  1. trying to make the 2e bond more worth paying for..is this acceptable? or shit?
  2.
  3.
  4. this is the Lunar 'Solar Bond' background copied over and treated as a Solar background. Use this to buy yourself a better npc mate(if you ever run into her that is...the storyteller should strongly suggest you buy her as an ally before investing dots into this if your mate is an npc rather than player character)
  5.
  6. to clarify, this doesn't stack with the lunar's copy. pick one or the other. if the lunar is a pc you may talk among yourselves and distribute who pays bp for this shared background however you like. (although our storyteller feels like the solar should pay unless the lunar offers and/or the lunar wants more dots than the solar is willing to provide.)

  8.
  9. While refining the Essences of her Chosen, Luna agreed to instill an innate bond within each Lunar, tying that Exalt’s Essence to that of a single Solar. Thus, each of the 300 Moonchildren was mystically associated with one of the 300 Solars as surely as day is paired with night. Whether by design, happenstance or personal interaction, different Lunars formed bonds with Solars with varied degrees of strength. Ma-Ha-Suchi says he scarcely grieved when his spouse was
  10. murdered, though his subsequent headlong plunge into the Wyld suggests he harbored feelings he would not admit. Lilith remained with her First Age spouse Desus despite physical abuse that sometimes shattered her bones, but no one can say whether she stayed because of her Solar Bond or the supernatural mental infl uence of her mate. Whatever the individual relationship might have been, these bonds still exist. As the Solars return to Creation, the Children of the Moon fi nd they cannot ignore their ancient bonds.
  11.
  12. For the default rules of the basic Solar-Lunar bond, see MoEP:Lunars page 20.(or I'll just tell you here. it's only that the lunar forms an intimacy for the solar the moment she meets him. this intimacy can never permanently eroded or be removed by any means, it can at most only be changed over time) Dots in the Solar Bond Background indicate a stronger relationship than suggested by the standard rules. Lunars who were intimately connected to their Solar partners could tap into unexpected strength when defending their companions. Each dot of Solar Bond gives the Lunar two dice in her Solar Bond pool. Her player may assign one or more of these dice to any action undertaken with the deliberate purpose of aiding the Solar to whom the Lunar is bonded. Each die may be used once per story, and this dice pool refreshes at the end of every story.
  13.
  14. In addition, each dot of Solar Bond adds one to the Lunar’s Mental Defense Value whenever a social attack might cause her to act against her bonded Solar. Conversely, each dot of the Solar Bond Background reduces the Lunar’s Mental Defense Value by one whenever her actions go against her bonded Solar. This bonus or penalty stacks with the default Intimacy created by the Lunar’s bond with the Solar.
  15.
  16. X Your bond to a Lunar mate exists, but you haven't yet crossed paths. Or perhaps he struggles to resist it.
  17.
  18. • You feel a strong mystical connection to your Lunar associate.
  19.
  20. •• You are drawn to your Lunar partner and she finds your influence difficult to resist.
  21.
  22. ••• Your Lunar companion can scarcely help being the greatest of friends or most faithful of lovers — even if she hates you.
  23.
  24. •••• Your bond-mate died staunchly defending your your First Age incarnation, despite your madness.
  25.
  26. ••••• Your Lunar spouse's love knows no bounds. The poets of the First Age immortalized her epic devotion, and these tales survive even in the Time of Tumult.
  27.
  28.
  29.
  30. errata:
  31. •lunar mates do not ping resonance/interacting with or even defending and caring about them does not trigger abyssal limit gain as a 'sin of life'
  32. •clarification: the mdv penalty from working against the solar applies ONLY against the solar or those trying to talk her out of the betrayal. the lunar doen't suddenly turn gullable in general.
  33. •having at least 1 dot means you(the solar in this bond) get an unbreakable intimacy of some type to your lunar too, same way your lunar gets for you at zero dots. (the intimacies don't have to match, your 'destined love' lunar wafu might see you as a brother or rival. it doesn't even have to be positive, could be hated rival or 'that annoying squid-bitch who keeps following me around like a kicked puppy no matter how many times I tell her to piss off. I'mma STAB sol for forcing this on me')
  34. •having at least two dots in this background also gives the solar/lunar bond the following familiar-like properties(for both sides):
  35. -sense borrowing within 100 yards(only one sense at a time, undetectable, and to clarify it does not deprive either party of access to that sense.)
  36. -the innate ability to convey simple ideas through gestures only your mate understands and viceversa
  37. -and the ability to store an extra 5 motes of essence in your mate(who's 'charge' she isn't aware of and can't use herself, and that regenerates only after she has fully regained her own motes. this essence store can be accessed only while in physical contact with your mate))
  38. • remove the line 'Conversely, each dot of the Solar Bond Background reduces the Lunar’s Mental Defense Value by one whenever her actions go against her bonded Solar.' for any rating under 3. that is now a perk of 3+ level bonds.
  39. •at 3+ dots the Solar gets the same automatic/manditory mdv bonus against social attacks to work against his lunar, but at two dots lower in strength.
  40. unless the bond is at 5 dots in which case the mdv bonus is of equal strength.
  41. •the solar may choose to chip in xp to buy the lunar's bond improving charms
  42. •using the lunar taming leash charm also allows the solar's player to block any unwanted effects of this bond(such as blocking the mate from his senses, or removing the mdv boost) in addition to it's stated effects
