↳ if no hyeonju were to be described in only one word, it would be 'rock'. why? because she is as tough as a rock on the outside as she is on the inside. the former because she chooses to wear only solid grey- and/or black-coloured clothing, preferably with as little colour and as many rips as possible, and pierces and tattoos many, but small, parts of her body. she swears in nearly every sentence and will sometimes be very obviously sarcastic just to humour herself. she isn't afraid to be blunt and refuses to apologize for her actions if she doesn't truly feel sorry. the latter because it seems that the rebel phase that most teenagers go through has not taken its leave quite yet, though she is already two/three years into adulthood. furthermore, she normally doesn't listen to others, even her parents, if she finds that her agenda doesn't coincide with theirs. essentially, to have no hyeonju listen to someone is a miracle that should be cherished for the rest of that person's life. on the flip side, to have no hyeonju mad at someone is a death note that should be deeply regretted by that person who made her mad. she is easily annoyed and angered by the even littlest things so people should take great caution around her. she will insult, swear, yell and even get physical, if she manages to get that angered (if she does, then one should know that it is time to run). it doesn't matter to her who is watching or if she'll get herself into trouble. even if one sincerely apologizes to her, she will never accept it. she holds grudges forever so if one ever leaves her good books, there is not a single chance that they will be able to get back in. but once she gets home afterwards, she completely breaks down and cries when no one is around. unbeknownst to the person who made her 'mad' because she was able to put up a front, they've actually deeply wounded her because she feels insecure, alone and sensitive. she isn't the same person who she is with the lights on and the lights off.

↳ unlike most people, no hyeonju comes from quite a wealthy, full-korean family originating from cheonan. they aren't super wealthy that they own a corporation group but they have more wealth than most people. hyeonju's father is a businessman for a corporation group and her mother was a university professor who later became a chancellor upon moving to incheon when hyeonju was 12. not to mention, hyeonju's family is small, consisting of only herself and her two parents, so there isn't much money to be spent to provide a living for them. because of both of these statements, wealthy, only child hyeonju was a spoiled brat (and still continues to be even as a full-grown adult).

when hyeonju got the janitor job at walmart, her parents were completely appalled. hyeonju didn't need a job at all because of her family's wealth and being a janitor, of all jobs, would disgrace the family, considering her parents had such well-off jobs. but hyeonju, being hyeonju, didn't listen to them and pursued her part-time job as a janitor anyway. she claims that she is 'bored', having a lot of spare time outside of university, where she is currently studying dental hygiene. like in most situations, her parents eventually learnt to accept her decision.

↳ after hyeonju was called through the intercom by seungcheol to clean up a soda spill in the mcdonalds, she simply went to do her job - she cleaned up the spill. but before she was about to leave, she was stopped by seungcheol, who clearly appeared to be making a move on her. to his dismay, she wasn't interested - she gave him a disgusted face, pushed him away and continued off, muttering some incomprehensible words. then and there, she hoped that she would never have to clean up a spill in mcdonalds ever again. if she did, she'd hope that mingyu would be working and force him to go instead.

HIS FIRST IMPRESSION  |
↳ when seungcheol called through the intercom for a janitor to clean up a soda spill in the mcdonalds, he was expecting mingyu to come. however, hyeonju arrived instead. he thought that she was 'hot' so he, being seungcheol, decided to make a move on her. when she showed disinterest, cocky seungcheol wasn't baffled. he smiled, knowing he'd eventually encounter her again and when he did, he would just try to make a move on her again (think mansae music video).

↳ hyeonju acts like she normally does - unimpressed and annoyed. she uses sarcastic remarks the most around seungcheol. additionally, she playfully hits him a lot. however, this is all a means to hide her growing love for him - she would never admit it to anyone's face.
