- # Response #2 (3/3)
- >[There's no way to tell what time period these two panels take place over, nevertheless the speed at which Jack will be swinging will leave no time for the regen to occur as shown here](https://i.imgur.com/XtRoOFj.jpg)
- Nah, you're wrong about this one. Lady Death can only manifest on Earth for brief moments at a time. It would have to have occurred pretty much right away for her to still be manifested by the time he's done regenerating.
- >[Same thing](https://i.imgur.com/kbnoQ88.jpeg)
- That very scan shows him grabbing Cremator's axe the moment he's slashed. The next panel is him holding the axe, having already healed. This was instant. The sequence makes that clear.
- >[Oh boy a minor scrape being healed instantly, impressive](https://imgur.com/a/6jYkTph)
- If you want to call a brain incision a "minor scrape", then sure.
- The context of every feat shows that these things happen instantly, which is perfectly in line with Ernie's canon, as [instant regeneration](https://imgur.com/a/BMY62dL) is a staple of the character. Your attempts to argue this point aren't going to work.
- >So, you're gonna doubt that Samurai Jack is gonna go all out against someone, who before attacking him, is probably gonna monologue for 5 minutes straight about how good death is, megadeath, and how Jack and everyone he loves will die? I think you and I probably watched two different Samurai Jacks. During said monologue, Jack would probably realize that Ernie is beyond Aku’s evil, and unlike Aku, does not merely want to gain power and enslave the earth, but he wants complete and total omnicide. Jack is not going to hold back here, especially once he realizes that Ernie is nearly on the same power level as him.
- This entire segment hinges on Ernie doing something he never does. Ernie does not monologue. In fact, he has a history of [saying very few words](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/spIHIWr4tHwjFXHllZ3EjRqfYOSijnn7NBDbqGROIHOHPYp1td8vCiC9gpEvHqAw4OWTPoRTdlcq_t0D3f6-WSJr1nZnX_v6VbnPg3jEIVjMH4hdtiExPZpkmcg_LCbJJ1P3pA=s1600) at the beginning of his fights. Whenever it's time to throw down, his approach is "kill on sight".
- No monologue means no time to gauge how evil he is, which means the new sequence of events is *also* not going to pan out the way you say. But there's still two more points I want to tackle.
- >Maybe Ernie lets out a demonic blast or two, shouldn’t matter, Jack can tank it, or move backward/take cover to avoid it (it has no speed feats)
- You've yet to show any feat of energy resistance that's remotely on the same level as vaporizing demons. Because of that, I'm going to conclude that Jack tanking Ernie's energy waves is going to leave him extremely hurt.
- Given that these waves will spew out every time Jack lands an attack with his magic sword, it's going to be more than "a demonic blast or two". He'd also better have some insane running speed if he's going to dodge an AoE blast at point-blank range; the only speed feat you've posted is Jack deflecting bullets which, while impressive, only requires his arms to move.
- >At this point, Jack probably cuts Smiley accidentally, and Ernie loses his powers over time. A losing fight just became a lost fight.
- Three words; freak accident loss.
- Also, Smiley [tanked](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/ppapFMo6zu8jAMemzcfdvYNxibpGc6jqQlmhaBTKpkYgBSbf3XXukyzoxY8fswZ5dN98JhY74y5sJ2vs41PuzRuKcroRXIi4JcrzDBBgpFmpcLHyYOMuBdySQFRuqcT7ZppJzA=s1600) [the nuke](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/PWpwL09vnw-IMtKF2t93mCNrByn3DWLhi2tl_LAxKAZ3ycjwVP_V04rUefPp3mJBWeGptl0YyNSzfQ_kQlRU-yxuEsSzHwrdDGKvf1Itf4CR6gy6SbUltb4utb5DQoXL8JxoDQ=s1600) [that killed Ernie](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/0G-sTzJ8ZUdOIxBjs70ODjeJzUxR78_LC6DcT9nUmEJM2FsHiKbQcej5VeFVRdXdDbDrjuH5wEguxeg_eDS_XG7dc23fAZdmui1nz8ROfkQFMAZshaxCPkzAbhspdQ9ZFKuyPg=s1600), so I think it's safe to say that Jack isn't destroying him anytime soon. Those efforts would be better spent trying to kill Ernie himself.
- Not to mention, [Smiley's capable of attacking too](https://imgur.com/a/1kO5LjY).
- ## Conclusions
- * Ernie is still fast enough not to be blitzed or overwhelmed.
- * Ernie is s
- * Ernie's regen is still going to keep him in the fight for as long as necessary.
- * Jack does not have feats of tanking energy output comparable to Ernie's reactive waves. Every time he hurts Ernie, he will be hurting himself.
- * The new sequence of events given by the opponent is still inaccurate and relies upon stupidity that the character does not possess as well as freak accident potential.
- # The Meta VS Permafrost
- > Meta scales to Carolina, who has dodged bullets before., that’s not enough? Carolina also catches a much faster rocket in her hands. Meta is not lacking on speed (I stipped that Meta vs Carolina feats count, and as such Meta has extensive scaling to Carolina).
- * [This](https://gfycat.com/selfassuredlonelyhind) is not a running feat, so that's irrelevant to my first point. This isn't evidence that he's going to cross twelve meters before Permafrost can do anything.
- * The moment Carolina was ready for him, she [dodged several of his attacks easily and then landed a ton of blows on him before he could fight back](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oG3VfQj7So&t=1m25s). Her [outspeeding him](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oG3VfQj7So&t=1m48s) and [landing multiple hits on him before he can retaliate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oG3VfQj7So&t=2m35s) happens pretty frequently in the fight, especially early on when she hasn't taken any big hits from him yet.
- I think it's safe to say that Meta doesn't actually scale to Carolina's speed at all. She's clearly faster in the fight itself, and in the context of RvB, she appears to have better reaction feats than he does. Maine relied upon his superior strength and durability to keep up in that fight, not speed.
- Between that and his lack of running speed, he's not going to be blitzing anything. Also...
- >If you call missing him 3 times and then hitting him with a lucky shot “tracking” then sure
- I wouldn't say it was a lucky shot at all. Batman consistently dodges shots from groups of gunmen, with them being unable to hit him with a far greater number of projectiles than Static threw out.
- >... Are we really gonna take Batman evading gunfire from random goons as “bullet timing?” The same goons that are constantly shown to be ruthlessly incompetant? I’m gonna chalk this one up to them missing, seems much more logical that assuming Batman is dodging the bullets here.
- Lack of intelligence doesn't equate to lack of aim, nor does it cause gunfire to miss just because the other guy is smarter. That's a non-point masquerading as an excuse to discredit the feat, and if you really believe that to be a solid argument, I can probably say the same about [this goon](https://gfycat.com/selfassuredlonelyhind) and whether or not he can aim at Carolina.
- You don't actually seem to have a solid argument for why the Meta is fast enough to bullrush Permafrost before she can do anything. Most of the arguments presented seem more like you sweeping feats under the rug rather than actually deconstructing why they shouldn't be valid.
- > Meta literally has an entire fight where he’s fighting someone stronger than he is on an icy planet. Feel free to watch the entire thing, you can’t go wrong with Monty Oum’s animation, but here's a relevant part, where he has to run across crumbling pieces of ice to get to the not-collapsing cliff
- That is not ice. [That is snow](http://www.gfycat.com/MediumImmediateFlicker). Unless you're going to tell me that Tex buried a minigun under ice without damaging the ice in the process. Somehow.
- >That’s not enough for you? Freelancer armor comes standard with grav boots, that instantly stick to anything and are (probably) controlled by the user.
- And yet I don't see a single instance of Maine using these. Or, indeed, see them mentioned on his RT at all. Moreover, Carolina's speed is clearly impeded while using those, so if Maine *does* have them, they're going to be more of a hindrance than a boon.
- > He’s shown tanking explosions (its not shown in the video because haha roosterteeth, but here's him getting up soon after and kicking the shit out of Tex, along with gunfire. Normally I would discount gunfire under piercing resistance, but as shown in the RvB and Halo universe, bullets can break rock. I think it's safe to say on the off chance Meta gets hit, he’s not gonna be affected much.
- [This](https://gfycat.com/remarkablereadyhornet) is a pretty pathetic explosion. That looks like something a common grenade or landmine could do, and the Warthog they're sitting in isn't even damaged in the GIF, just tossed to offscreen. Is this feat even remotely in-tier?
- Contrast that with [the size](https://gfycat.com/impressiveminorhagfish) of [the constructs](https://gfycat.com/ajarregulardiplodocus-permafrost) Permafrost makes. There's a big difference between getting hit by a meager explosion and getting hit with a hunk of ice the size of a delivery truck.
- > My argument has not changed. Meta blitzes Permfrost and has no problem shrugging off her blows if he somehow manages to get hit. But just in case, let’s go over two other possible arguments.
- I won't be going over those, because neither of them were the argument I planned on using.
- Once Permafrost has successfully knocked Maine around a few good times (which we now know is going to happen and is going to happen hard), she can start incorporating other attacks; freezes, [tornadoes](https://gfycat.com/simplistichonestassassinbug-permafrost) and [falling icicles](https://gfycat.com/activeconcretedwarfrabbit) bigger than vehicles. Piercing effects will come in handy; those icicles punch their way straight through ice and should have more than enough power to damage Maine through his armor.
- > this domed energy shield, the same one of which was deployed faster, and blocked multiple missiles
- >
- > Oh by the way you can’t attack from the inside, so it's still an in tier power.
- He can't attack from the inside. But *she* can attack *him* while he's inside. She can raise constructs straight from the ground, as evidenced in the first post. Soon as he erects that shield, she proceeds to summon her constructs underneath and bash him against the inside of it with impunity.
- ## Conclusions
- * Meta is still not fast enough to blitz, and his (potential) means of not sliding around on the battlefield will actually hinder his movement further.
- * Permafrost's ranged game is more than enough to beat him down and/or pierce him multiple times before he gets anywhere close to her.
- * If The Meta erects his domed shield, he will have sentenced himself to death.
- Now let's see how these results pan out.
