Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy is a classic Star Wars game from 2003. With Disney/Lucasfilm making some questionable choices with the sequel trilogy, and what is and isn't cannon any more I wanted to relive this game, and share it to some who might have missed it.

This game might not have had the greatest story (and if you want to be harsh it is comparable with some fan fictions), but is a game I have been playing on and off since I found it in 2005. I even returned to it after completing the Force Unleashed in late 2009.

In Star Wars Legends Jaden's lightsaber is a purple or amethyst https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jaden_Korr, when I started this project I didn't know there was a cannon/Legends appearance for Jaden. I just picked my usual appearance for Jaden.
While on the topic of lightsabers this game allows you to choose between a single lighsaber, dual wielding lightsabers or a double bladed lightsaber (like Darth Maul).

If scrutinise the raw cinematics, you will see lots of silly mistakes (like characters popping in and out of frame, effects stopping for several frames, limbs bending in ways they shouldn't, sounds missing, or the wrong sounds being used). Several times I've looked at a scene and thought have I fudged the edit only to find that those mistakes really are there in the original.
If you have a really good eye you might notice I ended up muting the droids, tauntans, sand monsters (as they would just chirp loudly and randomly). If I was doing it again i think i would also mute bacta tanks, and jetpack troopers, and confused npc sounds.

If you want to run this game in 1080p, try the console commands
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_customwidth "1920"
seta r_customheight "1080"
seta cg_fov "95"

BUT be aware this does screw with the cinematics a little (it will be most noticeable when someone's head is out of frame).

If you think you know this game well, try the Movie Battles multiplayer mod.
