- Pokemon Sword Any% FAQ
- Q: What are you trying to do?
- A: Beat Pokemon Sword as fast as possible!
- Q: Are you playing on Emulator?
- A: Does that actually exist...?
- Q: Why are you using Sobble? Isn't Scorbunny better?
- A: Scorbunny has a solid early game but isn't as effective at taking Pokemon out as Sobble. Overall Sobble is just better at taking out most of the game compared to Scorbunny.
- Q: What are the runnable stats for Sobble?
- A: Minus Speed and Special attack are not runnable for Sobble. You also need at least 10 IV SPA and 3 IV Speed to start a run.
- Q: Why do you pick the girl?
- A: Waifu for laifu. (Cause she's cute)
- Q: Why do you name your character OwO?
- A: Are you not a fan of this? OwO It's clearly the best name ever created and you can't stop me. OwO (It actually doesn't waste any time)
- Q: Why are you playing Sword instead of Shield?
- A: The version exclusive gyms are much better for Sobble in Sword than they are in Shield. Lapras on the Ice gym makes Shield infinity slowly for Sobble, making the Excadrill route currently seems like the more viable option on Shield.
- Q: Does this mean the leaderboards will be split?
- A: I'm very much hoping this will be the case! Being able to do both routes and have them count towards the leaderboards would be a ton of fun!
- Q: What is the difference between Sword and Shield?
- A: Mostly Pokemon able to spawn in the overworld, as well as version exclusive gyms. Pokemon Sword has the Fighting and Rock gyms, where as Shield has Ghost and Ice gyms.
- Q: Why do you catch a Rookidee at the beginning of the game?
- A: Catching Rookidee at the beginning of the game skips the Pokemon tutorial when you walk down Route 2. It also is so far the most viable option to take on the Grass Gym leader without getting absolutely destroyed with only Sobble.
- Q: Why do you catch a Litwick in the Fire Gym?
- A: Litwick is amazing for a couple of reasons. Not only does he not get enough experience to evolve early, he also gets access to Curse. Curse is what we use towards the end game against Gygantimax Eternatus at the end making his fight infinitely faster.
- Q: Why do you die to Garbodor on purpose?
- A: Dying to a Pokemon after you've beaten the 3rd gym gets you a free teleport to the next city. This takes quite some time to get to if you're biking making the death warp a much faster option.
- Q: Is it worth it to do any Max Raid battles?
- A: So far it's not looking likely. Those battles are extremely slow with a ton of turns and animations wasted. We'll see in the future though?
- Q: Why don't you Dynamax during the run?
- A: The animation for Dynamaxing is EXTREMELY long compared to just setting up to max stat boost. Overall it's extremely situational and only happens during the very first Gym Leader.
- Q: DO YOU KNOW ABOUT TYPE ADVANTAGES?!
- A: YES I LOVE WHEN GALARIAN HAU (Hop) GIVES ME EXTRA TEXT JUST TO TELL ME I USED A SUPER EFFECTIVE MOVE ON HIM OR CRIT HIM.
- Q: Why do you complain when you get a critical hit?
- A:
- Q: Why do you switch to Eternatus at the end of the game?
- A: Using and overpowered legendary is much faster than an overpowered starter Pokemon.
- Q: Who has World Record?
- A: Game Freak
