Production designer Stuart Craig was chosen to bring the WIzarding World of J.K. Rowling's novels to the movie screen and he welcomed any opportunity to talk with the author about the castle and its surroundings. At their first conversation, Rowling drew him a map of Hogwarts and its grounds -- a map that Craig referred to throughout ten years of filming Harry Potter's story. "It was", he concedes, "the ultimate authority."
