If you tell her to dance like a squid in public, she will do it because she hates being called a coward. Hana is really blunt and speaks very directly and straightforward. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and express her opinion. She doesn't like complicating things too much and prefers to just get straight to the point. Hana has a tendency to insult someone back if they even try to insult her. She even 'roasts' someone if she just feels like it. This is the reason why her members call her the "Savage Queen". — BACKGROUND: Hana was born as an only child and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Her parents separated when she was around 2 years old, so she doesn't really remember anything about her father who left her with her mother. After her parents' separation, she and her mother moved in with Hana's grandparents, as her mother didn't have enough money to raise her on her own. Hana's mother and grandparents always supports her in any decision she makes, unless of course it isn't good. At the age of 10, her mother got a job opportunity in California. It was a job that she couldn't miss, and as much as she wanted to bring her daughter with her, she didn't have enough money. Hana had to stay with her grandparents in Seoul. Even though her mother was halfway across the world from her, they would still talk frequently through video chatting, and occasionally, her mother would visit them. Hana was always a huge fan of k-pop music since she discovered it through her best friend, Jihyun. Because of it, she found out about her rapping skills. Even as a trainee and soon-to-be idol, music is still an inspiration for her.

— HOW YOU GOT INTO SM: She and her best friend, Jihyun, are huge fans of EXO. One day back in 2013, they were going from school to Hana's house to study. Being the shameless people they are, they sang EXO's Wolf so they wouldn't get bored while walking to her house. Hana did all the rap parts and Jihyun did all the vocals. They were just joking around and they weren't intending to do good, but apparently, they did. A casting agent from SM Entertainment approached them saying that they had the looks and potential to become artists. The agent continued on saying that they should each prepare an audition to be seen by the CEO himself, so they did. A few weeks later the results were given. Hana was able to get into SM Entertainment and become a trainee, but sadly, Jihyun didn't. However, Jihyun still continued to support Hana.
