  2. # Building
  3.
  4. ##General
  5.
  6. For builds, check [this page](http://www.smite.guru). While building in Smite is very situational, grappul offers a nice basic build that off of which
  7. you can base your own, optimized build. If you want me to go into details on a certain item / on all of them simply say so and I will.
  8.
  9. ##Useful items
  10.
  11. Crit and CDR
  12. While this might seem like a bad combination, Hun's passive allows him to use crit items to great effect even withouth any attack speed items. You don't want to build more than one crit item though, as it's pretty ineffective whenever you're up against a good player, as it takes the place of either a pen item (Titan's Bane) or a defensive item (situational), which is usually required if you're up against someone who's good.
  13.
  14. The two crit items you're most likely to pick up are either Deathbringer or Malice. Which one is up to you:
  15.
  16. Malice does more damage if you only crit ever so often. Basically: to get full use of it's passive, you have to wait for all it's damage ticks to go through.
  17.
  18. Deathbringer is more effective than Malice if you crit somewhat often, which makes it a decent option when you're up against immobile characters on whom you can land multiple AAs in a row, as you'd refresh the Malice passive (decreasing it's overall effectiveness).
  19.
  20. #Skills
  21. ##Skilling
  22. Keep in mind that everyone has their own preferences and that the "best" way to skill is the one that best suits your playstyle. There are, however, some basic guidelines that are worth following, which are what I'll try to list below.
  23.
  24. ###Priority
  25. 4>2>3>1
  26. ###First five levels
  27. 2-1/3-3/1-2-4
  28.
  29. ###General
  30.
  31. Don't skill until the very second that you're going to use it. Keep your skillpoint ready incase the enemy tries to invade / your team needs you. Be ready to put a point in your escape ability if you need to get out quick: it's better to
  32. lose out on a little bit of earlygame power instead of giving away first blood.
  33.
  34. ##Infused Strikes
  35.
  36. His passive gives Hun Batz a 30% chance to crit on the first basic attack after he used a skill. This works great in combination with Crit and has wonderful synergy with his 3.
  37.
  38. ##Somersault
  39.
  40. Pretty standard leap with a great slow (50%)
  41.
  42. ##Overhand Smash
  43. Good damage and a progressively shorter cooldown, your main damage skill.
  44.
  45. ##Sacred Monkey
  46. Good poke ability as it bounces off enemies, good to catch up to someone with more movement speed but a long cooldown and comparatively bad scaling. Has a teleport ability.
  47.
  48. ##Fear no Evil
  49. Wonderful ultimate. Applies fear to everyone in range (1-2 seconds), does good damage and can completely turn teamfights.
  50.
  51. ###Tips
  52.
  53. ###Utilize your passive
  54. Especially if you have a crit item, it's vital to use your passive. If you attack someone, it's tempting to just spamm all your abilities at them, but don't forget about your passive. If you attack someone with your 2, take the time to get a few basic attacks off before hitting them with your next skill. You can always chase after them with your 1 or 3.
  55.
  56. ###Use the slow on your 1!
  57. I don't see people doing this enough. Remember that your 1 applies a significant slow and is great if you're chasing after someone. Don't just use it to get close (you can use your 3 for that) but make sure to acually hit them to slow them.
  58.
  59. ###Your 2 has a huge range
  60. Your 2 has a very large area of effect. Use this to your advantage to deal damage to mulitple enemies.
  61.
  62. ###Be careful when using your 3
  63. There's multiple sides to this, all of which related to the bouncing mechanic. There is no visible indicator as to who you last hit at the moment, so make sure to pay attention so you don't accidentally teleport to the wrong place. It can also be dangerous to use it to clear when inside a tower: it might bounce to an enemy player and make you take tower aggro. Keep this in mind.
  64.
  65. ###Your 3 can be used as an escape
  66. If you're getting chased and your 1 is either not enough or on CD, throw your 3 out at a minion and run the opposit way: this forces your enemies to either split up or to decide whether to chase after you or wait near the minion, possibly allowing you to escape.
  67.
  68. ###Use the time before you teleport to force your enemy to use their escape
  69. You have a set time before your "monkey mark" disapears from the last target hit (I'm not sure about the exact time, if anyone knows, please tell me). You can use this to get a few basic attacks in and to force your enemy to use their escape (e.g. if you apply your 3 on an Anhur, keep attacking him so that he jumps out, which allows you to negate his leap with your 3 without having to use your 1, leaving it available to use as an escape.
  70.
  71. ###Use your 4 to fear enemies towards you
  72. Enemies who are effected by the fear effect, will always run from the source of the effect, in this case the center of your ult. You can use this to force enemies out of their tower (or into an disadvantageous situation) by placing it on the opposite side of them.
  73.
  74. ###Don't be afraid to use your 4 to zone/save your teammates
  75. While it's always good not to waste your skills, you shouldn't be afraid of "wasting" it. If you can save a teammate by getting an enemy off of them or if you can put your team at an advantage by zoning your enemy (e.g. keep them off of the Goldfury) don't be afraid to do so.
