  2. ----
  3. There was a theory that Hell's "all a lie".
  4.
  5. According to some theologians, Satan (then Satanel) may also have been an angel, or a primordial being looking for a purpose, and finding it in his service to God, until the Creation inevitably brought the to blows.
  6. Beyond the Ars Goetia Demons, and those associated with the Seven Deadly Sins, there are four names worth remembering alongside Lucifer's: Azazel, a fallen angel who taught dark magics to the humans, so he could've been either the brain or the trickster of the group, Abbadon A.K.A. Apollyon, who was tempted away from God by Lilith, and is pretty much the heavy hitter, Samael, the accuser, who's something of a neutral figure or necessary evil, and Satanel himself.
  7. All of them were angels, and while Lucifer was the leader of the group, only Satanel, now Satan, serves as a true counterpart to him.
  8. Unlike the others, he doesn't revel or regret not being in God's grace - that's just his default state.
  9. He is the Accuser, without grace - unlike God, who only punishes with grace, and offers mercy, he punishes because he likes it. So, rather than a chaotic force, he's essentially a sadist, someone who knows God's word by heart, and revels in doling out punishment for it - Hell simply gave him a place to do this and a purpose within God's plan: the counterpoint to keep Humanity within God's grace (and conveniently, a demonstration as to why God is Good: while he hadn't forgiven the rebels, he had shown them mercy, allowing them to exist and continue to operate, away from his grace, when he could've easily destroyed them).
  10. Meanwhile, Lucifer and the others found purpose ad well: Lucifer, the Light bringer, God's former taskmaster, made himself busy running Hell as a King, Samael guards the entrance, Apollyon acts as a general source of destruction (possibly to cope with falling from God's grace), and Azazel is no doubt the schemer. The latter and Satan may be the ones pulling the strings.

  12. Thanks.
  13. Do you have the paste about that theory that Hell is a lie, and Luci isn't a fallen angel, just doing the task God gave him?
  14.
  15. You could add this to that.
  16. --
  17. >Do you have the paste about that theory that Hell is a lie, and Luci isn't a fallen angel, just doing the task God gave him?
  18.
  19. the what now?
  20. --
  21. I was the one who wrote it, and I think it was pastebinned, but I couldn't find it on the list, or among killwolf's saved pastes, either.
  22. The idea is that Lucifer isn't a fallen angel, the demons aren't damned, Hell's the way it is because it's a dumping ground for human sinners that Lucifer has to look after.
  23. The War in Heaven?
  24. All a lie, a dynamic created by God, when Luci and the other angels pointed out some flaws in Creation, and God decided to put it to the test.
  25. There's no real animosity between Heaven and Hell, it's all just a ruse to see where are humans more likely to end up.
  26. The demonic appearance of the "fallen" angels and Ars Goetia demons are just disguises, and all the suffering in Hell is self-inflicted, with the Overlords reaping the benefits, while the "aristocracy" just watches with bemusement or dismay.
  27. I even asked a drawfriend who was present at the time to illustrate a scene where Charlie walks in on her parents with them not having their demonic apparel on, revealing their Heavenly nature (see pic related).

  29. >I was the one who wrote it, and I think it was pastebinned, but I couldn't find it on the list, or among killwolf's saved pastes, either.
  30.
  31. do you remember the name of it?
  32. --
  33. I'm not sure... Maybe it was saved together with other ideas from that thread.
  34. But it was an old one, around the time when drawfriend was still present, or had only recently left...
  35. ---
  36. FOUND IT!
  37. From the top!
  38.
  39. so, hell alway get overpopulated and the Exterminators in a year. have to start genocide on Hell's population.
  40.
  41. ...does that mean Heaven is underpopulated?.....
  42. -
  43. If the insufferably-smug-yet-childishly-angry folks waving the picket signs around on campus are to be believed, the requirements for actually getting into heaven are ludicrously stringent. I wouldn't be surprised if heaven had maybe ten or twelve people in it at most.
  44. -
  45. Presumably yes. Surprisingly, there's not a lot of "good people" by Christianity standards in the world, and they definitely don't die nearly as often. That being said, everyone, there is probably an Exterminator because fuck it why bother selecting specific people to commit mass genocide when you barely have any to in the first place.
  46. -
  47. I doubt that if there's a heaven you have to be perfect. Most just want to get through life with as little friction as possible. I guess you could argue many may end up in purgatory. If heaven is so stuck up only perfect people can get in I'd rather go to purgatory anyway. All my family and friends would likely be there anyway. Purgatory has videogames and furry porn right? I'd be fine.
  48. -
  49. Purgatory is the afterlife version if a boring suburb where nothing interesting happens
  50. -
  51. It depends on the type. Purgatory could just be the halfway house between heaven and hell, like (the post above) says.
  52. At the same time, it could also be like the classical Algihieri style where escapees from hell overcame their sins and just sorta chill on the shore or try to make it to the top. My money is on the halfway point. Mostly because I'm honestly terrified of Heaven being boring.
  53.
  54. Cont.
  55. -
  56. My two cents
  57. >sinning is becoming more and more common on Earth every once in a while
  58. >during these times Heaven is "boring", being a good person is "boring" or even looked down upon or worse
  59. >souls in Heaven stay but can choose to fade and achieving Nirvana
  60. >souls in Hell can choose to reincarnate but lose all memory of their previous life
  61. >so Lucifer made it "preferable" to stay, because he thinks Earth is always "overpopulated"
  62. >because he hates that one commandment is multiplying
  63. >because he hates all commandments, he wants everyone to believe being good is boring or bad
  64. I have a question: is there actually a purgatory in the Bible?
  65.
  66. Cont.
  67. -
  68. Not in the Bible, and the idea is either accept, rejected, or implied by various denominations.
  69. -
  70. Good to know, thanks. Since I've heard about walls being a demand in the Books I wanted to read them myself and see how much we believe in is actually a written thing. Did you know the Riders of the Apocalypse are actually under God's command? They're "the good guys" and you always hear the opposite in TV. This is making me think.
  71. -
  72. I assume you're talking about strong borders.
  73. yes. yes, borders are a positive value in the scripture.
  74.
  75. Cont.
  76. -
  77. Technically speaking, the whole "it's all in God's plan" implies that even the existence and activity of the Devil is simply part of the whole deal.
  78.
  79. Which leads to...
  80.
  81. >what if Lucifer never fell?
  82. >what if the flaw of mortality was always part of the system, and all Lucifer and his followers did was just point it out, prompting God to put his greatest creation, the first humans, to the test?
  83. >what if Lilith simply wanted to be among the angels, closer to God, rather than rejecting Adam wholesale?
  84. >what if, after Lilith had ascended, and Eve was created, God had Lucifer and Samael tempt the two into breaking the only restriction in Paradise?
  85. >what if the entire battle of the Heavens was just a ruse, and God had simply entrusted Lucifer - his most trusted angel, the brightest of his creations before man - to pose as his "nemesis", and represent every vice, so that the "flaw" of humanity - turning away from God - can be measured in a controlled manner, by offering them something(s) other to worship?
  86. >what if, despite all this time, Lucifer and all the other nobles and royals of Hell are still the very same angels that willingly left Heaven behind, only posing as demons, and only maintaining the facade of Hell, while it is the formerly human sinners who fill it with vice, sin, and suffering?
  87. >what Lucifer's cynicism of Charlie's project stems from the fact that he had seen just HOW humans act in the name of Go(o)d, and how evil they can become without his help
  88. >what if, after all this time, the biggest lie the "Prince of Lies" ever told was that he, in fact, is the Devil himself - when he, as a matter of fact, is still an Archangel, and Lilith is still just a human - albeit an ascended one, given both knowledge and immortality to be able to help Lucifer and the other angels in "managing" humanity?
  89.
  90. >...And what if...
  91.
  92. What if Charlie finds out that she is, in fact, an angel?
  93. Or nephilim or whatever, just not a demon as she (and everyone else) thought.
  94. -
  95. technically, Lilith is a human.
  96. yes, technically Charlie Magne is a nephil.
  97. -
  98. Yeah, but if we rely on technicalities, this can go two ways:
  99. Either A) Charlie is the daughter of a (fallen) angel and a human woman, making her a nephilim,
  100. or B) she's the daughter of the Devil and a human woman, but, since she'd defying her father, she's effectively the Anti-Antichrist.
  101. -
  102. a nephil. nephilim is plural. Hebrew is easy because Arabic has this horrible random plural.
  103. also, I don't think she's an anti-anti-Christ. the opposite of the opposite of something is this something. it's tautological. she isn't the Christ.
  104. though, I like the quirky idea she'd believe in God. who knows, maybe her mother had really nothing bad to say about him when they have mother-daughter time?
  105. -
  106. The whole Anti-Antichrist thing is a more surface-level assumption - basically that she'll rebel against her father (much like how he did against God), and will be willing to sacrifice herself for the good of others (who would come to view her as a messiah of sorts), siding with Heaven in the Final Battle.
  107.
  108. I think being the daughter of the Devil would automatically make her believe in God (the big man IS technically her grandfather), but not necessarily that he's good.
  109.
  110. And yeah, Lilith doesn't strike me as the sort to hold grudges (you have her husband for that) She only really took issue with being subservient to Adam, and she got the sweet end of the whole "Fall" ordeal, being away from God's grace notwithstanding.
  111. -
  112. ...And that was the end of that discussion.
