  2. So, You Want To Make Money: A Trading/Jewing Guide: The Movie: The Video Game
  3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. (This thing's gonna' have a few links in it, so bear with me, fags.)
  6.
  7. NOTE: If you're seriously reading this, you obviously have no problem with cheating kids out of their computer pixels, so I want no moralfags bitching.
  8.
  9. NOW THEN, trading first.
  10.
  11. -ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS JESUS FUCKING CHRIST KNOW THE PRICE OF AN ITEM ACCORDING TO BACKPACK.TF:
  12. http://backpack.tf/
  13. "But it's all a big scam and the guy who runs it is taking everyone for rides and bloo hoo I want cheap shit"
  14. TOUGH COOKIES SON. It's what everyone goes by. If someone makes fun of you for using spreadsheet prices, chances are he was trying to Jew you and got called out.
  15.
  16. -However also and stuff, you'll have to be a little lenient when trading. A little extra for something they don't really want to give away and a little less to help a bro out, ya' know? The spreadsheet prices are bases and can be a little bit flexible.
  17.
  18. -Regardless of the mean names /vg/ has called you, they're usually pretty honest /v/irgin to /v/irgin when it comes to trade advice. If you aren't sure about a trade, pop into the TF2 general thread on /vg/. Someone will help you, usually...maybe.
  19.
  20. -/vg/, however, may not be the best place to trade. TF2 Outpost (http://www.tf2outpost.com/) is filled with scammers, but it's probably a decent place to try. Barring that, trade servers are usually pretty decent.
  21.
  22. -I would actually know the fucking basics of any economy and take advantge of the lessons you learn, i.e. when things first come out they are going to be expensive as shit. This leads into Jewing.
  23.
  24. -If you're going to be trading some high-tier shit or real life Jew dollars, you'll probably want something like a middleman that you can both agree on. Always run the person you're trading with through other people, to make sure they aren't a scammer. And take documentation for when you eventually get scammed anyway, you overtrusting nigger.
  25.
  26. -When you get a price like "1.33" that means 1 refined metal (the 1) and 1 reclaimed metal (.33). No one usually works in scraps unless you're scrapbanking with weapons.
  27.
  28. -If you unbox an Unusual, check out it's price first. Chances are if you unbox an Unusual, you will get trade requests, with almost all of them being Jews/Scammers.
  29.
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31. EY GOYIM, THIS GUY TRIED TO TAKE AN EXTRA SCRAP OFF ME! WHAT A PATOOSHKA.
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. -To maximize your Jewing, you'll need a scanner.
  35. *I happen to enjoy using this one: http://up-to-no-good.appspot.com/
  36. *Since GHP got shut down to the, you can either pay for GEP and get access to GHP again or you can pay for HatsDB or you can pay for Jessecar's scanner. Note that Jesse's scanner is much cheaper than the other two, at the price of being written by an underaged scriptkiddie.
  37.
  38. -A scanner lets you view everyone in your servers' backpacks. Simply join a server, open the console, type "status" with no quotes, and copy what you get into the scanner's field. Set what you want to search for, and scan away to your heart's content.
  39.
  40. -Jewing is all about being a smooth talker at the right times. Hop in a server and scan the local BPs. Once you find something, offer a trade. If they decline, go through some others and wait until the round ends or whatever, then try again. Chances are better that they aren't getting toasted by a Pyro and will accept.
  41.
  42. -I like to keep all my drops rather than crafting them. Many a hat has been won by having the one weapon some kiddie really wanted.
  43.
  44. -Picking your targets requires, above all, luck. I personally don't go for anyone over 200 hours unless they have an unusual. The state of their BP (organized ones are usually a bad sign) also accounts for something, and can help save you time if you're pressed/bored.
  45.
  46. -What servers should I be looking for?
  47. SKIALS AND VALVES AND 2FORTS AND INSTANT RESPAWNS
  48.
  49. -Steps to your Jewin'.
  50. 1. Greet the person. Let them know that you want to trade.
  51. 2. If they can't trade, immediately drop them, the F2P scum.
  52. 3. Lay out what you want from them to see if they even want to trade it.
  53. 4. Offer something of much lower value. If they call you out on it, then laugh it off and deal with another lost target.
  54.
  55. -Things you'll want to cheat unsuspecting children out of:
  56. *Name and Desc. Tag: These are always in high demand and sell for at least a ref per. There seem to be a good amount of them dropped, too.
  57. *Decal Tools and Paints: Most of the paints you'll get will be shitty, but they make great items for Jewing other kiddies. And someone always needs a Decal Tool.
  58. *Hats and Miscs: This is the main course. Normal hats are your mian target, but if you get stuck with an uncraftable (dirty) hat, then use it to Jew your way to a normal or better hat.
  59. *Unusuals: Never let these go. Remember that 8 normal hats are still worth way less than an unusual.
  60.
  61. ---------------------------------------------------------
  62. BUT WAIT! MINE HAS GREEN CONFETTI! SO I HAVE MORE SKILL!
  63. ---------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. -Once you start leading your own synagogue, it's time to move to unusuals and their ilk. While I'm not going to go over all the possible effects, that tier list, and the possible hats (it's on the spreadsheet), I will go over some basic stuff covering unusuals.
  66.
  67. -The hat is more important than the effect. A Sunbeams Hard Counter? Eh. A Green Fetti Team Captain? HOLY SHIT I'LL TAKE TEN
  68.
  69. -Themed hats, like flames on a Pyro hat or Nuts and Bolts for Engi hats, typically sell for a bit more.
  70.
  71. -A lot of the price depends on the buyer and seller. If the seller doesn't really like it, he'll go lower and the buyer will go higher if he really likes it. This is important so remember it.
  72.
  73. -Prices can range anywhere from a Little above Bill's (about $15+/-) to $1500 (Flaming Team Captain). God knows why people like their pixels so much, but they do.
