- If life is an ocean, I brave the storms
- Careening wildly from port to port
- To find only temporary refuge in these docks
- Before I return to the waters.
- With each visit, I enjoy my time
- Away from the swelling waves
- But the ocean is a jealous mistress
- And she cannot be forgotten long.
- So I return to her, quicker than desired
- To ride the curves of her body
- To brave the choppy waters of her anger
- And I dream fondly of each port I call home.
- If life is an ocean, I welcome the storms
- For it is the storms that drive us to port,
- Bringing us together, binding our lives,
- If only 'til the waves calm and life claims us once more.
