Erases from memory and building time

“Perfectly safe.” Phane assured Seto. “On the condition of your silence, and your cooperation.” Seto's knuckles could cleave diamond. “I'm sorry, but the carrot wasn't working, and you were being belligerent.” Phane stood and began to leave. “A plane will arrive and take you to your destination within the week.”

Seto's mind ran wild with plans of vengeance and retribution. But before he could enact anything he had a sudden, stark realization. He thought it to himself. “I still don't know anything about him. What was he wearing? What was his accent? How was he dressed?” Even as he left Phane industries he continued realizing with horror the peril he was up against, “Where was I? What did the building look like? The room? How long did it take to get there? How long was he there?” Fact checking wasn't working. He checked his watch and realized with horror that, even though they must have spoke for several minutes, time had not passed. Who was this guy...?
