● reading and collecting poetry books; this is something she has been doing ever since uni as she majored in literature. she has a very varieted collection and is actually quite possesive of them. she won't mind lending one of them to someone but if they lost it it would be the end of the world for her. when she's stressed or just wants to relax a bit she sits by the window and reads one of her favorite books. it gives her a lot of mental relief and helps her coming up with new lyrics and ideas.
● gardening; maybe it's because she likes being alone but not feeling lonely, taking care of flowers gives her overflowing happiness. she thinks of her cactuses as the best friends she could ever have. she's the kind of person that has a lot fo love to give but at the same time needs her own space and time. cactuses allow her to have time for herself without complaining but still need her to take care of them. she first started gardening when she was 7 with her grandmother, who she used to have a very nice relationship and whom she misses a lot.

background:: jang miyeon was born in noryangjin, seoul in november 23,1994. she's the daughter of a chinese based model and a korean university teacher. she was raised with mostly korean culture and wasn't taught much about chinese culture nor mandarim. miyeon was a very quiet child who liked to roleplay with other kids and playing with plushies. when she was 2 years old her parents got divorced and her father had a daughter with a korean woman. miyeon never seemed to mind going from house to house to be with her parents. she especially loved visiting her father so she could see and play with her younger sister, seungyeon. she always took care of her nicely and helped raising her. during kindergarten she used to have friends and would actually socialize. when she entered first grade, the story completely changed. she couldn't bring herself to make any friends or even try to. other kids would make fun of her and call her tree as she was much taller than them at that time. later on in middle school it wasn't just that. people somehow found out she came from a well off family and were quick to judge. they would say she was stuck up or was cold or just make fun of her for being quiet. this messed up her emotional state a lot and that's where she started having complexes with her own looks. she focused on studying hard as her parents told her to, but at the some point she didn't know where she was going. where she was walking to. thats when she found music. music somehow was one of the only things that made her want to wake up the next day. she would cary notebooks and write down all her feelings. it was a really nice coping mechanism for her. at 15 years old she decided to start trying to audition for companies. she auditioned for jyp, yg, cube, sm (..) she failed all of the auditions for some reason, maybe because of her awkward self or because of her lacking dance skills (which she has been able to work on through she years) but happily she made many other trainee friends. no matter how many auditions she failed she would keep on trying out for every entertainment she hadn't yet. one year later she auditioned for pledis entertainment and got finally accepted. during the time she trained, which was long, she had her down times as well as her up times. but she never thought of dropping out or giving up. this was her passion, she couldn't give up on such a big part of who she is. she got to work as a composer with seventeen and pristin; she learned a lot through that. though she was a trainee for a longer period, her sister seungyeon debuted before her which was funny as she technically was her younger sister's hoobae. she always cheered up for her and would send her fanletters and gifts even when she was busy herself with training. she would promote her sister everywhere she went and brag about her. she attended SOPA and later then the country's most prestigious uni, seoul university.

personality: miyeon is a very somehow passive person, she enjoys being on her own, alone and just doing things that make her happy but doesn't enjoy feeling lonely. she likes to know there are people that love her even if she doesn't hang out that often or isn't able to be one of those clingy friends. when she's in the mood though, she is one of the most softheart, most caring person you could ever meet. she loves starting and receiving skinship from people she is friends or close with. she always wants to make sure everyone is happy and content with themselves, she likes to listen to their problems and advice them. one thing she dislikes seeing is people that doubt or dislike themselves. although she is one of those people, just seeing someone else doubt themselves makes her heart hurt. maybe perhaps because she knows how that feels, or maybe just because she wants everyone to be happy. she is the kind of person to ask you every five 5 mins if you need anything or if there is anything she can do to make you feel better. she is a very passionate person and is persistent. she doesn't give up easily and tries to convey that spirit to others. she finds it difficult to believe compliments or just others' words when it comes to talking nicely about her. her self esteem is quite awful but she tries her best not to let it show. she always puts the group before her own problems, she wants to be able to lead and care for everyone so much that sometimes she ends up forgetting herself. on another note, she loves joking around with her close friends and is very bubbly with the people she is close with.

● irene - red velvet: first met joohyun when she was auditioning for sm ent. although doing well on showing her talents on the audition someone she kept stumbling over her words and looked nervous as heck, joohyun happened to be in the audition and empathized with her a lot, having a similar awkward around strangers personality and yeah, they exchanged numbers after that. despite not passing the audition, they quickly became very close friends. miyeon thinks of her as her best friend (outside the group)

● elkie - clc ; a very close friend of her she met through her sister. she's actually nice friends with everyone in clc but elkie has to be the one she is closest to.

● yoongi and hoseok - bts ; first met hoseok through seungyeon who is friends with lots of main dancers, him being one of them. both of them being 94 liners probably helped them get along really well. later he introduced her to yoongi who she ended up getting really close to as well. yoongi has a similar personality to hers and since they are both passionate about rapping, composing and producing they often show each other their ideas and projects and exchange opinions.

● the chinese female idol squad ( xuanyi, meiqi, cheng xiao, jieqiong, sally & elkie ) : got into the squad after becoming friends with jieqiong (whom she met while training in pledis ent) she is the only korean born half chinese member in the squad. they have a groupchat together and it's actually useful; not only it lets her mantain a good relationship with everyone but it lets her actually put her mandarin to use so it doesn't end up getting rusty.
