DadGuide / GH shutdown info

Friday Aug 7, email from Apple:

On 8/7/2020, we received a notice from ガンホー・オンライン・エンターテイメント株式会社 (杉村萬国特許法律事務所) ("Complainant") that Complainant believes the app listed below infringes its intellectual property rights.  In particular, Complainant believes you are infringing its copyright.  Please see their comments below.

Comments from Complainant: Comments: App Store上のアプリ「DadGuide」が、ガンホー・オンライン・エンターテイメント株式会社が提供するスマホアプリ「クロノマギア」及び「PUZZLE & DRAGONS」に登場するキャラクター①「光刻の時龍契士・ミル」、②「たまドラ」、③その他のキャラクターの画像を同社に無断で使用しています。
同社は上記キャラクター画像の著作権を有しており、「DadGuide」がこれらのキャラクターの画像を使用していることは同社の複製権（著作権法２１条１項）、公衆送信権（同法２３条１項）等の著作権侵害に該当します。
解析しなければ得られない情報を載せている上に、有料課金による広告解除も含まれるため営利目的であることが明らかであり、著作権法上で許される正当な権利制限事由にも該当する余地がなく、極めて悪質といえます。

So I want to be clear that I have no additional information about this specific request at this time. I'll be forwarding this along to see what can be done to rectify the situation, if anything, as DadGuide is a great resource that I personally think should be able to coexist with the game.
The above Japanese calls out three main points that I'll clarify here: 1) using character and monster art in your app without prior agreement from GungHo is piracy, 2) the app shares non-public information to users (not specifically data-mined info, but broadly speaking about info only attainable through data analysis) 3) the in-app ads.
Like I mentioned, since I'm speaking in an official capacity here, I can't go into any further details, but our team will be following up with our other teams, and if I'm able to share any additional information with you following that process, I'll reach out again.

gh > Hi @tactical_retreat, wanted to follow up and say that our internal review found the app in violation of the things outlined above so GungHo will be moving forward with any actions to take the app off of the App and Google Play stores.

me > I didn't question if the app was in violation, I asked if there were acceptable remediations for the issues

gh > None that I can make, unfortunately.
