- I'm not 100% sure I am correct, however there is quite a bit of compelling evidence that my theory might not just be a tin foil hat conspiracy.
- I noticed that a user called Hindustani seemed to word his posts like DVR. In fact he acts quite a lot like DVR. Proof:
- And then there's poor use of grammar, like DVR:
- I noticed however that Hindustani is an older account, so it made me think "why would DVR create new sock accounts (like Reelz) when he has an older account?" Then the idea light bulb lit up above my head. Perhaps the DVR account was a sock account all along for Hindustani, with Hindustani being his main account, and uses the DVR account & others to keep his main account "clean", so to speak. So I did a little bit of research, and Hindustani's and DVR's interests match up considerably well.
- Hindustani prefers 2001: A Space Odyssey over Interstellar:
- DVR admitted the same:
- Hindustani preferring Michael Mann over Del Toro, the same as DVR (in a DVR created poll, I might add):
- And DVR listing the same films of preference:
- Hindustani hailing Inception as the best Nolan movie:
- DVR basically admitting the same:
- Hindustani voting for Coppola, the same as DVR (in a DVR created poll, I might add):
- Here's a bunch of DVR created polls where Hindustani voted the same as DVR:
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=8871
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=9337
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=9326 (This one also has a special appearance from DVR's alt account Reelz who also votes in the same favor)
- I also found it weird how Hindustani said his favorite Bond film was Casino Royale, going out of his way to go in-depth:
- 5 days later in the same thread he says a different bond film is his favorite (one that hasn't even released yet, by the way):
-
- Only DVR could be so contradictive and wrong with his own posts.
- Hindustani showing an overall love for The Dark Knight, a movie DVR also defends a lot:
- DVR pretty much doing the same:
- Hindustani sharing the same opinion as DVR regarding directors:
- You'll find throught DVR's post history, his favoritism of these directors and their works.
- Note how he Hindustani thinks those directors are all equally great, compares them all to Sergio Leone (who encapsulates them all).
- I found the random dig at me rather odd and out of left field:
- But in the context of Hindustani being DVR, it makes perfect sense. DVR has disliked pretty much every post I've made in the Unpopular Opinions thread; he takes what I say as if I've physically attacked him, and he responds very emotionally towards me. And that dig seems a little too DVR emotional; Hindustani specifically mentions Sergio Leone, which is also referencing the other directors mentioned in his other post (the same ones DVR holds in high regard also), which I've realized is a dig at me for always bringing up the works of those directors in the Unpopular Movie Opinions thread (the only place where I have really shown distaste for those directors and their works). This means that Hindustani has at the very least, read the majority of my posts in the Unpopular Movie Opinions thread, an activity that DVR excelled at.
- The most damning evidence is how DVR always put his faith in a film reviewer called Roger Ebert. Here is Hindustani admitting his trust in Roger Ebert and his site:
- And now, here's all the posts I can find of DVR bringing up Roger Ebert and putting his faith in/defending that reviewer:
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18995210&postcount=17843
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18929731&postcount=14621
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18929698&postcount=14618
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18851717&postcount=13889
- https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18822360&postcount=12441
- Now I'm not a staff member so I can't cross reference time spent online etc or investigate further, because with that I could more conclusively prove my theory. I do know that DVR spent most of his time in the Unpopular Opinions thread, and that Hindustani has referenced my posts in the Unpopular Opinions thread with that random dig at me out of nowhere; so I believe even though Hindustani hasn't yet posted in the Unpopular Opinions thread, he has still at the very least visited the thread and read through the pages, avoiding a knee-jerk reaction to post a response to something he's read.
- I have attempted to post opinions that would get a response from Hindustani the same way DVR has responded mine and other peoples' posts, which would be the final piece of evidence I would need to conclude the case.
- I have monitored Hindustani's profile page, viewing his "current activity" in hopes I might catch him viewing the Unpopular Opinions thread, which would also be enough evidence to conclude the case definitively.
