CTG: (( feel free to edit this, but in my head, there are two leaders to a school. an alpha, who can be either male or female, and is determined simply by challenging and beating the previous alpha in a fight. theyre like a war leader, dictating hunts for food, and raids against other schools. and then an elder, whom in my head is always female and is the wisest(usually oldest) in the school. like a matriarch. she generally would preside over more social matters within the school, and politics with other schools such as forming alliances. her orders trump the alpha's orders, but most usually simply advise the alpha, whom very rarely goes against her advise. ))

CBD: ((And of course there are fighting fish who primarily protect the tribe from threats but also join in on hunts.))

CTG: (( (( also, raids on other schools would typically happen if rescources are low in the area(and sometimes not, if a particular school is being greedy). the warriors and hunters of one school will attack another, killing whom they can and stealing rescources ))
CBD: ((If I remember correctly we had them as semi-nomadic in nature, moving with the tides and the food but settling long enough to build up small structures.))
CTG: (( and if they come across eggs or small abandoned babby merfolk while raiding, they would typically either kill or steal them ))
CTG: (( to decrease the raided school's population, and increase their own ))
