- ------------------------------------------------------------THE GANG-------------------------------------------------------------------
- Name: Stanley Parble
- Age: 20
- Sex: Female
- Description: Our spunky, if not unlikely, protagonist! Working as an Evening Sanitation Coordinator (read: Night Shift Janitor) for the past few years, Stan's no stranger to cleaning up odd messes. It's only natural, then, that she'd find herself smack dab in the middle of a SKELETON APOCALYPSE right in the middle of her shift! Attacked by an evil lich, Stan somehow survived and gained a few neat tricks in the process: first, her skeleton became SENTIENT and very chatty--she named him LY. Second, Stan gained some superhuman powers from eating MAGICAL BONE MARROW that made her stronger, faster, and more resilient than the usual meatbag. She might not be the smartest tool in the shed, but Stan DOES possess several useful skills--long nights at the batting cages have made her an amazing hitter, days at the park playing Blades of Zamarka (a local LARP group) helped her practice stealth and close-quarters combat, her days as the High School Chess Club's star player make her practically immune to enemy tactics, and her love of video games (especially survival horror) gives her a leg-up on survival! That's not to say she's all daisies, however. Prone to bursts of alcoholism, idiocy, violence, and rudeness, she's hardly /qst/ protag material, but we love her anyway! The younger daughter of a family of four, Stan has a pretty good relationship with her prankster parents, but her relationship with her brother Sue has soured due to a still-foggy blackout at his wedding a few years back. Will she live long enough to see them all again? Only YOU can decide!
- Name: Ly
- Age: 20?
- Sex: Male (even though he's Stan's skeleton. Don't read into it.)
- Description: One of Stan's oldest friends that only recently became sentient, Ly is Stan's sentient skeleton that only Stan and a few other magical adepts can hear. Though the jury's still out as to how he exactly came to life (signs point to Wild Magic), Ly is nonetheless a good sport and always happy to express his opinions. Though his voice resembles that of some weaselly mobster henchman, Ly is far more rational and stable than the person he supports, making him a valuable ally to those that can see and hear him. Thanks to a few magical tweaks, Ly is able to scout things out and phase through walls in his ASTRAL PROJECTION form while also remaining invisible to those who aren't trained in the magical arts.
- Name: Arthur Berry
- Age: 23
- Sex: Male
- Description: A Good Boy Corporate Security Guard that Stan abducted during an assault on the Good Boy Doggie Bones Factory. The messy-haired foil to Stan's antics, Art slowly warmed up to her and eventually became one of her closest allies. Originally taking the job to help pay for his Art School tuition, Art was trained in all manners of Private Army skills and is actually quite capable on the battlefield despite his propensity for sweating and breathing heavily. Though he grew up in West Clearwater, his mother, father, and two older sisters Greta and Sal set up shop in Washington, leaving Art to study at the prestigious Clearwater U. A man of few close friends, Art's cool and composed façade quickly fades when someone brings up anime or 'That's The Spirit'. A rabid fanboy for both, Art will argue for hours about his favorite show "Alchemical Beauty Rena" and his current crush, Sybil Castellanos. In a recent scuffle it was believed that he had died saving Stan from a grenade, but after a dramatic entrance during a fight with General Hawkes, it was revealed that rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated.
- Name: Sybil Castellanos
- Age: 21
- Sex: Female
- Description: Host of the critically-acclaimed occult podcast 'That's the Spirit', this goth gal is no stranger to weird happenstance! Friends with Stan since High School (they met at a LARP), Syb is a practitioner of the magical arts and obsessed with the occult. While this does give her a leg up on the current situation, it also gives her a pretty big chip on her shoulder and a temper to match. This makes her a popular podcast host, of course, but also causes her to butt heads with people who don't share her opinions. Lucky in life but unlucky in love, Syb's had a bit more experience than Stan in the dating department, but several messy breakups have led her to focus more on her studies and podcasting. With both of her parents dead in a mugging gone wrong, Syb has few people she trusts in her life and relies on Stan much more than she lets on. As of late, however, she and Art have been getting closer. Whether things develop or not remain to be seen, but Art's sudden revival certainly added some kindling to the flames! That said, Syb is quick to offer possible solutions and advice when the situation calls for it (and it usually does).
- Name: Mitzi Muldoon
- Age: 21
- Sex: Female
- Description: Originally a gatekeeper for Good Boy's secret underground base, Mitzi became the second Corporate Security Guard to join the team after Stan was captured and interrogated. Annoyingly aloof, Mitzi nonetheless has something of a soft spot for Stan and is generally more patient with her antics than the others are. A water polo and SCUBA enthusiast, Mitzi is surprisingly athletic compared to the rest of the team--nonetheless she often employs a stealthier, more relaxed approach to combat situations. Rarely found without a bag of chips and her favorite Water Polo Magazine, Mitzi is frequently found hassling the new recruits or kicking something to make it work. All that aside, she sometimes hints at a not-so-chipper past and gives off the impression that she's dealt with death more than once. Is there more than meets the eye here, or is it another one of her jokes?
- Name: Eddie Valenti
- Age: 21
- Sex: Male
- Description: An excitable college screenwriter-turned looter, Eddie has enough energy to last a lifetime! Recruited by Stan and the gang when looting a gas station for food, Eddie eagerly joined Stan's entourage and quickly proved himself to be a valuable ally. Besides being an ex-track team star in High School, Eddie also knows his way around movie trivia, shotguns, and RIP KORD, daredevil extraordinaire! Never found far away from his roommate Tucker or his pal Kiki, Eddie's always looking for more movie material. Friendly to a fault, Eddie is also the frequent butt of many jokes, but he always manages to take them on the nose, much to Tucker and Mitzi's chagrin.
- Name: Tucker Hodgkins
- Age: 22
- Sex: Male
- Description: The 'older bro' to Eddie's 'younger', Tucker is also a student of Clearwater U-turned looter. An aspiring director, Tucker is far more calm and composed than his roommate and tends to think things through before leaping into danger. An on-and-off martial artist, Tucker also learned some First Aid during his instructor days and is always ready to give a pep talk or explain a situation. Not much else is known about the guy yet save for that he's a fan of 'That's the Spirit' and hopes to one day direct the film adaptation of Stan and the gang's exploits. Don't even THINK about trying to take the rights from him!
- Name: Kiki Miyazaki
- Age: 20
- Sex: Female
- Description: Enigmatic as she is strong, Kiki is Tucker and Eddie's camera girl and a student at Clearwater U as well. Fond of heavy artillery and cooking, Kiki tends to let her actions do the talking due to suffering from 'Dysrhythmusia': a peculiar disorder that forces the sufferer to only speak in rhymes. This does little to slow her down on the battlefield, however--Kiki is rarely seen without her LMG (a weapon usually mounted on a tripod) or some other weapon of mass destruction. Though it generally takes her a while to warm up to new people, she's quickly adapted to Stan's group and serves as a valuable member of the team!
- Name: Denise Venaas
- Age: 19
- Sex: Female
- Description: After Stan stole her thunder by soundly defeating her over and over in their High School Chess Club, Denise moved on to greener pastures. When those pastures decided to bully her and turn her into a social outcast, Denise came to rely on the cold certainty of SCIENCE! Taking a research position at the Top Secret Facility in the local redwood preserve, Denise quickly got to work spitting in God's eye and made extreme breakthroughs with the bony miracle substance 'Goodboynium'. All good things must end, however, and shortly after turning the lab's janitor into a hulking freak of nature, she and her fellow scientists were drafted into the lich's dark forces. Managing to avoid being de-boned due to her utter pathetic nature, Denise continued to serve the lich by maintaining Talbot. A surprise visit from Stan and the gang quickly changed her tune, however, and now she rolls with 'the good guys'. Annoyingly weak and pathetic, Denise' one redeeming quality appears to be her techspertise, but even that is grossly overshadowed by her creepy and irritating nature. Utterly useless in combat and conflict and quick to break down into a puddle of sweat and tears, Denise might have some worth eventually, but speaking of science, Denise was one of the only gang members to receive NO VOTES in the popularity contest--stick THAT in your calculator and compute it!
- Name: Talbot Schumer
- Age: ???
- Sex: Male
- Description: Originally a fellow Evening Sanitation Coordinator for Good Boy's Top Secret Redwood Preserve Lab, Talbot quickly gained infamy with a multitude of quirks and complexes rivalling Stan's! When his coworkers found how compatible his physiology was with Goodboynium, however, Talbot quickly became the toast of the town. Until he was drugged, pumped full of the stuff, and sent to kill Stan, that is. Now a twelve-foot tall freak of nature, Talbot quickly earned a spot on Stan's shit-list due to his tendency to track her down almost anywhere and frequent attempts to kill her with his superhuman strength and laser eyes. Thanks to some assistance from Denise, however, Stan was able to effectively 'unblock' Talbot's brain and reached out to him with their mutual hate of their jobs. Now batting for Team Stan, Talbot is a force to be reckoned with. Boasting an insane amount of energy and resilience, it almost seems as though the guy's invincible. That said, his strength is a double-edged sword--taking too much punishment causes his Goodboynium armor to lash out and become unpredictable and requires constant maintenance to keep stable. When he's not murdering people, however, Talbot is a gentle giant and seems to want to follow and protect Stan wherever she goes, kinda like a puppy with a rocket launcher.
- Name: Gus Reyes
- Age: 23
- Sex: Male
- Description: A pal from Stan's pizza delivery days and her next door neighbor, Gus is enigmatic as he is talented. Though he's not much of a talker, Gus makes up for it with his skills on a bike and his sheer strength. Appearing and disappearing seemingly at will, Gus always seems to have time to play some games with Stan over a slice of pizza or two. When he's not working, however, Gus is often found standing in for his businessman father and helping his sizable family out.
- ------------------------------------------------------------GOOD BOY PERSONNEL---------------------------------------------------------
- Name: GOOD BOY CORPORATE SECURITY
- Age: Varies
- Sex: Equal-opportunity!
- Description: Faceless goons of Clearwater's favorite success story. Despite being rent-a-cops for a Dog Bone company, security is extremely well-funded: its operatives are often seen clad in full body armor and/or experimental exoskeletons, face-obscuring gasmask/helmet combos, and wielding fully-automatic N4 Assault Rifles, Grenade Launchers, Stun Batons, and other implements of mass destruction. After a few misunderstandings in the beginning, these guys are more or less now on Stan's side and are actively trying to keep Clearwater's surviving population safe from the Bony Horde.
- Name: Raphael Blumenkrantz
- Age: 62
- Sex: Male
- Description: Temperamental as he is paranoid, Good Boy's Chief of Security is a Vietnam veteran and a veritable mountain of a man with a personality to match. The Skeleton Apocalypse has only made him more gung-ho, but despite his tendency to toss subordinates around and shout his voice out, many of his employees respect the veteran, yet simultaneously keep out of his way. Blumenkrantz seems to have an especially big chip on his shoulder when it comes to Stan--most likely due to the incident at the Company Christmas Party that resulted in the injury of a coworker. Still, her desire to make amends, her progress in containing the situation, and her assassination of his commanding officer from back in his Green Beret days might make him ease up a bit, right?
