Anansi has 3 forms. And all of them are what he calls his true form. One form is that of a giant spider, and the other two are human. In his human forms, he is pretty tall, he has rich dark skin, and a smile that is bright and contagious, with teeth so white it would make Toothania swoon. Anansi has dark brown eyes that seem always lit with happiness or a joke. He has the habit of wearing green tinted sunglasses for fun. Anansi has the ability to change between all three of these forms, and combine various aspects of them as well.

In his male human form, he is clearly well built, with plenty of muscle. His black hair is styled in dreadlocks and he normally ties them back so they are not always crazy around his face. If he wears his hair down, the dreads come approximately to his shoulders. Over the years Anansi has decided to get tattoos, cause why not? He is very proud of them, and shows them off quite frequently. One on his chest is that of a cross because he liked the shape, and on his arms he has 4 tattoos, with two on each side. Mostly these are things he randomly chose at the parlor where he got them.

Anansi's female form came as a result of a change of belief that occurred sometime between the 16th-18th Century. It was in this form that Anansi picked up the name Aunt Nancy, and his tales further were cemented in time and history. In this form, Anansi (or Aunt Nancy, if you will) very rarely shows her teeth when she smiles. However she has a knowing smirk and wise eyes that pierce the shadows that guard secrets. Aunt Nancy has close cropped hair and will sometimes bleach it to be blonde for a while before switching back to her normal black hair. She is slender and not very curvy, but is just as strong and as strongly built as her male form.

Anansi's final form is that of an extremely large spider. And we are not talking about "That spider by my door that is the size of a nickel" either. No, in this form Anansi is quite the giant spider and easily can dwarf a man the size of his human forms. He has several large red markings on his abdomen, and has a dark exoskeleton. His 8 eyes are a bright green color.

Sometimes when Anansi appears in his human forms, he retains his 8 legs from his spider form reduced down to be in proper proportion, allowing him to move fast or just freak people out. He has also on more than one occasion, made his human head appear on the body of his spider form.

Anansi has a rather eclectic fashion sense. He has many traditional Akan and Ghanan outfits, and loves loud and expressive patterns. However he has also taken a liking to modern day western clothing. He enjoys t-shirts and blue jeans, however he also enjoys just having his bare exposed chest, and if he could get away with it easily, he would do the same in his female form. He favors bright colors such as golds, greens, blacks, reds, and oranges.

Anansi is a renowned Trickster, and we aren't talking about small jokes either, no, Anansi was infamous for using his wits to get the heads up on anyone else, including his enemies. To this day, Anansi continues to use his smarts in this fashion in his current mission to protect believers in Africa.

Anansi has the tendency to know what is going on and where, even outside of Africa. He is nosy but he rarely takes action unless he needs to or if he has a special interest. Some people call him hands off, others call him aloof or inattentive. But once he steps into something, he is determined to see it off. This determination can result in a scary form of persistence. Anansi has a long memory and does not let things go easily, that being said, he can forgive people. He avoids nursing grudges unless they are honestly deserved and the person in question is absolutely irredeemable. However he is not a fool, while he may forgive a person, he also keeps a close eye on them until he is assured that they have indeed changed. It is very hard to fool Anansi.

Upon meeting Anansi, he is very laid back. He might crack a couple of jokes at the expense of the person, but he is very welcoming of new friends or believers- whoever they may be. He also enjoys telling stories, but doesn't give out information freely to others. Anansi does have a hint of greed to him that he was never fully able to shake. While Anansi no longer tries to take more than he can carry, he do demand something akin of an equivalent exchange. Anansi is always available to give out advice, should you be able to find him. Anansi is one of the many beings who prefers to appear on their own terms rather than someone seeking them out. Although it is not impossible, it is certainly a feat to be able to find Anansi when he does not intend to be discovered, and something he will be impressed at.

Anansi loves a good party, and he adores dancing. It is not uncommon to find him wandering around a city or a party area in his spare time. Lively, Positive, and smart beyond belief, Anansi is who he is.

Anansi was created with a host of the other spirits near the beginning of earth. He is the son of the sky-spirit Nyame and the fertility earth spirit Asase Ya. Both who were believed to be powerful deities by the Akan people of Ghana. Anansi was left mostly to his own devices as a child, and grew. Nyame was a distant father, and his mother was the same. Anansi became a guide of sorts to people, teaching them agriculture and soon he made an agreement with his father. When Anansi was born and throughout most his life there were no stories on the earth. So one day he made an agreement with his father, and brought to him specific gifts won by his wit against the others and then in turn received the stories which he shared with the world.

Nyame then tasked Anansi to continue to wander the world and to collect stories, and so Anansi did. He also worked with his father to protect the people of Africa. Bringing rains to stop fires, and protecting the people, sharing wisdom and stories.
