QUEST SUMMARY


INTRO THREAD (Chapter 1)

Nameless protagonist awakens in a cave, laying face down in a pool of liquid with no memories and no heart. He immediately gets moving, and goes to the big stone thing, where he is attacked and knocked out by an Inquisitor.

He then awakens in a cell in Mortifas prison, where he meets Derrick, Fran, Ilica, and Emi. After screwing things up a bit, he learns that he is strengthened by the energy they use to kill people in Mortifas. He then aids the others in their escape, passing out a second time after firing a huge soul beam.

Upon his third awakening, Nameless protagonist decides that Yuu is a pretty cool name.


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- SHERTON PT. 1 (Chapter 2-8)

Yuu, Derrick, Ilica, and Emi part ways with Fran, who decides to return home to make sure her children are safe. A move that was kinda pointless, because after fighting off a big monster with a tail made of poisonous hurt, the Yuu-crew finds Fran's children, Lily and Daisy on the outskirts of a town called Sherton. They decide to spend a night in Sherton, and bring the children to Contique (where Fran headed) come morning.

Unfortunately the Hell's Legion pick that night to attack Sherton, forcing Yuu and Derrick to aid in its defense while Ilica and Emi keep the children safe. After a quick skirmish, Yuu decides to go mano a mano with Carthac, a commander of the Hell's Legion. While Yuu doesn't do exceedingly well, he does manage to steal Carthac's creepy flesh spear.

Then Derrick goes to help repair Sherton's mana generator. Yuu doesn't like being around the generator, so he decides to go get lost on the way to where Emi is. This leads to his first meeting with Terry and Caiah. Terry offers to give Yuu directions if Yuu gives him the creepy spear. After Yuu refuses, Caiah shows up and chases Terry off, then she gives Yuu directions without taking his spear. Yuu then finds his friends and goes to sleep.

The next morning, the group collects their reward for the previous night's heroism, which includes a cart to take them to Contique. Yuu also meets Madelaine, supposedly the only non-animal hybrid girl, along with her caretakers: Meyu, Gerard, and Zaine.

After that it's off to the Hunter's Guild, where the crew leaves Yuu alone for 5 seconds and he manages to anger the cute desk bunny. Fortunately, Stella is quick to calm and she teaches Yuu a few things about how not to anger the ladies.

Said things don't help him once they get into the cart, as it turns out they're carrying a shipment of catnip to Contique. Yuu spends the majority of the trip scratching Ilica so she doesn't bite him...


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- CONTIQUE DETOUR (Chapter 9-12)

The crew arrives shortly after sunset, and the little she-devils immediately sad-face Yuu into shirking his work to bring them to their mother at the Contique Hunter's Guild.

Unfortunately the guild hall is being watched by some very unfriendly folk, whom Yuu convinces to chase him so the kids can get inside. He does this job all too well, and within minutes half the soldiers in Contique are on his tail.

He decides to hide in a burnt out, abandoned looking building. However the building is not abandoned, as inside he meets Kieve, an old owl who finds Yuu absolutely fascinating. After allowing himself to be studied for a while, Yuu sees that the coast is now clear and heads out.

He then runs into Lance, Fran's husband, along with his colleagues: Archer and Layla. The 3 of them help sneak Yuu into the guild hall, and everyone is glad to see that he is safe.

The next morning, Yuu goes back to pick up some notes from Kieve, and learns that she is Lance's mother. Then they kiss Contique goodbye.


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- SHERTON PT. 2 (Chapter 13-16)

Along the way to Sherton, the group is ambushed by rowdy raiders riding raptors. Yuu manages to fight them off with Emi's help, and they make it inside the city gates safe and sound.

Then it's time to stock up, as they'd been dreadfully low on rations all this time. As they're out shopping, Yuu sees a familiar pair of bunny ears, and stops to eat dinner with Stella.

The cute rabbit continues Yuu's schooling on how to deal with women, and the night ends after the two of them play a prank on the rest of the crew.

Come morning the crew heads out, stopping along the way to get bolts for Ilica's crossbow and a belt for Yuu's pants. They then break through those same raiders, and speed along their way.


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- BELL'S RUN (Chapter 17-19

The crew arrives in Bell's Run to find that the place is a shit hole, and everyone agrees that they should spend as little time there as possible.

Everyone except for Yuu, who wants to meet with the Monkey Queen, a performer who uses the same weapon that he does. So they go to the Bell's Run Guild Hall, where they meet Hella, Stella's shorter, thicker sister. Hella is friends with the Monkey Queen, and agrees to take Yuu to meet her.

Upon arrival to the Monkey Queen's house, Yuu meets the performer's ward: Ariadne, a spider who immediately traps Yuu in her web. After taking a well thrown slipper to the head, Ariadne decides to let Yuu go.

Yuu learns more about his weapon: the mageblade, from the Monkey Queen (whose real name is Tian), and finds out that bunnies have a profound love for snuggling.

But before they can really get into anything, the Inquisition shows up. The crew manages to escape, with Yuu stealing the Inquisitor's stupid hat on the way out. Then it's full steam with 3 new passengers onto Locke...


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- BIRTH CAVE (Chapter 19-20)

But not before they shake their tail. Along the road Yuu starts to recognize things from when he first awoke, and guides the crew into the hidden cave that he first came out of.

After covering the entrance, the crew decides to wait out their pursuers and take a breather, leaving them time to explore further into the cave.

Deeper into the cave they find a huge circular chamber with a giant, light-up pillar at its center. They find some tablets with buttons and slots and writing in a language only Yuu can read.

Yuu, like any intelligent person, decides to press all the buttons, prompting a portal to open. Out from the portal comes a wooden dummy with a message telling them to fuck off. Inside the wooden dummy is a skeleton, which freaks Ilica the hell out and makes everyone decide that now is a good time to leave.

By the time they get back up, their pursuers have been thoroughly lost, and they are able to continue their journey


THE TRIP TO LOCKE- ARRIVAL (Chapter 21-22)

The crew arrives at the gates to Locke and are immediately greeted by Rhea and Lulu, 2 of Altea's 4 knights. After a brief argument between them and Derrick, Altea arrives, showing off her flair for the dramatic in the process.

They then enter the city, dropping Hella off at the Locke Hunter's Guild before eading off to the castle.

There, Altea reveals that she wants to destroy Mortifas, and she needs Yuu's help to do it. Yuu agrees, and Altea leaves to make plans, letting everyone else go to bed.


TO MORTIFAS- TRAINING PT. 1 (Chapter 22-27

Yuu begins his training the next morning, but first he and Ilica thoroughly roast Madelaine over breakfast. Unfortunately Altea's knights are harsh teachers, preferring to beat their lessons into their students rather than teach them. Fortunately Yuu is rather sturdy.

Once training is finished, Yuu goes to the Locke Hunter's Guild to eat dinner. There he meets several very small bunnies, and discovers that shrinking chambers don't exist. He also gets a chance to learn from an old hunter, who gives him a map to catalog his adventures.

Then it's back to the castle, where he gets chased around and shot at for a bit, and discovers Emi's mastery of snek-fu. Altea tells Yuu what the plan is, Yuu trains a bit more, and makes amends with Madelaine.


TO MORTIFAS- THE CAVE (Chapter 28-32)

The next day, Yuu decides to bring Madelaine and her crew back to the cave. Like before, Yuu presses all the buttons. This time several blasts of soul lightning emerge from the portal. Yuu takes a hit for Madelaine, and is not only unharmed, but recharged by it.

Outside the cave the group runs into Storm, who thinks it's a good idea to fight 3v5. Their short but decisive fight is interrupted by a mutilated monster crashing the scene. Yuu kills the monster, losing his hat in the process.

It's then that Carthac arrives with his troops, and Yuu faces him again. Yuu holds his own against Carthac and his two subordinates: a Lupid and a Devil named Cheska, but it's a losing fight. Then the hunters show up, dropping from an airship called the Archer's Pride to save the day.

Yuu goes up to the ship to get patched up, then hangs out with Stella, Fran, Lily, and Daisy for a bit while they travel back to Locke. There he eats supper with Ilica and the little bunnies, then he goes back to the castle and gets chewed out by Altea. She is lenient though, forgiving him and getting him to deliver things to Jade: her librarian. He takes the things to Jade, discovers that she uses sprites to do her work, passes out and gets carried to bed.


TO MORTIFAS- TRAINING PT. 2 (Chapter 33-35)

Yuu starts off the morning by asking Emi about her home, a subject that clearly upsets her as she involuntarily breaks her chair and leaves.

After that Yuu goes to strength training with Rhea, who forgets that she's supposed to be training him and starts just wrestling. When reminded of her task, she leaves and forgets to bring Yuu with her...

Then Ilica shows up with lunch, and Yuu meets Vivian the adorable kitten. When he's done eating he works on his mageblade with Tian, accomplishing little other than stabbing himself in the arm. Luckily Emi is in the castle, and with his arm healed he gets right back to training with Derrick.

Yuu manages to surprise Derrick a few times, using his mageblade shaping skills to his advantage. But the match ends as the guild-bunnies arrive bearing cookies. Stella gets mad when she sees Ilica napping on the job, which leads to Yuu having to help Ilica track down the devils.

Along the way, they overhear a conversation about activity coming from Mortifas. Yuu is then informed that his mission date has been moved up, and he will be leaving immediately...


TO MORTIFAS- THE MISSION (Chapter 36-38)

Yuu takes some time to say his farewells before leaving for the docks, where the Archer's Pride is waiting to take him to his destination. Along the way to the ship, he serves as a mount for Pip while she reveals her backstory.

At the Pride, they put the final touches on the rushed assault plan and take off. Yuu spends the first leg of the trip napping. He then gets up and explores the vessel, making his way down to the cargo bay where he checks out the hunters weapons, armor, and vehicles. Even finding some strange experimental cart, and a cute scene of Derrick and Pip taking a nap together.

Then he goes on deck to see Lance and hang out with Stella, before going below deck to spend the rest of the trip snuggling.

Upon arrival, the Pride drops Yuu, Derrick and Pip off, and the group starts their mission. They get inside easily enough, after the Pride blasts a giant hole in the wall. Once inside, they make their way up to the control room without too much incident.

But once they get there, they find someone has beaten them to it: Terry, the mysterious Pure Demon who wanted to take the spear from Yuu. He sets the engine to target the Pride, and wrecks the controls before leaving. This forces the party to go below and destroy the engine directly before it can fire.

They make it to the engine with time to spare, but Frederick: The First Knight blocks their path. Yuu manages to destroy his barrier, and then runs past him while Pip and Derrick keep him busy. Inside the engine room, Yuu chooses to turn the engine's energy against itself. A plan that quickly goes sour as it overloads him with more energy than he could possibly handle. He quickly passes out, as the prison collapses around him...

2 days later he is found by Caiah: the other Pure Demon, who is at the prison looking for Malteris. She helps him get out of the rubble, and brings him back to the Pride. At the ship Yuu is taken care of by Stella, who brings him a healer and snuggles with him while he rests on the way back.
