INTRODUCING THE EDGEWORTH20!

**WHAT IS THE EDGEWORTH20?**
The Edgeworth20 is a community event, for Melvins, which will introduce a variety of different NES speedruns into your life.  The event was created by Edgeworth (twitch.tv/Edgestream) as an alternative to "The Big 20" (Much like how Neerrmcon was an alternative to The RGL 7 RPG Speedrun event).  The list of games features 20 NES titles with REAL speedrun categories to submit times for.

The goal is to establish and submit a time for the 20 different games.  If you are looking for something different to do, like friendly competitions, want more variety for your stream, or enjoy learning new things, then you will enjoy this event!


**HOW IS THIS A COMMUNITY EVENT?**
The community part of this event comes from opening the challenge up to everyone.  This will not be an "AngryLarry" thing, everyone is welcome and encouraged to see what times they can achieve.  There will be a point system and leaderboard as well.  You do not have to participate in all 20 games however.  You can pick and choose which ones you want to do.  There may be games you don't want to play, games you will only play to the goal one time, and games you will grind for a little while as well.


**WHEN DOES IT START?**
The event will start on October 20th.


**WHERE IS THE LIST OF GAMES?**
One game will be announced each Monday.  Anyone who wants to participate for that week has until the time the game is announced until two weeks to record a time.


**HOW DO I SUBMIT A TIME**
You can simply post a link to your run in the #Edgeworth20 channel in The AngryLarryGaming Discord server.  Highlighted videos on Twitch or links to the video on YouTube preferred.


**WILL THIS BE RESTREAMED?**
NO.  This is not an event that will be restreamed.


**HOW DO THE POINTS WORK?**
Individual Game: Highest score for the week gets 9999.  Everyone else gets a LARSCORE of 9999 - ((9999/leaders time in seconds, rounded up to nearest whole number) * (difference in seconds between your time and the leader's))

EXAMPLE: Leader has a time of 5:15 (315 seconds) and you have a time of 6:00 (360 seconds, 45 seconds behind leader)
Leader gets 9999
You get 9999 - ((9999/315) * 45) = 8559

Overall Standings will be the sum of the best 8 scores you post for the duration of the event.


**WHY BEST 8?**
We want to encourage people to play but not make people participate every week.  Best 8 (out of 20) seems like the right amount of games for people to need to play to participate in the overall standings.  With a "best 8" format people can participate where they want and, for those who play more, can try to best their score without an overall risk.

Hopefully this encourages people to participate just enough to be eligible for the overall season standings and/or participate more to best their scores after being eligible.


**HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?**
Joining is as simple as being a part of The AngryLarry community on Discord.  That is where we gather to discuss the games and where we submit our scores.
