Thats fair, Some people truly don't deserve or want mercy for their actions. And those kinds of killers are the bottom of the barrel types too.
Hell even in prisons they're hated beyond belief to the point where they usually end up getting killed by other inmates.

People cite the fact that he didn't immediately murder that sheep demon in the butcher shop as a sign that he has some kind of deep rooted chivalry and that he really "respects women"
Its just like how Bundy, Gacey or Dahmer could manipulate people so easily into swallowing their bullshit because they put on a kind exterior so that people wouldn't assume they did it
Serial killers, pretty much by nature THRIVE on having glib, superficially charming exteriors, but people take Alastors "gentleman" shtick literally at face value

I'd say if Mr. Sam Berkowitz ever dies, he would actually be one of the few serial killers that has a shot at redemption, mainly because he was less of a sadosexual psychopath but a thrill killing gunman

Its likely that he faked the demonic voices in his head so that he could get off on insanity charges and not live in a maximum security prison for the rest of his life
He was definitely psychopathic, but his killings lacked the more unsavory sexual nature of most serial killers
He's more of a Zodiac Killer guy, even coming up with a similar "symbol" that he got from the Lesser Keys of Solomon

Old Sammy boy suffered from untreated schizophrenia (the real kind, not the kind people like to accuse everyone who posts here of having). Letters attributed to Zodiac also indicate that he believed his killings would grant him power in the afterlife. This all ties back to our old oooooold theory of Alastor having a patron demon whom he acted as an agent for on earth in exchange for supernatural power or just that his murder spree was a ritual to score some post mortem stat boosts.

Being smart and being an insane murderer aren't mutually exclusive. The guy was sharp as a tack to be sure.
