so far with ivory and claire

[23:26] <Claire> With the advent of the holiday breaks, Claire finds herself with lots of extra time on her hands...and a little plan slowly dawns in her mind. With most of a week to go until they all leave to visit Altea's homeworld, she places a call to one Provisional Enforcer Ivory Maddalen.
[23:28] <Ikiryo> There is a reply before long. An ER display appears, revealing Ivory out of uniform. She's dressed in a white halter top and blue jeans. [Hello Claire.]
[23:29] <Claire> [Hey. Are you busy keeping an eye on those two crazies living above you this week?]
[23:35] <Ikiryo> Nike pops her head in the side of the AR display. [Heya!] Ivory gives a small smirk but says nothing.
[23:45] <Claire> [Right then. Hi, Nike. Anyway, I was calling to ask if we could maybe hang out some before we all go see Altea's family on her homeworld.]
[23:48] <Ikiryo> She raises an eyebrow [Define all. I don't think I was invited...but yeah, that would be fun. Any preferences?]
[23:51] <Claire> [Sorry, I meant our squad. Though I'm sure if you wanted to come along I could ask Altea and she'd say yes. But, um, no preferences really. I think there was a park not far from your building? Start there and see what sounds good?]
[23:52] <Ikiryo> [That seems fine and...] She shrugs [Up to you. I'm off and have no plans but it's not required.]
[23:57] <Claire> [...Okay. I'll see what Altea has to say. Meantime, I'll be on my way over.]
[00:08] <Ikiryo> [See you then]
[00:08] <Ikiryo> The park in question is a large area of green in the otherwise grey of the city, lots of trees and fountains and benches.
[00:14] * Claire shows up there about a half-hour after closing the call, wearing a corset-like top in blue with a gray short-sleeve bolero jacket over it and a short, tight black skirt. She scans the benches first for Ivory, and, failing that, the open grassy areas.
[00:15] <Ikiryo> Ivory is waiting there, dressed as she was in the call. She looks over how Claire is dressed and gives a small wave. "Hi."
[00:16] <Claire> "Hey. How's things?" She smiles and waves back, then gives Ivory a light hug around her shoulders.
[00:19] <Ikiryo> Ivory hugs back "Not too bad. Still a little annoyed with how that went down at the contest."
[00:19] <Claire> She nods sympathetically. "Yeah, I can believe it. I'm just glad it didn't go *worse* than it did."
[00:39] <Ikiryo> "Oh? What were you expecting?"
[00:43] <Claire> "Well, I don't know. But when she just up and tried to disqualify you straight away for something that wasn't even within the rules...and all that nonsense."
[00:47] <Ikiryo> She shrugs "I did hit an opponent in the face...oh and I also arrested her." She smiles.
[00:52] <Claire> She grins. "Awesome. I hope that everything wraps up with the investigation so the tournament can finish. I'm curious to see who'd come out on top."
[01:08] <Ikiryo> "Of the tournament or the investigation?"
[01:13] <Claire> "Of the tournament." She grins. "I have every confidence in your and, uh...Slightly Older Enforcer Maddalen's abilities."
[01:20] <Ikiryo> "She's not THAT old..." She blushes heavily "She's twenty five..."

[08:53] <Claire> "I *did* say 'slightly' as part of that," she grins. "But I don't know her first name, and I don't really know HER so using her first name is a bit...presumptuous, and you both have the same last name, so..."
[08:54] <Ikiryo> "...it's Tia...and she's my guardian."
[08:57] <Claire> "So should I call her Guardian Enforcer then?" She grins...then blinks. "That...actually sounds kind of badass."
[08:57] <Ikiryo> She pauses "It does..."
[09:00] <Claire> "Anyway, names aside, I'm sure both of you have things handled, though honestly it wouldn't surprise me for you to get something saying Aynfean has to be released."
[09:03] <Ikiryo> "Already happened." She rolls her eyes.
[09:04] <Ikiryo> She calls up an image of Aynfean leaving the precinct. One hand is bandaged like her fingers have been broken, her suit is torn up and one eye is a blackened mess.
[09:05] * Claire stares at the image for a moment. "...Whoah. Uh, I hope that that doesn't land you both in more trouble."
[09:06] <Ikiryo> "I'm afraid that she resisted arrest." She shrugs...though she smiles. "Enforcers have full authority to use any methods required to bring her to justice. Anyway...the building got off worse when Tia was done with it.

10:40:48 AM	Claire_Nova  "Full authority, huh? So I guess that means if the Enforcers have to get involved, that whatever prompted them to come in must be REALLY bad news."
10:42:54 AM	Ivory  "Generally, yes. We don't get involved in minor crimes...but well, 'Assault of an Enforcer' is a very serious crime. And then she resisted arrest over her assault of an Enforcer." She chuckles.
10:45:11 AM	Claire_Nova  "Adding insult to her own injury, it seems. Is, uh...Tia...okay?"
10:46:04 AM	Ivory  "A dislocated shoulder, a black eye and some heavy bruising...better than I wouldn't have come off, I think."

10:48:13 AM	Claire_Nova  She nods, grinning faintly. "Glad she didn't get worse. Not only would that be terrible, but then we couldn't be hanging out since you'd probably be at home, taking care of her."
10:51:56 AM	 Ivory blushes slightly "Y-Yeah...but Tia knows Aynfean...so her normal tricks don't work on her."
10:53:30 AM	Claire_Nova  "It sounded like it, back there on the field...did they used to be friends?"
10:55:57 AM	Ivory  "...I'm not sure if it went that far. I know they used to be partners, when Aynfean was an Enforcer."
11:03:13 AM	 Claire_Nova stares at Ivory for a looooong moment. "What."
[11:15] <Ikiryo> "Aynfean used to be an Enforcer..."
[11:19] <@Claire> "...That's pretty messed up. But at the same time...I can kind of see it. Let me guess: she got drummed out for unnecessary roughness?"
11:24:22 AM	Ivory  She shakes her head "She quit after a bad protective detail...at least, according to the records."
11:26:35 AM	Claire_Nova  "Right. Well, enough about that nutcase." She takes a deep breath of the park air, eyes closed, then smiles, opening her eyes again. "Anything you want to do out here? My treat."
11:29:48 AM	Ivory  "No a clue. Yourself?"
11:38:39 AM	Claire_Nova  "Hmm." She crosses her arms over her chest, looking around and out to the distance, just in case. "Alright...well, what do you *like* to do? Aside from your job."
11:39:57 AM	Claire_Nova  She holds a hand over her eyes, leaning forward slightly, eyes narrowed. "Is that...did someone build a go-kart thing next to this park? Guess I have to get out more often, too."
11:40:08 AM	Ivory  "Read, Pose Dramaticly on top of buildings, Write." She chuckles. "I don't get out a heap either.'
11:44:04 AM	Claire_Nova  "Alright. Let's go drive little buggys around and crash them into each other."
11:44:28 AM	Ivory  She chuckles. "If you insist."
11:44:53 AM	Claire_Nova  "I do insist~"
11:54:05 AM	Claire_Nova  An hour or so later, they exit the go-kart arena, Claire shaking stinging fingers on her left hand. "You know, I wasn't even sure it was possible to turn that into a competition. And seriously, did you HAVE to flip my car upside down? If I didn't get my hand in the way to get off my flight spell..."
11:57:34 AM	Ivory  "You started it with the shots when I was in the lead." She laughs, grinning
12:01:26 PM	Claire_Nova  "That wasn't shots, that was fireworks!" she complains, sounding like a line she's delivered ten times already.
12:02:33 PM	Ivory  "You hit me with them. At that point, it's shots."
12:03:38 PM	Claire_Nova  "It was an accident, an accident~!" She groans.

12:04:48 PM	Claire_Nova  "Considering you trapped me against the wall in the first one? I didn't feel too bad about it, no." She sticks her tongue out.
12:07:44 PM	Ivory  "And I don't feel too bad about flipping you on the third." She sticks her own tongue out in turn.
12:10:46 PM	Claire_Nova  "Fine, fine, I deserved it." She pauses. "Meanie."
12:11:33 PM	Ivory  "Meanie? Really? Are we six?"
12:12:12 PM	Claire_Nova  "Sometimes. Also I blame my roommate. Most of a year together, you're bound to pick up some mannerisms."
12:12:38 PM	Ivory  "That's...Tazzari?"
12:13:00 PM	Claire_Nova  "Wow, no wonder you're in the biz you're in," she teases. "How ever did you deduce that?"
12:14:44 PM	Ivory  "Thie childishness meant Tazzari or Altea but you called me names rather than punching me in the face."
12:16:44 PM	Claire_Nova  She giggles at that. "Got it in one."
12:17:12 PM	Ivory  "I'll take the names more happily than a broken nose."
12:19:03 PM	Claire_Nova  "Well, I'll try to remember to act my age."
12:21:01 PM	Ivory  "I'd do likewise, if I knew it. The tests say nineteen...ish, at least. Could be twenty one, could be seventeen." She shrugs.
[12:24] <@Claire> "Oh? You might actually be younger than me?" She grins. "All that talk about busting Alexa for having a beer at Nike and Theia's..."
[12:28] <Ikiryo> "My certificate says nineteen, so that's good enough for the law." She sticks out her tongue.
[12:30] <@Claire> "Fair enough. That'll be me in a couple of months too." She shrugs. "So, uh...if it's not too weird to ask...how long have you and Tia been...y'know." She makes a vague gesture.
[12:31] <Ikiryo> "How long has she been my guardian?"
[12:32] <@Claire> "Well, I was going to say 'a little family thing' but yeah, close enough."
[12:33] <Ikiryo> "Four years, give or take a little."
[12:38] <@Claire> She nods. "Okay, neat. I like her, she seems pretty awesome even though I've only really met her, like, twice."
[12:39] <Ikiryo> She nods and blushes "She's amazing...I hope I can be that good one day."
[12:41] <@Claire> "Well, for what it's worth...I think you're well on your way." She claps Ivory on a shoulder and smiles.
12:43:04 PM	Ivory  Ivory smiles "Thanks...but you havn't seen her in action."
12:46:26 PM	Claire_Nova  "Well, no...but I could say the same for some other people we'd like to emulate, and I want to be like them, and..." She makes a face. "...You know, I forgot where I was going with that.

12:47:31 PM	Ivory  "I have not a single clue." She shrugs.
12:48:35 PM	Claire_Nova  "Well, you're good at your job, but you're not a mind reader. At least I don't THINK you are." She peers sideways at Ivory in mock-suspicion.
12:50:03 PM	Ivory  "No, I'm not. I also can't really turn into a ghost, that's just illusions and shadow manipulation."
12:52:56 PM	 Claire_Nova grins widely. "Nuts. That would have been pretty cool. Anyway, you're really talented with the shadow stuff you can do. It's pretty unique."
12:54:45 PM	Ivory  She nods "It's a rare skill, apparently. Tia's is more impressive."
12:57:37 PM	Claire_Nova  "Y'know," she says wryly, giving Ivory a level look, "you can't really complain about too much, being blessed with a special skill like that. Leave that for vanilla mages like me. Or, well, I guess, like I was before I met Tis."
12:59:23 PM	Ivory  "Yeah, you don't get to complain miss 'I have a unison device'."
1:03:42 PM	 Claire_Nova rolls her eyes. "Yes, yes, I know. Actually...I feel bad for her, more than anything."
1:04:31 PM	Ivory  "Oh?"
1:05:14 PM	Claire_Nova  "Well, yeah, 'cause she's--actually...how much of this whole situation with the Hyperion girls do you know?"
1:06:24 PM	Ivory  "Most of it. At least, most of it that Nike and Theia know."
1:07:33 PM	Claire_Nova  "Okay. So, like, you know about who Indra was and all that."
1:08:14 PM	 Ivory nods "Yeah."
1:09:30 PM	Claire_Nova  She nods, too. "That's who's inside Tisiphone. A fragment of her core personality, a decent-sized chunk of her memories...all that wrapped up with the idiot subservience of a basic storage device that us trainees get issued if we don't have anything else."
1:11:52 PM	Claire_Nova  "She's like a little sister of Indra, instead of a copy, and the constant mood shifts from her normal polite self to the vapid 'Yes, Mistress' this and 'Okay, Mistress, whatever you say' that are kind of irking both of us."
1:12:47 PM	Claire_Nova  "And then to find out that SOMEbody"--she looks up at the sky at that--"smashed up the netrod that was supposed to have Indra's backup on it..."
1:14:32 PM	Ivory  "...ouch."
1:16:35 PM	Claire_Nova  "Yeah. So...I've been trying to help her through all of this. I think, when we go to Altea's home planet next week, that'll help her out some."
1:16:57 PM	Ivory  "Rather than trying to intergrate the two parts together?"
1:17:21 PM	Claire_Nova  "Well, that's what I've been trying to help her with."
1:17:58 PM	Ivory  "I meant the servant part." She looks a bit uncomfortable.
1:20:47 PM	Claire_Nova  "Oh. Yeah. I'm...well, the same person who ensured her survival by...um, "installing" Tis into the device, said something like she couldn't take that part out without like lobotomizing Tis. So every chance I get, I'm trying to get her to prioritize her own opinions and wants over what I say. It...*sometimes* works."
1:22:14 PM	Ivory  She nods "Better some times than no times."
1:24:42 PM	 Claire_Nova agrees fervently. "So yeah. That's why I feel bad for her--to be...reduced like that, and on top of that, to have to deal with unwanted impulses to just be a slave."
1:26:09 PM	Ivory  "I wish I could help...but that's vastly outside my area of expertise. Still, if I can at any point..."
1:29:30 PM	Claire_Nova  "I'll look you up, thanks." She smiles. "Anyway, enough about being depressing. What about you? Any other fun things going on besides babysitting the alien troublemakers?"
1:30:46 PM	Ivory  "Not really, no. Paperwork, dealing with them...paperwork about stuff they do and damage."
1:32:49 PM	Claire_Nova  She chuckles. "Figures, doesn't it, that of those that could have been not arrested, it had to be Nike and Theia."
1:33:22 PM	Ivory  "Not been arrested YET." She rolls her eyes.
1:37:18 PM	Claire_Nova  The chuckling turns into giggling. "Too many bar fights and street races?"

1:43:47 PM	 Claire_Nova shakes her head. "If I didn't think it'd get us ALL in trouble I'd offer to take them off your hands for a little while."
1:47:09 PM	Ivory  "That and I think the number of mages Theia doesn't want to shoot on sight can be measured on one hand."
