  13.
  14. ##### TAG_ship_names.txt #####
  15.
  16. ### This is an example, read below for the details. All the way at the bottom will be a completed example.
  17.
  18. TAG_NAME_LIST = {
  19. name = NAME_THEME_NAME_LIST
  20.
  21. for_countries = { TAG }
  22.
  23. can_use = {
  24. not = { has_government = communism }
  25. }
  26.
  27. type = ship
  28. ship_types = { ship_hull_submarine submarine ship_hull_light destroyer ship_hull_cruiser light_cruiser heavy_cruiser ship_hull_heavy battle_cruiser battleship ship_hull_carrier carrier }
  29.
  30. prefix = "Prfx. "
  31. fallback_name = "Prfx. Generic Name %d"
  32.
  33. unique = {
  34. "First Name" "Second Name" "Third Name"
  35. }
  36. }
  37.
  38. #####
  39.
  40. ### TAG_NAME_LIST = { ... }
  41. ### this is the system's name for the name list, this must be unique. Usually it is named after the country tag, followed by the name lists name.
  42.
  43. ### name = ...
  44. ### This is used for localization, which is a separate file.
  45.
  46. ### for_countries = { ... }
  47. ### Which countries can use this name list, can include multiple tags (a tag is a three letter code for a country).
  48.
  49. ### can_use = { ... }
  50. ### Use this to deny or allow the use of this name list in certain situations, in this case this name list can NOT be used when you are communist.
  51.
  52. ### Type = ship
  53. ### what type of equipment you're making this for.
  54.
  55. ### ship_types = { ... }
  56. ### which types of ship you want the name list to be used for, all of the types are listed in the example. Remove this if you want it
  57.
  58. ### prefix = "..."
  59. ### whatever shows up in front of the names, like "HMS" for british ships, "Hr.Ms." for Dutch, "USS" for the USA, etc.
  60.
  61. ### fallback_name = "..."
  62. ### When all the names have been used up it will resort to using this name, if you want to use numbers, use "%d" for numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) and "%s" for roman numerals (I, II, III, IV, V, etc.). if you use a prefix, make sure it's added here as well.
  63.
  64. ### unique = { "..." "..." "..." }
  65. ### here is where all your names go, your set prefix isn't needed here.
  66.
  67. ### this is for 1 name list, repeat the process for any additional name lists.
  68.
  69. ##### finished example #####
  70.
  71. HOL_FISH_SUB = {
  72. name = HOL_NAME_THEME_FISH_SUB
  73.
  74. for_countries = { HOL }
  75.
  76. type = ship
  77. ship_types = { ship_hull_submarine submarine }
  78.
  79. prefix = "Hr.Ms. "
  80. fallback_name = "Hr.Ms. Onderzeeboot %d"
  81.
  82. unique = {
  83. "Dolfijn" "Zeehond" "Zwaardvis" "Tijgerhaai" "Walrus" "Zeeleeuw" "Potvis" "Tonijn" "Bruinvis" "Hamerhaai" "Orca" "Walvis" "Platvis" "Barracuda" "Octopus" "Leeuwvis" "Zeeslang" "Kogelvis" "Aal" "Steenvis" "Hengelvis" "Rog" "Murenen" "Vinvis"
  84. }
  85. }
  86.
  87. ##### TAG_ship_names_l_english.yml #####
  88.
  89. ### .yml files can easily be edited with any text editing software, like notepad.
  90.
  91. l_english:
  92. TAG_NAME_THEME_FIRST_NAME_LIST:0 "First Name List"
  93. TAG_NAME_THEME_SECOND_NAME_LIST:0 "Second Name List"
  94. TAG_NAME_THEME_THIRD_NAME_LIST:0 "Third Name List"
  95. TAG_NAME_THEME_FOURTH_NAME_LIST:0 "Fourth Name List"
  96. TAG_NAME_THEME_FIFTH_NAME_LIST:0 "Fifth Name List"
  97.
  98. ### These are used to give your name lists their name in different languages, but in this example I'll just use English. use the "name = ..." from your name list followed by ":0 "..."". if I were to use the finished example above, it would look like this:
  99.
  100. l_english:
  101. HOL_NAME_THEME_FISH_SUB:0 "Fish (submarines)"
  102.
  103. ### Repeat this for every name list you add and remember to test your mod :).
