[Overture] Commander Gemini

[20:51] Kiran: A half-hour to an hour later, after Kiran has conveyed the remainder of the Pathfinders' encounter with Freedom Day and the discovery that a gang of Dominion kobolds were chasing thieves and fugitives from the draconic Everdark nation, he will depart Libra's tent and make his way to visit Gemini.
[20:52] SwaDM: Oh god. Walking. WALKING. Oh hey, Riding! Weeee- until it stops. It's a trek, but Kiran can make it, with Gemini currently not being connected to GEM-02 directly, though he can still hear the absolute fast-paced stream of babble and incoherent notice that both of them are trading all at once.
[20:52] SwaDM: Still at GEM-02's core chamber, of course.
[20:54] Kiran: Hm.
[20:54] Kiran: Kiran knocks at the edge of the chamber for GEM-02's benefit, and sends out a querying emotional note through the empathic link for Gemini's.
[20:55] SwaDM: The rapid exchange suddenly pauses - immediately.
[20:55] SwaDM: The floating Gemini turns slightly towards the door.
[20:55] SwaDM: "User Kiran. Your  approach been noted eight minutes and thirty-seven seconds ago."
[20:56] Kiran: "Yeah, it's a pretty long way up. How is the exchange of data going?"
[20:56] Kiran: "Also hello, GEM-02."
[20:56] SwaDM: Gemini : "Productive."
[20:57] SwaDM: GEM-02's voice is louder, with the tiniest tinge of a femiine voice to it. "Ongoing. Hostilities have been temporarely suspended."
[20:57] Kiran: "That's excellent news. I hope you're deriving value from it, GEM-02."
[20:58] SwaDM: GEM-02: "Current value of data classified as ≥0."
[20:59] Kiran: "That counts."
[21:00] Kiran: "Anyway. I, uh. You know, this is probably as fine a venue as any for it. Gemini, I have something for you, if you have a moment."
[21:01] SwaDM: Gemini : "Affirmative. Pause in data transferral is deemed acceptable. We had begun engaging in suboptimal data exchange methods to allow processing of background information to proceed at a greater pace."
[21:01] Kiran: "Great!"
[21:02] Kiran: heads through the room to reach Gemini, skirting around the holes in the structure of it.
[21:03] SwaDM: Admittedly the holes have been patched up. The room is no longer an outright hazard.
[21:03] Kiran: ... Kiran skirts them anyway. He knows Gemini's sense of humour well enough not to entirely trust GEM-02's.
[21:05] SwaDM: Kiran does not fall.
[21:07] Kiran: "So. Sperans don't really do... formal recognition of service rendered during times of war. Beyond thanking people, maybe giving them more resources."
[21:08] Kiran: sets himself down next to the floating construct.
[21:08] SwaDM: "Affirmative. Military organization of currently assembled forces has been determined as insufficient."
[21:08] SwaDM: "Grading at 3.3 out of 10."
[21:08] SwaDM: GEM.02 : "1.7 out of 10."
[21:08] Kiran: "Yeah. So, I decided that I would change one small facet of that."
[21:09] Kiran: reaches into his pouch and retrieves a small, polished, gunmetal box with a hinge, and holds it in front of Gemini.
[21:09] Kiran: opens it.
[21:09] SwaDM: Gemini tilts it's chassis slightly.
[21:12] Kiran: The box, cushioned internally, contains a small cross-shaped metal medal of silvery metal, on a short white-and-gold ribbon. The medal itself features the Speran symbol engraved at its centre.
[21:12] Kiran: "This is the first Distinguished Service Medal that's ever been awarded to a Speran operative. In recognition of everything you've done for us - from when we first met, to when you were instrumental in supporting us to navigate the fight with the unit Aukoti was piloting."
[21:13] SwaDM: "Query."
[21:13] Kiran: "Proceed."
[21:13] SwaDM: "This is the first awarded medal to a Speran unit, then?"
[21:13] Kiran: "Yes it is."
[21:14] SwaDM: "Extrapolation : Due to the lack of military structure on current forces, logic would dictate that seniority would be dictated by commendatoins."
[21:14] SwaDM: "Conclusion : We are now the most decorated Speran unit - and henceforth, supreme commander of the Speran forces."
[21:14] Kiran: breaks into a smile as, for once, he sees the joke coming.
[21:14] Kiran: "We can take that one up with Spera, if you like."
[21:15] SwaDM: "Affirmative. We shall lead this organization into victory."
[21:15] Kiran: "I have no doubt."
[21:15] SwaDM: "Suspending sarcasm modules."
[21:16] SwaDM: "The gesture is appreciated, User Kiran."
[21:16] Kiran: "You deserve it."
[21:16] Kiran: "Oh. And - best part of it."
[21:16] SwaDM: "It's magnetized?"
[21:16] Kiran: tilts the medal to reveal the other side.
[21:16] Kiran: "Absolutely is."
[21:17] SwaDM: Gemini would check said other side, of course.
[21:17] Kiran: There is indeed a small disc-shaped dark metal attachment on its back face.
[21:18] SwaDM: "Excellent. We accept this commendation."
[21:18] Kiran: "May I?"
[21:18] SwaDM: "Affirmative."
[21:19] Kiran: carefully clicks it onto the 'shoulder' mount of one of Gemini's chain guns, before laying the ribbon over its circumference, similarly clipping it into place with a second magnet.
[21:19] SwaDM: The tiny chainguns begin whirring, as Gemini clearly tests if they function with the attachment, before winding them down.
[21:19] SwaDM: "Full effectiveness of offensive armaments confirmed."
[21:20] Kiran: "Good."
[21:20] SwaDM: "Extrapolation."
[21:20] SwaDM: "Data exchange with GEM-02 has currently been considered sufficient. Should it require, we are able to  deploy with User Kiran."
[21:20] SwaDM: "Temporary Ceasefire protocols have been agreed upon for the time being."
[21:21] Kiran: "That's great news. I'll feel a lot better having you along."
[21:21] SwaDM: "Affirmative. We are the only commended Speran unit.'
[21:21] SwaDM: "That is to be expected."
[21:21] Kiran: "Heh. Yeah, that too."
[21:22] Kiran: "You feeling ready?"
[21:22] SwaDM: "Affirmative."
[21:23] Kiran: "Good. If you'd like to stay here and talk with GEM-02 some more, by all means do. I've got one more stop to make before I turn in for the night - I'm going to try to catch up with Nyakoto."
[21:23] SwaDM: "Affirmative. We will remain here for now, but reconvene with user later."
[21:24] Kiran: "Okay. Have fun!"
[21:24] SwaDM: "Fun unlikely. But affirmative."
[21:24] Kiran: "And - thank you, again."
