- Person of color is an invalid label.
- innit
- It's perhaps the most egregious racial term in current usage.

- Elements of race ideologies extend into antiquity, but much of contemporary race ideology stems from early 'scientific' efforts in the 18th-20th centuries.

- In a Marxian analysis, these racial ideologies operated as infrastructure upon which the contemporaneous economic systems of exploitation were based.

- So, yeah, per capita, you Christians are more likely to steal my bike, Thacker-

- It is in this context that we appreciate that racial categories operated substantially as Otherizing language, i.e. non-Europeans were racialized and not Europeans.

- I've sent you the evidence, Thacker- ... time and time again, more believers -- and Christians -- commit more crimes in the USA. You'd think you people would be more "moral" and "kind," Thacker-

- The legacy of this still evident today in that when polled, 'white' people often do not perceive themselves as belonging to a race, and 'non-whites' often express disbelief at this, since so much of their identity has been racialized.

- So, historically, race is something that was done by Europeans to non-Europeans. Recently, with the goal of equality in our society, there are increasing attempts to racialize 'whites'.

- This is done by more frequently using the term 'white' when discussing various factions of humans, and by the rise of the term of 'person of color', which racializes 'whites' by denoting them as the Other to the 'person of color' moniker.

- So, of all historical racial categories 'white' is by far the least coherent.
- innit
- Which is *part* of the reason 'person of color' is so egregious. It's a negatively defined category -- not 'white' -- which is generally disliked in many classification schemes as you can have much more distantly related objects in the same class, coupled with the fact that it's all in relation to the relatively incoherent 'white' category.

- Structurally, the goal of the 'person of color' label is extremely questionable. It starts from an acceptance of a highly racialized society -- which has been one of America's worst aspects -- and then says, the goal to that crisis is to *increase* the amount of race usage, which I think makes some sense in a narrow sense, but is ultimately highly destructive.
- innit
- What should the goal be, then? The goal isn't to also have 'whites' feel racialized and essentially factionalized, mirroring the putative 'person of color' experience, but rather to have every move towards the historical 'white' perception -- where you don't perceive yourself belonging to fictional, scientifically non-existent essential groupings.

- There aren't any human races. Full stop. They are not valid categories. They do have meaning, because humans imbue them with meaning. The goal is to *break that down*. The goal isn't to have India do the caste system correctly -- there is no correctly. The goal is to have India abandon the caste system as it doesn't actually exist, and is really harmful to their society.

- So, we could do that by saying things like, "Historically, some parts of my human family enslaved other parts of my human family. Why did they do this? Why is our family at war with itself? How can I soothe those old wounds so that my children and grandchildren do not have to live in that battlefied."
- innit
- So, some of my ancestors were slaves. Some of my ancestors with slave owners. Some of my slaves were Nazis. And some of my ancestors were antifa GIs storming the beaches of Normandy.

- Our top-level projects for our society need to be fundamentally aiming towards decrease in factionalization, not an increase, and all of our human classification systems need to be rooted in science, but it's been shown there are no races, no 'whites' and no 'people of color'.
- innit
- Some of my ancestors were Nazis*
