Personality ; the one thing anyone can say about emi, right off the bat, is that she's loud to the point of being annoying. she's not outgoing, per say -- in fact, at first she seems the opposite. often times, she can be seen staring blankly off into space, and she'll end up blurting out something randomly. she seems almost bipolar because at times she can be found yelling obnoxiously, and others she is seen sitting silently musing. most people tend to avoid her because of her strange personality, but she doesn't really mind. emi is the type of girl to muse over the most random things, and she definitely has a thirst for knowledge. unfortunately, she's a bit (read: very) naive and dense, and often takes a while to understand things that have been told to her. she's slow on the uptake, which has earned her the nickname "tube light" (because of how long they take to turn on.) her thickness -- which is only worsened by the fact that she can't speak the language around her fluently -- seems like something that would be a hindrance, but in fact, it actually motivates her to try her hardest. emi has a one track mind, and once she focuses on something she wants, she'll put all her energy into it and won't stop aiming for it; her determination is something that is awe-inspiring. because she can be a bit obtuse, she often has to be told things bluntly, and although they can sometimes be a bit hurtful, she'd rather people do that than skirt around her. she can be extremely persuasive and convincing when it comes to changing people's minds, and she's almost completely shameless in her attitude. its difficult to embarrass her because she accepts the things she does wrong, and tries her hardest to learn from her mistakes.

Background ; emi grew up in yokohama, japan living with her grandmother. her parents lived in korea and owned a restaurant in order to make enough money to support their family, but they wanted emi to grow up immersed in japanese culture, so they sent her to japan when she was two and let her stay there for ten years. they would alternate visits, and one would stay with her for a month at least, but emi still ended up being closest to her grandmother. despite growing up in japan, emi learned both korean and japanese (although she knows the latter the best.) when she was twelve, her parents decided it was time for her to move to korea and live with her, and she had almost no trouble fitting in.

His Personality ; he's the literal sunshine of the school. people are attracted towards him because of her effervescent personality and permanent smile that never fails to brighten your day. he's extremely straightforward and patient, which makes him such a good match for emi.
