I wonder what kind of life did husk had in hell before alastor show up and made him his partner.

I can easy imagine him thinking of his past life when he was alive, thinking there was better ways to deal with them and as well, if he wasn't drunk asshole 24/7. he can have a better life & didn't drop down into hell
