  1. 0. Nature. I am a nature hoe. Give me a tree. Give me the ocean. Let me write my posts outside. Nature.
  2. 1. High fantasy/Steampunk. I’m a slut for high fantasy. I love magic and witches and fairies and elves and anything ethereal like that. Less of a fan of high tech.
  3. 1.5. Powerful yet inexplicable, with room for interpretation. We don’t fully understand how it works, but we can use it!
  4. Huge draws of power from something that is: relatively inexplicable/divine/from another dimension/from some kind of pact/from loss or trauma/passed down through family/etc, there are endless numbers of mechanics for magic/power but I like a bit of mystery in them. I liked mage for this reason (Huge draws of power from mysterious/godlike figures, not 100% understood), I like elementalist for this reason although it has less mystery. Could like magitech for this reason, I suppose. I tend not to like tech as much because everything feels pre-defined and broken up into little pieces.
  5. 2. Adventure and environment variety! I dont want to sit in the same place the whole time plz, I like plots where things move around and the party is given the chance to explore of their own free will. (mages felt free to me bc of this, elementalists feels a little more tight bc the party is shoehorned into running away and they don't have much of a choice) Also environment variety, let us go to big forests and volcanos and deserts and islands and space.
  6. 3. CHARACTER DRIVEN!!!! I would much prefer a story where the characters are given agency to learn/grow/develop things on their own, and if written well, should end up providing some form of organic story anyway. I like the idea of maybe a singular loose plot point to maybe follow, but not much else. Plot points can be restrictive. Give me organic friendships that build up over time, give me characters that slowly fall in love, give me characters who become worst enemies because of a simple mistake. Give me problems that arise because someone has a past regret, or because someone messed up, or because someone wandered into something they weren’t supposed to. Let people have internal struggles, rather than being focused always on the outer conflict.
  7. 4. Light theme, light colors, dark story elements. I think I may be the only person here who genuinely likes lighter theming of things. Bright color pallets, welcoming environments, warm places. It’s nice to have a nice environment, because we bring the darkness upon ourselves anyway. Yall are too depressing with your Dark Souls aesthetics. The story won’t be nice to our characters, but that doesn’t mean the environment has to be. Let them rest in a clean, warmly-lit inn.
  8. 5. Bad guys that don’t appear huge and unbeatable, I want to feel like I can win. Our elementalists vs the government? Lol they’re all gonna die, don’t bother fighting. Our group of powerful, high-level mages plus the government of Duchim vs Falkreth? More equal, more of a battle, more of a chance. Prefer more rougeish groups duking it out. Prefer a ‘people’ rather than a bunch of bureaucrats. Don’t like military style.
