Runa

Runa is a former Thalmor agent of the Aldmeri Dominion. At an early age, she was an orphan living on the streets of New Alinor. After attempting to steal from a book store, she was secretly adopted by the store's owner, who was of a wealthy and noble Altmeri bloodline (The adoption was done in secret since adoption is generally looked down upon in Altmeri culture).

In his household, Runa spent her childhood studying to become a spellsword in the legions of the Dominion at first under the tutelage of her foster father and then from the Illumination Academy - the Summerset Isles' main establishment of higher learning. As noted by her advisors, her swordplay, archery, and athleticism came to her more naturally than her arcane abilities - an attribute not at all common to the Altmeri - though her skills in destruction magic certainly weren't to be scoffed at.

After graduating with top marks from the Academy's Military College, Runa became a drill instructor at Cey-Tarn Keep. There she remained till she was dispatched to the Army of the Jerall Mountains in Skyrim during the Great War. There, she further established her prestige and assisted in the capturing of Ulfric Stormcloak.

At the war's end, Runa became the Commander of Northwatch Keep in Haafingar and held that post for 25 years until Thalmor agents attempted to assassinate her for reasons unknown. She reasoned that her status of adoption was discovered and that her own senior ranks had conspired to have her killed as a result. While attempting to escape to Hammerfell to re-evaluate her plans she was captured by an Imperial border unit and sent to be executed in Helgen. After the return of Alduin there, Runa escaped her captors and discovered her status as the Last Dragonborn and that her status as such was somehow discovered by the Thalmor and was the true reasoning behind her attempted assassinaton. Now she scowers the land looking for answers to her origins and has accumulated a small fortune in working small-time thievery jobs.
