UPDATE ON ME / 2020 PLANS
The last 8 months have been incredibly tough, but I finally feel like I have some stability in life due to my new job position. After living for 2 years downstate while the lady finished grad school and barely scraping by, we moved further North toward family. As nice as the transition sounds, it was very difficult due to me getting knocked down to part time in the job transfer process and was only getting roughly 25 hours a week for 6 months. We had to live on a severely strict budget, but that was really nothing new to us. We have an amazing country home and are now doing a lot better. I got promoted and she scored an amazing, well paying job out of grad school, so I really can’t complain. Things are pretty sick. That whole 8 months were pretty much hell though. Always picking up stray shifts and begging my managers to let me cover for people or get more hours.. I found myself in the HR office at least once or twice a week begging for more shifts. I ended up having to work in around 4 or 5 different departments to accommodate my living expenses. It takes a lot out of a person to literally beg for opportunities to make money in your place of employment.. especially since before I moved I was promised full time like I had currently, but that didn’t pan out I guess.. oh well.. I’m in a better place now with my new position being 1. More Money and 2. Full Time.
That brings me to my next topic.. speedrunning/streaming.
As you probably know, I’ve spent a LARGE portion of my time on stream doing speed runs, more specifically, Super Metroid rom hacks or SM content in general. To be completely honest, I can’t even barely look at SM games anymore. I’ve burnt myself out SO bad.. after spending countless hours on Project Base, Ancient Chozo and Hyper Metroid, I can’t barely stomach another SM hack. So I’m going to be taking a big step back from 2D Metroids for a long while.
With that said, I want to take my stream in a more casual direction. So I’ll be doing tons of playthroughs of titles of all different kinds. I think this will reduce a ton of stress I have getting in front of the computer and streaming each day and actually get me excited again about streaming, not just sitting down and immediately feeling pressured to play a game at a certain standard.
At the end of the day, I already have enough stress of getting my finances back  to what they used to be and saving to be able to do the fun things I’ve wanted to do like GDQ and traveling.. I don’t need the coolest hobby for me to be stressful too lol... anyway, thanks for listening y’all :)
