Chapter 20. Rising up to the challenge.
The beam of awesomeness came their way , as the four dodged it. The gigantic mecha flew up, producing several spheres of awesomeness and Launching them.. The station was being torn apart, as the four were now falling.. They were falling down, about to die.. However.. Something kept them. A strange force, an invisible form of help, had held them up, and then, came the bright light,ma blinding flash of awesomeness. Surely, they were now gone. Dead.. Vanished. And as they woke up, they found themselves, in a .. It was a field, in a sunny day.. Everything seemed so peaceful. Everything seemed so nice, so beautiful.. Except.. The mecha was flying towards then.. And this was the world of the living. The station had burned out completely, the last of the mooks, already operating the mecha, in conjunction with Dr.Sonnemuz. Sonne grabbed his gun, and aimed at the beast firing a shot, and then running. He took a circular motion path, around the creature, attempting to avoid one awesomeness sphere, jumping forward, as from behind, the large sphere came , exploded, and the explosion threw him forward. However, the mecha was being shot again. One blast.. And then another. The mecha would counterattack. Raising its arm, forming a beam of awesomeness, it fired, and it went straight for Sonne. However, it seemed to have been fruitless. The energy readings for Sonne vanished, only to be picked in the next instant, to the opposite side , the mecha was facing. Turning around, as it was, actually flying, it noticed both Sonne and Ild standing there. Ild launched a dragon bullet slash, and proceeded to slash the beast a couple more times. It could feel it, in it's body, being damaged. But as Ild came closer, to deliver a Hyper Energy Wave attack, he found himself thrown on his back. Standing up quickly, he gathered his energy. As it formed a large dragon head, right in front of him, with a slash at the air, from his sword, the mouth opened, and released a beam of energy, striking the mecha. Ild kept running around, defending from the attacks, no.. Dodging every single one of them, as he released many dragon bullet slashes, before.. Before he found himself running straight into a beam of energy, carefully placed in a point, in his trajectory of movement, which while the mooks operating the mecha could not calculate, the computers could, and act in accordance. Ild was himself thrown back, and out of Hyper Combat, and about to be hit with an awesomeness sphere, however.. Toast came in . Absorbing the awesomeness sphere, he released his aura of power, and set flight, charging towards the mecha, punching the air, as the awesomeness formed in front of him, and made a much larger scale punch. Toast would proceed to fly above the mecha, and let out a burst of his ultimate technique "Awesomeness Surge Beam" , as the mecha moved down, thrown on its butt. However, even without standing up, just with two eye beams , it assaulted Toast. The speed of the assault, combined with the power, threw Toast higher up, before he fell down, defeated. It was Luna's turn, as she released her vortex of flames, the Mecha standing up, and with the index finger, letting out a few rapid shots of energy she could manage to.. To somehow defend against. Her flames, grew in heat, and begun burning through the energy no.. Turning the incoming awesomeness into flames itself.. And proceed to let it out, as many roaring lion heads. The mecha was hit and confused, as Luna continued her assault, morphing the flames, into a vortex, damaging the mecha, like the other attacks had done however, as it opened its mouth and absorbed the flames, it let out an energy beam, sending Luna off. The four were defeated, yet.. They would not fall. Ild, grasped his sword.. He.. He was a hero. How could this happen? How could he fall? But, he had not really managed to learn Hyper Combat so fast.. He had not managed to go above his mentor, or Sonne. How was he a hero? He wasn't capable of heroism, or battle. How was he a hero? And the other three did hear, the shout "HOW??" From Ild. He could not allow this. But he was down. He had to allow that. Defeat. But again, he had to be a hero? And what did heroes do? They grew stronger, faced harder battles. And Ild.. Would do that. And how? He had no idea.. But as in fact, neither had any hero, up until that fated moment, and then.. Flames erupted from his body, changing slowly into an aura. A massive aura covering him, as he stood up. He could stand up again. He found himself capable of wielding his sword. He found himself able of walking.. He was now healed from the wounds, as he stood up, and faced the beast. The mecha turned to face him, before charging a sphere of awesomeness in its hand, and throwing it. In a rapid movement, the sphere was deflected. From a single slash Ild had made with his sword. A beam of awesomeness followed, which split in two, and continued to different directions. The mecha would then, resort to a different tactic. From the four wings, energy came towards it's body, as it glowed with the flood of awesomeness, before pointing its index finger at Ild, and releasing a beam massive, not like they had seen before. Ild was about to be hit, but.. Instead he had the tip of the sword face the attack, and.. It was all absorbed. But that was not it. In a second, the sword had changed. It started glowing purple and blue, larger, massive, it took a serpentine shape, as it formed a head on the tip area, in a few moments, becoming a large asiatic dragon. Ild jumped up, riding on top of it, as the serpentine body charged forward, the Mecha rising its hand to defend. Finding itself, pierced shortly after. As the dragon's aura took a straight, elongated shape, that of a giant sword, making a straight circular hole in the hand, and in the shoulder area, before Ild could be seen, falling diagonally past the hole. As the robot was about to end him though, with an awesomeness blast, it found its other hand, the one making the attack, being shot, several times,  as Sonne's miniguns fired , damaging the hand a bit, but it would move on, firing anyway, as the damage was easily brushed off. However, Sonne, in his Awesomeness Surge, burst forward, dodging the first few hits, shooting, shooting some more, running in circles, being attacked, dodging... He kept dodging, he kept running from the attacks, and turning around to occasionally fire. And then, he stopped, turning around, and facing the attack head on, he had the guns past him, and fire, bursting himself into action, forward and high , towards the mecha , and he was about to be ended, when.. Another Awesomeness Surge, releasing a bright golden light, as he made it past the hand, firing his guns, now explosive, in the mecha's face, destroying the armor. The mecha went on to attack, but it found itself struck down, its hand exploding on several locations, as Toast from behind, fired some more Awesomeness blasts. And to finish, Luna went on and assaulted the hand, several flaming lion heads, combining into one massive head,mas it literally bit the arm off.. Leaving the mecha with a destroyed face armor. and a torn off arm. Normally.. The fight could last, as a sphere of condensed awesomeness was launched, however.. In the last moment.. Something, quick as a shadow, threw it back, to the chest of the mecha. Wynd looked, his smug gaze, piercing straight through the hearts of many mooks in the mecha, giving them heart attacks, and right then... The chest of the mecha opened, as someone came from it, flying, cackling with lightning. It was.. Dr Sonnemuz.

"I should have challenged you myself, without the mecha holding me down. It seems I was mistaken in my decisions"-he said, his voice as calm as ever, as Ild charged in, only to find himself electrocuted by a lightning bolt. Sonne attempted the same, and suffered a similar fate. Teds and Luna went for another tactic. Luna attacking from the front, coating herself in flames, while Toast attempted an attack from the back. As the lion head, and the awesomeness beam collided... No.. They did not. There was a sphere of electricity, which instead sent the attacks back, throwing both Luna and Toast off their balance and down.
"It appears, the Asurans lost to you, for a reason other than weakness. "-he said, smiling gently. That enraged Sonne, standing up and firing several blasts of awesomeness, which were all deflected by the wall of electricity. And then.. Dr.Sonne vanished in a flash of light, as Sonne found himself, punched in a face and electrocuted at the same time, by an attack imbued with electricity from the Dr. .  And of course, Ild couldn't miss out, attempting to make a quick slash. Did he forget, the electricity clad man, who could without a single move, discharge volts and volts of electricity, through his sword, and into his body? He did. But what did he forget? Oh.. Wynd. He was forced to dodge now, the rapid combination of strikes, the quick swordplay. A downward strike, then one from below. He had seen it coming.. Barely. Then.. He was hit, not once, but three times. All he saw was a blue flash, before he saw himself down, then hit once more with what he could discern as the dragon bullet slash.
"What.. What is this?"-he asked, more curious than afraid.
"Zero combat. The art that used the blue component of Hyper Combat. If you had noticed, my apprentice relies upon purple colored attacks. I use the blue element. It slows down the opponent, instead of speeding you up. It is.. Useful for varying foes, who can easily see through quick foes. "-Wynd explained, before he.. He got punched to the stomach, and kicked to the face, sent back, a few meters. Dr, Sinnemuz was up, and again cackling with electricity. Wynd attacked again, only this once to find himself evenly matched by Dr.Sonnemuz. It was then when Ild and Sonne came to the rescue, taking Dr.Sonne by surprise, and attacking with their combination attack. The spread spiral of awesomeness bullets and hyper energy took him by surprise. Except no..  Dr.Sonnemuz made a spinning kick, and sent them both reeling, having went behind their back, faster than they could even witness. And then, he was attacked once more, by a series of flaming fists, from above, a combination of Luna's and Toast's powers, before he could once more, defend with his electrical shield.
"Hopeless. As imagined"-he said.
"We'll show you hopeless."-Sonne responded, charging to his new super mode, firing the continuous rounds, which were deflected by the electric wall, however.. One had just hit. And another.. Several more had hit, as the wall had been .. Somehow its balance had been disturbed. It had been pierced through.
And then, from the behind, a surge of energy came, only making a small hole, as it proceeded, to go through, making the hole larger. The purple blade of energy, had gone through Dr.Sonnemuz, leaving him wounded, and vulnerable, to the following assault from Toast. A few meters in the distance, Wynd smiled. It had been his plan all along. Apparently, Dr.Sonnemuz COULD be.. Slowed down only in some aspects, such as his aura reading power becoming extremely slow and frozen. And then.. It had come, the breach. Dr.Sonnemuz was no exposed to a flurry of attacks, which he begun to counter quickly. A kick from Toast, he blocked with his hand, and threw the later off, with an electrical shock , induced through contact. His ability was great enough as to have the electricity penetrate the awesomeness vibrations of Toast awesomeness aura, right in the moment it turned off, less than the fragment of a second. As Toast was off, Dr.Sonnemuz fixed his suit back into place, and smiled gently, before then the gigantic mecha would move up, and begin firing its awesomeness spheres. One after another, they hit the ground. Ild tried to dodge them, but he was caught in the middle of two, and brought down. Sonne took a direct hit from one, and so did Toast. Luna was exhausted after dodging a few, and she too got him. Dr.Sonnemuz smiled again, as Wynd was cornered in the midst of three spheres, however his joy was short lived. He found two of the spheres aimed at him, and in his best effort to dodge, he still took one to his body. Dr.Sonnemuz, was finally down, hurt, bleeding, as he barely managed to stand up, his armor destroyed.
"It seems.. I had underestimated you. Be prepared"-he said, as electricity flowed through his entire body, before a bolt of lightning struck Wynd. It did not harm him, or cause him to fall, it simply left him like that.. Paralyzed for a second. But as Dr.Sonne was enjoying his victory, he felt something, cold.. Long, go through his body. And then he noticed, he had been pierced by Ild's sword, which proceeded to light up with Hyper Energy, blasting Dr.Sonnemuz off. He stood up again, holding his wound. His glasses seemed to have been somewhat shattered, as he took them away, overcharged them with electricity and threw those at Ild. He could have defended easily, but instead Dr.Sonnemuz got a series of many, many explosive bullets to his body, barely defending with the energy field. It was impossible, they had to be tired, weak.. Defeated. Then why..? But, there wasn't much time left for thinking, as a strong punch came from Toast, from behind, and he was thrown forward, only to be punched in the chest by Wynd. And there, his entire suit as assaulted, by a bunch of flaming lions, as he proceeded to defend himself. He now only had one side of his pants, as the other was half burned. Trying to stand in his feet he shouted "Fire!", as the gigantic mecha, charged with energy and flew above, lighting up the sky, as it appeared, and then came down, at all it's might. Dr.Sonne got a kick to the face, and a flaming punch to the chest as he passed out, while the falling mecha was assaulted , by the Hyper Energy wave, now much larger, and stronger, and the combination of the continuous awesomeness bullets. They came together, as a spiral of sorts. A straight energy spiral formed, and at the hand, the head of a golden dragon, no.. The entire spiral was golden, as the coming fall was caught in it, and spiraled upwards, flying towards the sky, drained of energy and thrown up, only to fall somewhere else, like being caught in a tornado. The explosion was large, as the remains of the mecha's body stood there, whilst the flames spread, into spheres and lights, falling from the sky like meteors. Some were hitting the area our heroes were on, as they ran off, at the greatest speed they could. To pick them up came, Wynd in a large, somewhat floating vessel, like a futuristic minivan or something. Hopping into it, they floated off, moving away from the disaster. Dr.Sonnemuz lied down there, looking up, speechless.
