(So, we divided up the soul into five parts:  Name, Shadow, Dream, Heart, and Determination)
(Shadow:  The mark your actions, and existing is an action, leaves on the external universe)
(Fittingly, it's easier to summarize in negatives.)

(Imagine if I cut you out of all your picture, the hole you leave, and the things you leave behind, and the fact that the pictures exist to begin with, all bare testiment to your existance.)
(That's your shadow.  Someone attacking it would undo the things you have done, or worse, cause them to be forgotten.)
(Your "Name", or "True Name" is the essence of your discreet existance, as a distinct thing, enduring changes mental and biological across time.)
(If you've ever heard the story of the Thesian Ship, the ship that was slowly replaced, one board at a time, the "Name" is the part which remains the same.)

(Your true name, in the wrong hands, can give someone a lot of power over you.)
(The "Dream" is your understanding of reality.)
(It generally takes the form of an internal model of reality; a reflection of everything you know of, or anticipate it, as you percieve it.)

(This is also where the connection between souls, if any, usually occurs.  Contact is involved in psychic communication, dreaming, etc.  It may even occur by accident, in a magically infused world.)
(Think or it like a Mind Palace, which may host visitors, or stage invasions with.)
(The "Heart", is internal counterpart to the soul.  While, the shadow is the external record of your existance, the heart is marked by your internal sturggles.)
("It picks up bagage."  Guilt and loss, as well as love and pride, sink deeply into it.)

(It's not quite the same thing as memory, it doesn't recall how events occured, only what their significance was.)
(Despite this inexactitude, you can learn a lot from looking at someone's Heart.  It's probably the surest possible reference point for moral judgement.)
(Also, messing with it will screw you over just as much as messing with your True Name)
(The last one is "Determination".  That's kind of unique to natural born humans)
(Determination is the quality by which a soul can endure beyond death)
(Note that not every creatures has the last three attributes)
(Determination, in particularly, is actually kind of rare)
