**Insect Control**
Cymex can control the minds of tiny insects within roughly 30 feet of himself, using various hand gestures and vocal incantations. He can use this ability to perceive using their senses (such as sight or smell), manipulate their movement, have them bite other people, and other similar effects. Despite their similarities, this power does not work on arachnids, such as spiders or scorpions.
**Insectoid Adhesion**
Cymex can choose for his fingers to emit a small adhesive substance, which allows him to climb onto walls, trees, and other similar surfaces, like an insect would.
Skills of the trade: Cymex knows how to carve wood fairly well, which he usually uses for creating small knives. He also knows how to fight with a knife fairly well, though he's no professional. Finally, he knows a little about foraging for food, but it's mainly which berries will kill you to eat, and which won't.
Allergies: Cymex is allergic to the stingers of bees and hornets. He can survive one or two stings, but if he gets stung repeatedly, he will most likely die if he does not receive treatment.

**Fear of Spiders**
Cymex is deathly afraid of spiders of all kinds, although he's perfectly fine with other arachnids, such as scorpions. Any spiders around him will either be stabbed, or mobbed to death by insects.
**Hidden Misanthropy**
While he does not brandish it proudfully, Cymex generally dislikes humans and humankind. He's still willing to make friends, however, either because he believes the person is better than most others, or that it will be a horrible decision not to make friends with the person. If he were given the choice between his own life, and the life of another human, he will usually choose to save his own skin.

General personality: Cymex generally keeps to himself, and is a very quiet, twitchy individual. He is a very submissive person when it comes to what he'll say about his beliefs, and will lie about agreeing with others on most things, but deep inside he usually will stick to what he believes in.
Life changing events/history: Cymex's life was changed when his mother was killed by members of the mafia, when he was about 6, due to his father being part of a rival mobster gang. Once this happened, his father knew he'd have to learn to defend himself, and not to trust members of other gangs. So, he taught him how to fight with a knife by sparring with him every day, giving him the scars he has all over his body, which he views as being scars showing when he was weak. His father also taught him that almost all humans were vicious and vile creatures, to condition him to be untrusting towards rival gangs.
