- Verlux vs Corv Tiebreaker
- I think, Corv edges things out slightly.
- Raizo vs Jason boils down to a few specific points
- 1. Stealth and Horrorporting
- 2. Raizo's offense vs Jason's durability
- 3. Skill vs Strength
- ...aaaand generally I think Raizo mops Jason. It's self-evidently true that Jason is not exactly the peak of speed and skill for the tier, while Raizo is. His durability and strength matter less when he's clearly going to be eating so much offense. The Freddy antifeat is clearly just that, even when Verlux tries to dress it up nicely and take it out to dinner.
- The horrorporting is an interesting argument, and I think probably allows the best option for Jason, but Corv is right when he says that it's just kinda worse than Shadowstepping, and that Raizo's ability to detect opponents and defend himself make it much less useful even assuming it's a consistent ability.
- Point for Corv
- Preston vs Creeper
- It's honestly pretty funny to watch Verlux and Corv switch roles arguing Skilled Man vs Horror Monster. Which goes similarly badly for the horror monster in this round.
- The Creeper is not a bad pick, but is clearly slower and less skilled in a melee than Preston. The pistols are obviously better than real pistols, and the 20mm is obviously intended to be a real 20mm, although it still pierces through him (Verlux stop being cringe about realistic firearms in live action, it's like 1% of all media). I think that Preston can damage the Creeper, both from range and in melee, and, just like Jason, the Creeper will struggle to land the hit it needs in return.
- The Creeper is obviously stronger, but against a faster more skilled opponent it's difficult to leverage. His movement speed is clearly very good, but I don't think it grants the edge he needs to not take a wound that will stagger him and let Preston do something obvious like boot his regenerating corpse off the Helicarrier
- Khanivore vs Lancelot
- Man if I had a nickel for every round in this debate about a skilled guy with a sword vs some kind of monster, I'd have...3 nickels.
- I think Khanivore wins, for a few reasons. Corv does an excellent job drawing comparisons between sonnies canon fights and how she would tackle Lancelot. Taking a deep wound but retaliating with a fatal one is something she's done before, and it's easy to see happening here. He likewise points out how disconnected regular swordsmanship is from fighting a tentacle monster. Some of Verlux arguments are a bit goofy and weird here. Khanivore does not take 1.7 seconds to stab with a tentacle, I can see with my eyes it is faster than that (which Corv points out), and holds up an example of sonnie charging in, that is not the instance he claims (which again, Corv corrects with the real opener, where Sonnie is behaving intelligently)
- Either party had the opportunity to take this debate, but I felt that overall Corv kept things cleaner
- Corv 2-1
