Astrea and Serena: Dye the hair!

oday Astrea had decided to visit, messaging before hand. She arrived promptly, coming inside to see Serena's latest artwork. She smiled as she entered "Hey! So what have you been working on?"
Serena
"Oh, you are here already. Hopefully my lusus did not bother you on the way in. Poor thing has difficulty telling us apart sometimes. I have just finished a new shade of scarlet from a rare coral I managed to dig out earlier today. The inhabitants were...less then happy." This is extenuated by a series of small scrapes and bruises.

Astrea gasps as she sees all the scrapes and bruises "Serena are you okay? Please tell me you've tended to your wounds...you know those can get infected. And no he was quite fine"
Serena
Serena just gives her a funny look. "These little scratches? I'm quite fine, the salt water keeps everything clean. Besides, I've had much worse wrestling with my lusus. He can be such a hog when we catch something during the hunts."

"Yes, yes I...wait doesn't salt make wounds worse?"
Serena
"Is that how that works? Maybe we're just more resistant to it then."

"Perhaps, I never really looked into it much."
Serena
"Biology is weird."
Astrea_Bastet
"Your telling me"
Serena
"So, whale you're here can I tempt you with a new look? I've always thought you could pull off a blue, somefin to match the sea."
Astrea_Bastet
"Blue? Well...I could give it a try"
Serena
"Oh good! I've just make a new shade recently and I codn't bear to leave floating in the surf. This is a great kelp!"
She runs off and returns with a jar of dark-aqua liquid

"Oh wow you sure got a lot"
Serena
"Of course, plenty of coral in the sea."
Astrea_Bastet
"So Blue make up right?"
Serena
"Oh no, this can't go on your skin, it's for your hair."
Astrea_Bastet
"Oh! We're dying it"
Serena
"Yes. Sorry, I thought you undersea-er understood that."
Astrea_Bastet
"My fault, really. I haven't dyed my hair much"
Serena
"Well if you're up for it then we should get to my art room. We'll have to boil some water."
Astrea_Bastet
She nods "Yeah! I'll give it a try, maybe I can find a pretty blue dress to go with it"
Serena
"True, I can make more of this colour to go with it if you want to dye the dress as well."
Astrea_Bastet
"Well let's see how my hair turns out first"
Serena
"Right, it should be a fun experiment." Serena leads them both to a boiling pot, then dumps the entire jar into it. "Just sit in the chair and lean your head back."
Astrea_Bastet
"Okay" Astrea sits down in the chair and leans back "Uh this isn't going to hurt right?"

She chuckles "No I don't believe I've develop hairkinesis"
Serena
"Well that's a relief. It's hard to tell with you psionic users." Serena puts on a pair of heavy gloves and begins working through Astrea's hair.

She chuckles "It's only eyebeams, I think. If there is a second I haven't discovered it"
Serena
"Huh. I'm sure you will find something. Never really been a fuchsiablood that didn't have a full array of them."
Astrea_Bastet
"Guess so, but it does take time to learn if you have another if it doesn't...trigger"
Serena
"Well, just don't go putting yourself in harms way just to do so. How...have you been anyway?"
Astrea_Bastet
"I've been good! A little scared when I saw a few drones the other evening."
Serena
"Drones? You're not living on the surface are you?"
Astrea_Bastet
"No of course not, I saw them from the water while I was swimming around"
Serena
"Oh good. Please be safe. I'd ask you to give up on trying to...do whatever you are trying to do, but I know better then that."
Astrea_Bastet
"I'm sorry to worry you so much but I...just can't give it up."
Serena
"Fine, just be safe. You're the only other troll I actually see down here you know."
Astrea_Bastet
She smiles "I will be, promise."
Serena
"Good. Now let's dry you off and see how it turned out."
Astrea_Bastet
She nods and sits up "I can't wait! I'm excited to see how it looks"
Serena
"Yes, I'm shore it will be a sight to sea!"
Astrea_Bastet
Astrea giggles "So do we use a hair dryer or?"
Serena
Serena hands her a multicolored towel that looks well used. "Can't, you'll mess it up."
Astrea_Bastet
"Okay." Astrea takes the towel and dries her hair
Serena
"Perfect! It looks great. Just keep it dry for a day or so."
Astrea_Bastet
"Guess your fine if I stay here for the evening than? Can't exactly go outside while it dries"
Serena
"Of course I am. We are signmates after all. Everything here is yours as well."
Astrea_Bastet
She smiles and hugs Serena "Your the best you know?"
Serena
Serena hugs Astrea back. "I try."
Astrea_Bastet
"Nooow...what else have you painted recently?"
Serena
"Well, other then touching up my own hair, I'm still trying to get the colour right for mutant blood. I can't seem to find any mixes that make an accurate representation. I did manage to make a nice pearl white to paint a whale lusus I saw. But then my own lusus fought it and ate it. Speaking of, you don't mind whale meat for dinner right?"
Astrea_Bastet
"No that's fine, I don't mind at all. Just make sure it's properly cooked, won't want us getting scurvy or anything. Although if you want I can style your hair, I'm a wiz at it"
Serena
"Oh right, you'll want yours cooked. I can manage that. And shore, if you could tie it up for me I bet it would end much better then what I could manage. It get's pretty bad after a workout."
Astrea_Bastet
"Yeah of course, I can put it in a nice ponytail or a bun. Those are both really manageable."
Serena
"Thanks, sorry I can't ask for anything more exciting. I'd just never be able to get it out."
Astrea_Bastet
"IT's fine, it's fine. You wanna put the food in and I can style your hair while we wait?"
Serena
"Yes, of course. ...cooking..."
Astrea_Bastet
"Serena...?"
Serena
"It's just been a while, that's all."
Astrea_Bastet
"You want me to cook?"
Serena
"I shouldn't ask you to."
Astrea_Bastet
"It's fine! I don't mind"
Serena
"Alright. I think the carcass is still with my lusus. We will just have to get some."
Astrea_Bastet
"Sounds easy enough, we'll carve out a good piece and cook it right"
Serena
"Yeah, easy. Also I will do it, you are not to go outside remember?"
Astrea_Bastet
"Oh right, I'll wait here than"
Serena
Serena leaves out the airlock and is gone for at least 30 minutes until the doors open again and she drags a large slab out fresh cut meat through with her. "Heh, ow. He wasn't ready to give up enough for two people tonight I guess."

Astrea looks up from her hubtop, catchploguing it "Oh, are you okay?"
Serena
"I think just a cracked rib. It will heal. The kitchen is all yours, sorry if it's a bit lacking though."
Astrea_Bastet
"Please rest, I'll get right to cooking." she grabs the large slab of meat and heads to the kitchen to cook

Astrea comes out about 30 minutes later with two plates of cooked meat, even included spices 'Done!"

"Oh, you cooked mine, thanks!"

"Your welcome!" she hands her the plate, a knife and fork before sitting down to eat

"Soo, what HAVE you been doing up there?"
Astrea_Bastet
"Well...I met a nice cerulean, I also visited some villages to help out...in secret of course. Oh and I've been practicing hair styling on myself...Ldad wants bellyrubs as always"
Serena
"...A highblood."
Astrea_Bastet
"Mhm. She was nice, she really didn't like highbloods"
Serena
"You know they can't be trusted."
Astrea_Bastet
"I know...I'm being careful, maybe one day that will change"
Serena
"Maybe. But as long as we have this blood, no one can trusted."
Astrea_Bastet
She nods "Right...right."
Serena
"Sorry. Sometimes I just wish you'd stay down here where it's safe. But I know that's shellfish."

Astrea nods "I don't blame you for wishing that, I can sea why...I am living dangerously."
Serena
Serena takes a few deep breaths before speaking again. "It's dangerous, but not wrong. If anything I should be helping you..."
Astrea_Bastet
Astrea shakes her head "You being here for me is help enough"
Serena
"That's nice of you to say. I think I need a break from this kind of talk though."
Astrea_Bastet
"Yeah same...hey let's watch a movie"
Serena
"A movie? I don't exactly have the most impressive setup, but it's...cozy?"

"Works for me!"

Serena leads the two to her respiteblock, where there is a small-ish TV, but no chairs.

"Got somewhere to sit?"
Serena
"Remember when I said "cozy"?

"Huh uh"

"Well there's a "royal" sized recuperaccon. So either cozy up or I can grab myself an exercise mat."

"Aw I don't want to get my dress full of slime, exercise mat it is"
Serena
"Fair enough. I'll get a few." Serena shove the pod out of the way with a kick and grabs two mats."

Astrea sits down on one of the mats "Still nice, and modesT"
Serena
"Hehe, yes. For the royal bloodline we both live quite normal lives."
Astrea_Bastet
She nods "Heh, that we do. Now let's start a movie."
And thus they hang out all day long
