  1. After a bit of searching and asking around, Auro is directed to the library within the temple. There he finds Mary Delman, a woman perhaps in her mid-twenties with brown hair. She is wearing clerical robes and some spectacles as she studies a book.
  2.
  3. The woman looks up from her book, takes off her spectacles and has a kind smile, "Oh, yes, yes I am. Can I help you with finding a book?"
  4.
  5. > "No I was recommended your help by aurelain to help me with killing a demon in an old medusa lair in the mountains. You wanna help" I attempt a smile
  6.
  7. She becomes excited, "Oh a demon! Me? With you? Kill? A demon? I-- I-" she begins scrambling, crudely grabbing scattered papers and slamming shut books, "Uh, yes! Of course! Let me just- no don't go please - I promise I wont take long... I uh, just - let me- Okay, I'm ready! When are we going? What kind of demon is it? I know all sorts about demons - oh, I can also ward them off - and - and I can tend to wounds. I promise I'll be useful-- this isn't a joke again, right?"
  8.
  9. She looks at you with pleading eyes, trembling with excitement and suspense until you speak
  10.
  11. > I blink for several seconds taking that torrent in, "I don't know what demon it is, and it wasn't a joke welcome aboard".
  12.
  13. "Oh, thank Venalia! I- yes! Finally I get to go along with the Inquisition! Thank you, Venalia! Oh- oh I'm sorry... Thank you too-- uh, what's your name?"
  14.
  15. > "You can call me auro Mary".
  16.
  17. "Oh thank you so much, Auro!" shes smiling ear to ear then she gulps and her face goes flat, "Oh! Oh no! No no - no, I'm so irresponsible. Just, uh, please wait a moment! I promise I wont be long, I -- I need my armor, and mace- Oh, and my shield! Just- just please don't leave me, I'll be right back!" she scrambles to the private chambers of the library. You hear the crashing of books, clatter of pots, and the shatter of a vase followed by, "Oh no!"
  18.
  19. > I look back at Bolton just wide eyed as we wait for her
  20.
  21. Bolton is picking at his teeth and mutters, "Greenie."
  22.
  23. Frantic moments later the door to the private chambers is kicked wide open with a heavy slam, and you see a frazzled Mary with crazy hair, sweat dripping from her forehead, and she is breathing heavy. Her arms are piled high with a shield, mace, and chain armor. A backpack haphazardly hangs off her shoulder.
  24.
  25. With some heavy panting she hurries over and stumbles, dropping her helmet but catching it on her foot, "I- I'm ready, I promise! I- you don't have to wait up for me! Ha ha ha..." she stares at you with wracked nerves and an innocent crooked smile.
  26.
  27. It is obvious these armaments have never been used, but yet have been patiently sitting in wait for years with the dust that is kicked up all around her.
  28.
  29. Now standing before you with her demon slaying gear, she catches sight of Bolton where he was previously leaning up against the exit. The blood drains for her face, and her mouth moves but no words come out until finally she finds her voice... sort of, "B- bo- it - its b- wi- man... Bolton Wickman! I- I'm going with the- the legendary Bolton Wickman too! oh, oh, no I- I don't- " then she faints and the library rings with the clatter of her gear.
  30.
  31. > I look over to Bolton "your a legend?"
  32.
  33. He shrugs, "Like I said, you could say I sort of run this place." then he walks over and helps Mary into a chair, sits down across from her, leans back in a chair with his feet propped on a desk, and pulls out his smoking pipe, "This isn't the first time, there's a reason she hasn't been out with the inquisitors. We got time for a quick puff."
  34.
  35. "Want some?" he motions with his pipe.
  36.
  37. > "What is it? Smells funny"
  38.
  39. "Its the single beacon of hope in this dark world, and its a gift from the halflings no less." and he encourages you to give it a try while waiting on Mary
  40.
  41. > auro smokes the pipe
  42.
  43. It is a bit rough initially, causing you to wheeze and cough but you quickly become -relatively- accustomed and its quite pleasant and very relaxing. It calms the nerves, and leaves you feeling like a halfling on a warm summer day laying out by the pond with a full belly and not a worry in the world.
