- S-Link 4 - Twilight (N)
- Canterlot High Library
- You decided to spend some time with Twilight.
- She looks quite happy to be back in her usual perch behind the desk, and even a little more energized after her forced break.
- As you pull up a seat across from her, Twilight slides a bookmark into her book and closes it, giving you her full attention.
- Twilight: Good to see you again, [Player]. I thought you might be stopping by again soon.
- You exchange the usual pleasantries, all while looking over her daily spread.
- Today's focus seems to be homework, some of which looks familiar, but a lot looks like it could be over your head.
- Twilight's phone chirps abruptly, interrupting the silence.
- She smiles and tries to ignore it, but the phone goes off four more times in rapid succession before she finally picks it up.
- Twilight: Sorry, I'll just be a minute.
- She quickly hammers out a response, then switches the phone over to silent.
- Sighing heavily, Twilight closes her eyes and shakes her head.
- Twilight: Oh, Pinkie Pie...
- >Option 1 - Panka Pae?
- S-Link +0.2
- Twilight looks at you as though you've grown a second head.
- Twilight: What? No! Pinkie Pie, my friend? Well, technically she's everyone's friend.
- Twilight: Surely you met her on your first day of school? She's the one who makes people fill out the party questionnaire?
- Twilight: I mean, you DID fill out the questionnaire, right?
- Twilight: ...Oh [Player]...
- Twilight: Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.
- >option 2 - Pinkie has your number?
- S-Link +1
- Twilight laughs.
- Twilight: I'm pretty sure Pinkie has everyone's phone number, even yours.
- Twilight: Don't ask me how; I never gave her mine either.
- Twilight: She's a little mysterious like that, but it's not all bad.
- Twilight: ...unless she's trying to get your attention.
- >Option 3 - You don't need to take that?
- S-Link +0.6
- Twilight shakes her head.
- Twilight: Not especially; I just told Pinkie that I'm too busy to talk right now.
- Twilight: Between my studies and homework and everything else, I'm sure she will understand.
- Twilight: Well, I hope anyway.
- Twilight gives the phone an uncertain look.
- Even with the sound and vibration off, the red light in the corner continues to flash at a steady pace.
- She sighs and turns the phone face down.
- Twilight: Sorry about that. Pinkie can be a little intense at times.
- Twilight: Things were alright for a while actually, she let me study in peace.
- Twilight: But, when we went to Sugar Cube Corner...
- Shrugging, Twilight gives a smile.
- Twilight: Well, she saw us there, and I just haven't been able to get her to leave me alone ever since.
- Twilight: I'm kind of at a loss on what to do. You have any ideas?
- >Option 1 - Spend some time together with Pinkie Pie.
- S-Link +1
- Twilight: Ugh, I was afraid you would say something like that.
- Twilight: Don't get me wrong, Pinkie's a great friend, and fun to be around, but I don't have the time.
- Twilight: I mean, I could make time to take another break, but I would feel bad about it
- Twilight: Probably, anyway.
- Looking towards the floor, Twilight lets loose a heavy sigh.
- Twilight: But it's not like I feel good about ignoring Pinkie either. She's my friend.
- Twilight: Maybe you're right; I should take time to reach out with her, even with all this work I have to do.
- Twilight: Besides, who's to say that I wouldn't feel better afterwards? our date did wonders for me!
- There's a moment of silence before Twilight brings up one of her hands and shakes her head.
- Twilight: Not that it was an actual date. Just, a study date. Yeah. Exactly. Study date.
- >Option 2 - Promise you'll catch up with her later.
- S-Link +0.6
- Twilight: A stalling tactic, hm?
- Twilight looks thoughtful as she considers that option.
- Twilight: You do have a point there, I could use that to buy myself some time until I've got a few spare moments.
- Twilight: It's awfully tricky though, and if I encourage her, she might get impatient and come by the library herself.
- Twilight sighs and leans her cheek against her palm.
- Twilight: That would be a distraction I don't think I could deal with.
- Twilight: I mean, I like your visits, but that's because you're quiet, and a good listener.
- Twilight: Pinkie is... well... well, she's the second.
- Twilight: I just don't think I could get anything done with her around.
- >Option 3 - Keep ignoring her, she'll get the message.
- S-Link +0.2
- Twilight sits up a little straighter at your response.
- Twilight: ...Really? I know I'm avoiding answering her right now, but doesn't that seem a little, mean?
- Twilight: Pinkie's my friend, and I don' think I would feel comfortable just leaving her alone like that.
- Sighing, Twilight leans forward again and looks to her phone.
- Twilight: Besides, it's nice to be remembered sometimes.
- After a few moments of thought, Twilight groans and buries her face in her hands.
- Twilight: This is exactly what I was afraid of; everything was fine when I was locked in the library on my own.
- Twilight: All of the girls are great, but they all require so much attention.
- Twilight: Between them, and getting everything prepared to apply for the McGuffin Program, it just seems so overwhelming!
- Twilight: And they offer to help but, I can't count on them to be in the room with me when I take the test!
- Giving a heavy sigh, Twilight closes her eyes.
- Twilight: Between the program and my friends, I just don't know what to do anymore.
- Twilight: They are both important to me, but...
- Twilight: ...I'd rather not choose one over the other.
- Rocking back in her seat, Twilight closes her eyes.
- Twilight: Sorry, [Player], I need some time to think about all of this.
- Twilight: Please, don't think I'm chasing you away but, I need to be alone right now.
- Twilight: ...I'll see you later?
- You nod your head in agreement and pack up your things, leaving Twilight alone with her thoughts.
