, and the extensive work required to make the project function that has an uncertain time.
  142. I'm not saying you will "turn on me" but scamming does happen.
  143.
  144. MithandirToday at 6:30 PM
  145. The money you'd pay is if you leak assets made by me or others for the third crusade
  146. which is completely reasonable
  147.
  148. 4DEntityToday at 6:30 PM
  149. Yes and I made that clear to my dad.
  150.
  151. MithandirToday at 6:30 PM
  152. And there is no way youd pay me anything if you didn't leak assets
  153. So just don't leak asset,s and that isnt a concern
  154.
  155. 4DEntityToday at 6:30 PM
  156. That's the issue though-it's blind trust.
  157.
  158. MithandirToday at 6:30 PM
  159. Of what?
  160.
  161. 4DEntityToday at 6:30 PM
  162. We can still end up in arbitration if you believe I did something like that.
  163. Which is expensive.
  164. And time consuming.
  165. And stressful.
  166.
  167. MithandirToday at 6:31 PM
  168. The only blindly trusting someone else is me trusting you to honor a contract you arent legally bound to, and you can leak all my stuff and not pay a dime if you just decide you dont want to
  169. So who is taking the risk?
  170. Me.
  171. You risk your time, I risk assets and money.
  172.
  173. 4DEntityToday at 6:31 PM
  174. I also risk money and assets.
  175.
  176. MithandirToday at 6:31 PM
  177. No, you don't
  178.
  179. 4DEntityToday at 6:31 PM
  180. I'm providing my assets for an unguaranteed pay.
  181. My assets, my pay.
  182. My time.
  183.
  184. MithandirToday at 6:31 PM
  185. they aren't your assets if you are made under employement
  186. They are the studios
  187. that is clear in the contract
  188.
  189. 4DEntityToday at 6:32 PM
  190. If they came into existence because of me, consider it however you want-it's my work.
  191. So I would be losing that for no pay.
  192.
  193. MithandirToday at 6:32 PM
  194. Tell me
  195.
  196. 4DEntityToday at 6:32 PM
  197. When perhaps I could have used that time elsewhere.
  198.
  199. MithandirToday at 6:32 PM
  200. Does the mona lisa belong to leonardo da vinci
  201. or to the luve
  202. the answer is to the luve
  203.
  204. 4DEntityToday at 6:32 PM
  205. I'll save you time.
  206. We aren't coming to a negotiation here but pointless bickering.
  207. And I'll fess up-we both are doing that.
  208. So if this is the end, I wish you best of luck.
  209. But I cannot work for you.
  210.
  211. MithandirToday at 6:33 PM
  212. I wish we could have but your negotiation strategy at the beginning was highly unprofessional and rude
  213.
  214. 4DEntityToday at 6:33 PM
  215. Again, you may keep the concept drawing.
  216. Leaving the servers was a mistake but not a big one.
  217.
  218. MithandirToday at 6:33 PM
  219. I don't need your permission, you made it for free without any agreement in place. But thank you anyway
  220.
  221. 4DEntityToday at 6:34 PM
  222. Alright, bye.
  223.
  224. MithandirToday at 6:34 PM
  225. I do not think I would like you as an employee at this point
  226. I appreciate your time
