  16. "Ah, so you are the latest trainer for the Avatar, are you?"
  17. "... Azula, you look beautiful."
  18. "You always were a good liar."
  19. "I'm sixty million years old, I've had time to practice. How are the kids? Grandkids?"
  20. "Great-grandchildren, as a matter of fact. They make it worth waking up to spoil them. I'm tired, I'm so very tired, but I wanted to see you again."
  21. "Ah, that... that kind of comes with being in your seventies. Hold on a tick, I promised to give you back your youth, and this'll only take a moment."
  22. "I... oh! Oh, hello. And goodbye wrinkles. You should have come back sooner!"
  23. "Would have if I could have, no hesitation. So let me tell you about an offer I'd like to make you..."
  24.
  25. Oh, of course there was a great deal of things happening here. The world was in upheaval with rapid developments everywhere, conspiracies brewed, insurrection rumbled behind the scenes, and all in all the world appeared to be a powder keg ready to explode while many questioned the relevance of the Avatar's existence at all.
  26.
  27. And into that stepped the reincarnation of the man who corrupted the Fire Kingdom's rulership to be dual elementalists, which incidentally cemented the Fire Nation's acceptance of airbenders, and who also served as a tutor for the newest incarnation of the Avatar.
  28.
  29. "I'm the Avatar, and you've gotta deal with- wait, let go!"
  30. "You're the Avatar, and you're still going to be put over my knee if you don't knock it off this instant."
  31. "Hey! You can't do that! I'm the- hey! Ow! Stoppit! Ow!!"
  32. "I will teach you humility one swat at a time if I must!"
  33. "No fair! Ow! Stop! Mommy!"
  34.
  35. Dr. Spock can take a flying leap. Corporal punishment has its place, when used sparingly.
  36.
  37. In any event, as time progressed there were multiple attempts on both myself, Korra, and those around us. And so I decided the best way to deal with this was to change the world itself. Sure, people are going to be people, some are going to resent disparity, but there will always be disparity in some form, and there will be others who want to have more power than their fellow man for any number of reasons. Instead, the world is in a state of change, so why not include even greater upheavals?
  38.
  39. And so after much deliberation, a pact was formed with the spirits and the people. The world was transplanted in the blink of an eye to something greater, and every living soul could feel the rush of life that gradually suffused the world.
  40.
  41. This did absolutely nothing to deal with the underlying problems, of course, but Korra eventually got that nonsense straightened out - and a lot more smoothly than she otherwise might have, for several reasons. Not the least of which was having the retired and de-aged ruler of the Fire Nation there to act as muscle... primarily because Azula thought it was funny. There were a few things that changed in how this happened as well - her link to the prior incarnations of the Avatar was unbroken, and things went quite a lot more smoothly overall.
  42.
  43. And when the book closed, Azula left this world to venture alongside another, to see many new worlds.
