Chief Oka: Handing over [Axis] to [Neo Zeon]... If Char Aznable drops that onto Earth, it’ll be [Second Impact] all over again.

シマ
「ハーザが予期したのは、
そのことだったのでしょうね」
Shima: I believe we can assume this is what Haza had predicted.

ミサト
([使徒]絡みという可能性もあったけど…)
Misato: (I thought it might have something to do with the [Angels], but this...)

カガリ
「私達で今の内にアクシズを押さえられないのか?」
Cagali: Can’t we go take Axis while we have the chance?

ミサト
「密約とは言え、地球連邦政府とネオ・ジオンが
和平を結ぼうとしている時に横槍を入れれば、
私達は反逆者になってしまいます」
Misato: It may have been a secret agreement, but if we intervene while the Earth Federation Government and Neo Zeon are trying to make peace, we’ll end up being seen as traitors.

「参謀次官の言質を取ったとは言え、
先制は不可能ということですか、ブライト大佐」
Murrue: Even with the Vice-Minister’s approval, taking the initiative is beyond the scope of what we can do, correct, Captain Bright?

「ああ。
我々がアクシズへ向かう素振りを
見せるのも駄目だ」
Bright: Yes. We’re not even allowed to make it look like we’re approaching Axis.

カガリ
「向こうが動くまで手出し出来ないなんて…
その結果、地球が壊滅したら、連邦政府は
どう責任を取るつもりなんだ」
Cagali: It’s ridiculous that we can’t do anything until they make a move first... How is the Federation Government going to take responsibility for this if it ends up with the Earth being destroyed as a result?

「そもそも、アデナウアー・パラヤは
シャアがアクシズを落とすとは
思っていないからな…」
Benkei: Well, Adenauer Paraya doesn’t think Char will drop Axis in the first place...

「岡司令、アクシズ落としが現実となった場合、
我々以外の戦力…連邦宇宙軍は動くのでしょうか?」
Shima: Commander Oka, if he truly does attempt to drop Axis, will the rest of our forces--that is to say, the Federation Space Forces--take action?

「月や各コロニーの駐留軍は、ボアザン軍の襲撃や
親ネオ・ジオンの[スペースノイド]達の暴動を

Chief Oka: The troops stationed on the moon and the colonies are too cautious of a Boazanian attack or a pro-Neo Zeon revolt form the [Spacenoids] to move.

「後は、ルナツーの艦隊だな。
シャアも彼らと正面から事を構えるつもりは
なかろうが…予断は禁物だ」
Chief Oka: Aside from those, there’s the fleet at Luna II. I doubt Char would try to fight them outright but... Who can say?

シマ
「では、最悪の場合、
我々で対処するしかないのですね」
Shima: Then, in the worst case scenario, it’ll be all up to us.

マリュー
「そうなったら、有効な手段は…」
Murrue: And if it is, the best thing we can do is...

カガリ
「こちらの全ての火力を用いて、
アクシズそのものを破壊するというのは?」
Cagali: What if we just used all of our firepower to blow up Axis itself?

ミサト
「それでは、飛び散った破片が地球や
コロニーに甚大な被害をもたらしかねません。
アクシズを制圧し、軌道を変えるしかないですね」
Misato: Then the scattered debris would cause serious damage to the Earth and the surrounding colonies. We’ll need to take control of Axis and alter its trajectory ourselves.

「そのためにはあらゆる手段を用いて構わん。
責任は私が取る」
Chief Oka: You may use any and all means to accomplish that end. I will take responsibility for whatever happens.

Bright: Thank you very much, sir.

Torres: I’m sorry to interrupt your discussion, Captain, but Cameron Bloom is here to see you.

「わかった。艦長室へ通しておいてくれ」
Bright: Understood. Have him shown to the Captain’s Quarters.

「ルナツー以外にも核弾頭が15基もあったとは…」
Bright: I’m surprised there were 15 nuclear warheads in addition to the ones in Luna II...

「会計監査局扱いなので、博物館行きの代物です。
扱いには充分ご留意下さい」
Cameron: But now that they’re under the Audit Bureau’s jurisdiction, these are virtually antiques. Please handle them carefully.

「しかし、あなたも罪に問われますよ」
Bright: But won’t your actions be considered a crime?

カムラン
「現行の連邦政府が生き続ければ、終身刑ですね」
Cameron: If the current Federation Government survives, I’m sure to get life imprisonment.

「いいのですか?」
Bright: And you’re fine with that?

カムラン
「私は、ミライさんに生きていて欲しいから
こんなことをしているんですよ」
Cameron: I’m doing this because I want to make sure Mirai lives through this.

「昔のフィアンセには、そう言う資格があります」
Bright: You were once her fiancé, so I understand what you mean.

サイコ・フレームを使わなくともファンネルを
コントロールできる[ニュータイプ]です」
Nanai: Yes. Quess’s brainwaves are perfectly linked with the Psycommu... She’s a [Newtype] that can control funnels without the use of a Psyco Frame.

「ならば、α・アジールを使えるか?」
Char: Then she can use the Alpha Azieru?

「可能だと思いますが、
先日まで民間人だった彼女を
作戦に参加させるのは…」
Nanai: It should be possible, but involving her in our operation when she was a civilian just the other day seems...

「クェスは私のために働いてくれるさ」
Char: Quess will do it if it’s for my sake.

Char: It’s too late for lectures, Nanai. I believe in the rebirth of humanity that has come to live here in space.

「しかし、人類全体をニュータイプにするためには、
誰かがその業を背負わなければならない」
Char: However, in order to develop all of us into Newtypes, someone has to shoulder all the evils of humanity.

「それでいいのですか?
大佐は、あのアムロを見返したいために
今回の作戦を思い付いたのでしょう?」
Nanai: And you’re willing to accept that? Captain, you thought out this latest plan to get even with Amuro, didn’t you?

シャア
「私はそんなに小さい男か?」
Char: Am I such a small minded person?

ナナイ
「アムロ・レイは優しさがニュータイプの武器だと
勘違いしている男です。女性なら、そんな男も
許せますが、大佐はそんなアムロを許せない」
Nanai: Amuro Ray is a man who mistakenly believes compassion to be the weapon of a Newtype. A woman would have the capacity to forgive such a man. But, Captain, you cannot forgive that about Amuro.

(…ジオン独立戦争の渦中、私が目を掛けていた
パイロット、ララァ・スンは敵対するアムロの中に
求めていた優しさを見つけた…)
Char: (...During Zeon’s war for independence, the pilot I had taken as my protégée, Lalah Sune, found the compassion she had been looking for in Amuro, even though he was an enemy.)

(だが、なまじ人の意思が感知できたばかりに…)
Char: (But, all because she could tap into people’s thoughts...)

「どうなさいました?」
Nanai: What’s the matter?

シャア
「似過ぎた物同士は、憎み合うということさ」
Char: Those who are too much alike will end up hating each other.

ナナイ
「恋しさ余って、憎さ百倍ですか」
Nanai: They say love and hate are two sides of the same coin.

シャア
「ふん…まあな。
クェスのことを含め、明日の作戦は頼むぞ。
私はアクシズに先行し、お前を待つ」
Char: Hm... I suppose. I want you to take care of tomorrow’s operation, along with Quess. I’ll go on ahead to Axis and await you.

(Char leaves.)

(ジオン・ダイクンの名前を受け継ぐ覚悟が
大佐を変えたと思いたいが…)
Nanai: (Since he decided succeed his father, Zeon Deikum, I thought the name would change him...)

(あんな小娘に気を取られて…!)

「欲求不満のはけ口を戦争に向けてるだけなんだ」
Gyunei: The war is just an outlet for him to take out his frustrations.

「何、それ?」
Quess: What do you mean?

「大佐みたいなのが頭に来ると、
コロニー潰しなんかやるんだよ。
そんな時に大佐を止める力がいるだろ?」
Gyunei: When people like the Captain get angry, they start destroying colonies. Someone’s got to be there to prevent that kind of thing from happening.

ギュネイ
「だから、俺はニュータイプに強化してもらったんだ。
両親はコロニー潰しでやられちまったからな…」
Gyunei: That’s why I had them cyber-enhance me into a Newtype. Both my parents were in a colony that was wiped out...

クェス
「だから、エスパーになりたいんだ?」
Quess: So you wanna be a psychic then?

ギュネイ
「ああ…だけど、ニュータイプ研究所の強化じゃ、
クェスみたいになれないって、わかったよ」
Gyunei: Yeah... But I’ve come to realize that I’ll never be like you, even with the enhancing process at the Newtype labs.

「だから、俺…クェスと一緒にいて、
クェスを研究させてもらう」
Gyunei: That’s why, I...want to be with you, and study you for as long as it takes.

Gyunei: No, that’s not it. Besides, the Captain has Nanai.

Quess: That woman...

「大佐がナナイと仲良くしてる理由を
教えてやるよ。あの人は[一年戦争]の時に使った
パイロットのララァに取り憑かれてるんだぜ」
Gyunei: I’ll tell you why the Captain and Nanai are so close. In the [One Year War], there was a pilot the Captain was obsessed with called Lalah Sune.

クェス
「はぁ?」
Quess: Huh?

ギュネイ
「けど、総帥らしく見せるために
ナナイと付き合ってさ。大佐のララァ・スンって
寝言を聞いた女は、かなりいるんだ」
Gyunei: But, he’s only with Nanai to keep up appearances as our leader. There are more than a few women that have heard The Captain utter Lalah Sune’s name in his sleep.

「なら、私がナナイとララァを追い出すんだから!」
Quess: Then I’ll just kick Nanai and Lalah both out of his life!

ギュネイ
「ララァをアムロ・レイに取られたから、
大佐はこの戦争を始めたんだぞ!」
Gyunei: The whole reason he started this war is because Lalah chose Amuro over him!

クェス
「そんなことを言うから、若い男は嫌いなんだ!」
Quess: You’re just saying that because you’re young and naïve, and I hate guys like that!

Guy: The Neo Zeon fleet has left Sweetwater?

カミーユ
「ええ、今、ニュースでやってます。
録画映像ですけど」
Kamille: Yeah, it’s on the news right now. It’s just a recording though.

「何で中継しないんだ?」
Show: Why isn’t it a live broadcast?

カミーユ
「スウィート・ウォーターの放送局は、
ネオ・ジオン寄りだからな。
規制が掛かったんじゃないか」
Kamille: The broadcasters in Sweetwater are on Neo Zeon’s payroll. That’s probably all they were allowed to do.

シルキー
「凄ーい!船がいっぱい!」
Silkie: Wooow! There’s so many ships!

「旗艦のレウルーラは?」
Guy: Where’s their flagship, the Rewloola?

フォウ
「後方にいるわ」
Four: It’s in the back.

アムロ
「妙だな…。
カメラはロングサイズでしか撮影してないし、
砲身もないように見える」
Amuro: Odd... They never show us any close-ups and I don’t see any gun barrels.

「まさか…」
Guy: You don’t mean...

アムロ
「ダミーだな」
Amuro: They’re dummy ships.

シオン
「どういうことなんだ?」
Shion: What does that mean?

カミーユ
「お前にもわかるように言うと、巨大な風船だ」
Kamille: Put in a way you’d understand, they’re basically giant balloons.

シオン
「ってことは、本物は…」
Shion: Then that would mean the real ones are...

「アクシズに向かっている。おそらく、シャアもな」
Amuro: On their way to Axis. And Char probably is too.

カミーユ
「アムロ大尉…!」
Kamille: Lieutenant Amuro...!

アムロ
「俺はブライトにこのことを伝える。
出港命令が出るぞ、お前達は準備をしておけ」
Amuro: I’ll tell bright about this. We’ve already gotten orders to leave port, so the rest of you should get ready.

カミーユ
「はい!」
Kamille: Right!

『逆襲の始まり』
Episode 98
The Counterattack Begins


(Scene begins on a map screen of Luna II. Adenauer is in a Clop-class Federation battleship. Several other Clops and Jegans are on the map. Several Musakas and the Rewloola are on the opposite end of the map.)

アデナウアー
「艦隊が来たか。
数もスウィート・ウォーター発進時と同じだ。
シャアは約束を守ってくれたな」
Adenauer: Their fleet has arrived. And their numbers remain the same as when they left Sweetwater. Char’s been true to his word.

ナナイ
「こちらの思惑には
まだ気付いていないようですね」
Nanai: It doesn’t look like they’ve caught onto us yet.

ネオ・ジオン艦長
「ああ、呑気なものだ」
Neo Zeon Captain: Yes, they don’t suspect a thing.

ナナイ
「礼を重んじているのでしょう。
しかし、それが命取りになる」
Nanai: We should respect them for their etiquette. But it will be their doom.

アデナウアー
「シャアの出迎えを。
くれぐれも失礼のないようにな」
Adenauer: We need to welcome Char. Don’t show him any discourtesy.

ネオ・ジオン艦長
「攻撃開始だな」
Neo Zeon Captain: Commence the attack.

ナナイ
「モビルスーツ部隊は砲撃開始後に出撃!」
Nanai: Have the Mobile Suit teams launch after the bombardment begins!

(The Neo Zeon fleet attacks, destroying some of the Federation forces.)

アデナウアー
「馬鹿な!条約違反だ!!」
Adenauer: It can’t be! They’re violating the treaty!!

(Gyunei, Quess, and other Neo Zeon MS appear.)

ギュネイ
「クェス、実戦の空気を感じるだけでいいんだ。
ついて来い」
Gyunei: You need to get a taste of real combat, Quess. Stick with me.

クェス
(ナナイにあたしの力を見せつけてやる…!)
Quess: (I’m gonna show Nanai what I can do...!)

(They attack and destroy all but Adenauer’s ship.)

アデナウアー
「か、回避を!急げ!!」
Adenauer: E-Evade! Hurry!!

クェス
「あれが旗艦ね!あたしがやる!」
Quess: That’s their flagship! I’ll get it!

(Quess moves up.)

ギュネイ
「クェス、前に出るな!」
Gyunei: Quess, don’t go out in front!

アデナウアー
「何!?敵!?」
Adenauer: What!? An enemy!?

クェス
「落ちちゃえーっ!!」
Quess: Down you go!!

(Quess attacks Adenauer’s ship.)

アデナウアー
「うわああああっ!!」
Adenauer: Uwaaaaagh!!

(Adenauer’s ship blows up.)

クェス
「やった!」
Quess: I did it!

ギュネイ
「クェス、前に出過ぎるな!」
Gyunei: Quess, you’re too far ahead!

クェス
「うっ!?」
Quess: Ah!?

ギュネイ
「どうした!?」
Gyunei: What’s wrong!?

クェス
(う、うう…何でこんなに気持ちが悪いの…!?)
Quess: (U-Ugh... Why do I feel so terrible...!?)

「戦闘ブリッジに入らずに完勝だな」
Neo Zeon Captain: We’ve won without even needing to move to the combat bridge.

ナナイ
「これでルナツーの核を大佐に届けられますね」
Nanai: Now we can deliver Luna II’s nukes to the Captain.

ネオ・ジオン艦長
「ああ、忙しくなるぞ」
Neo Zeon Captain: Yes, that’ll keep us busy.

ナナイ
(大佐、あなたの作戦は完璧です)
Nanai: (Captain, your plan worked flawlessly.)

最初から旗艦に乗ってなかったのか」
Akihiro: So their boss wasn’t on the flagship to begin with.

クルツ
「ああ、騙し討ちだってよ」
Kurz: Yeah, it was surprise attack all along.

マオ
「宇宙軍の拠点がやられたとなると、
この先大変になるわね」
Mao: If they took out the Federation’s Space Forces base, then it’s not looking too good for us from here on out.

ハルト
「もしかして、僕達だけでアクシズを
止めなければならないんですか…?」
Haruto: Does that mean we have to stop Axis all on our own...?

キリコ
「おそらくな」
Chirico: Probably.

サキ
「アクシズが地球に落ちれば、
ハーザの予言が大当たりってわけね」
Saki: If Axis falls to Earth, that would make Haza’s prediction come true.

「…まだそうだと決まったわけじゃないよ」
Kira: ...It’s not set in stone that that’ll happen yet.

「…パイロット各員は、揃っているな」
Bright: ...Are all pilots present and accounted for?

ミサト
「はい」
Misato: Yes.

ブライト
「では、これよりブリーフィングを始める。
諸君らも知っての通り、ネオ・ジオン軍は
ルナツーを占拠した」
Bright: Then we will now begin the briefing. As you are all aware, Neo Zeon forces have taken over Luna II.

ブライト
「そして、あそこに貯蔵されていた核爆弾も
強奪されたと思われる。おそらく、シャアは
それらをアクシズと共に地球を落とすつもりだろう」
Bright: Furthermore, it’s likely they’ve taken the nuclear weapons stored there as well. Char probably intends to drop them down to Earth along with Axis.

シンジ
「そんな…!」
Shinji: No way...!

アスカ
「放射能が蔓延して、
セカンドインパクト以上の惨劇になるわね」
Asuka: With radioactivity spreading as a result, that’d make it even more devastating than Second Impact.

ブライト
「連邦宇宙軍は主力を失い、
各コロニーの駐留軍も暴動を恐れて出て来ない。
よって、我々でアクシズ落下を阻止するしかない」
Bright: The Federation Space Force has lost its main fleet, and the troops stationed at the colonies won’t leave due to fear of a revolt. Therefore, it falls to us to stop Axis.

ブライト
「総員の力を結集し、事に当たってくれ。
なお、これがディバイン・ドゥアーズとして
最初の大掛かりな作戦となる」
Bright: I want all of you to work together and make this operation a success. This will be our first major operation as Divine Doers.

「ディバイン…?何、それ?」
Mikazuki: Divine...? What’s that?

「以前から募集していた、私達の部隊の総称よ。
意味は、神聖なる実行者」
Misato: It’s the group name we decided on based on the suggestions we received before. It means we’re people who perform holy deeds.

Ryoma: Pretty extravagant name.

「これから私達がやらなければならないことを
踏まえた上での決定よ」
Misato: It was decided on after taking into account what we’ll be doing from here on.

Akira: What, we gonna take God’s place and bring peace to the worlds?

Heinel: Such as?

「ネオ・ジオン軍が大型の小惑星にも
戦力を集結させておりまして…
それを地球へ落とす可能性があります」
Katherine: The Neo Zeon forces are amassing around a large asteroid... There’s a chance they may plan to drop it on Earth.

ハイネル
「一度ならず二度までも…。
母星を自らの手で滅ぼそうとは
つくづく愚かな連中だな」
Heinel: Attempting to do so once was not enough for them, I see... I cannot fathom how foolish these humans to be that they seek to destroy their home world with their own hands.

「ボルテス共はそれを阻止するために
宇宙へ行ったのですな」
Jangal: Voltes and the others have gone to space to stop them, haven’t they?

「彼奴らが潰し合いをするなら、尚更好都合。
双方が疲弊したところを叩く。さすれば、
皇帝陛下に良い報告が出来よう」
Heinel: It would be even more favorable if the two of them weakened the other through battle. Once both sides are exhausted, it will be a simple task to crush them. That will finally allow us to present the Emperor with good news.

オケアノスを向かわせます」
Misato: Then, Captain. We’ll send the Archangel and the Oceanus toward them, as we planned.

Bright: Right.

「ブライト、問題が起きた」
Amuro: There’s a problem, Bright.

Bright: What is it?

Amuro: ...You want to see Quess, don’t you, Hathaway?

「クェスを取り戻すんです!」
Hathaway: I’m going to get Quess back!

必ずシャアに利用される。無理だよ」
Amuro: ...That girl’s unique gift is her sensitivity, and Char’s taking advantage of that. You won’t beat him.

Hathaway: Taking advantage of her!? No way!

そんな男に利用されるクェスも、死んだ者の力に
引かれて悲惨な結末に…」
Amuro: He dares to change the world by destroying lives. That’s the kind of man who’s controlling Quess. To please him, she’ll risk greater and greater danger until--

「クェスは死にません!その前に取り戻します!」
Hathaway: Quess isn’t going to die! I’ll bring her back before that happens!

Amuro: With an attitude like that, you’ll end up dead yourself.

Hathaway: Still!

「ハサウェイ、お前は士官室に入っていろ。
頭が冷えるまでな」
Bright: Hathaway, go to the officer’s quarters and stay there. At least until you’ve cooled off.

Torres: Spatial distortion phenomenon detected at 8 o’clock, elevation 20!

「まさか、ゲートなの!?」
Misato: It’s not a Gate, is it!?

トーレス
「いえ、反応が違います!
複数の高熱源体が出現しました!」
Torres: No, this is a different reading! Multiple high energy heat signatures are coming out!

「何者かわかるか?」
Bright: Can we identify them?

トーレス
「待って下さい…!
照合するデータあり!ボアザン軍です!!」
Torres: One moment...! We have matching data! Their Boazanian forces!!

「8時方向だと、ルナツーからの
ネオ・ジオン艦隊へ向かうコース上…!」
Misato: 8 o’clock, that’s right on our course for the Neo Zeon fleet coming from Luna II...!

トーレス
「ボアザン軍、こちらへ向かって来ます!」
Torres: The Boazanian forces are coming toward us!

ブライト
「やむを得ん、全艦で迎撃するぞ!」
Bright: There’s no other choice, all ships, intercept them!

(Scene changes to a map screen of space. Belgan is on the map with several Boazanian mechs. The players team, the battleships, and Voltes V are on the map.)

「いきなり彼奴らと遭遇するとはな。
ズールから報告は受けていたが、
その力を直々に試してやろう」
Belgan: To think I would encounter them so suddenly. I’ve received reports about them from Zuhl, but I’d like to test their strength personally.

日吉
「こんな所でボアザン軍と出くわすなんて!」
Hiyoshi: Why’d we have to run into Boazanian forces here!?

健一
「ワープアウトして来たということは、
ボアザン本星からの援軍なのか…!?」
Kenichi: If they came out of a warp, does that mean they’re reinforcements from the Boazanian home planet...!?

ブライト
「ここで足止めをされるわけにはいかん!
早急にボアザン軍を撃退しろ!」
Bright: We can’t waste time here! Destroy the Boazanian forces as quickly as possible!

攻めるでも逃げるでもねえ」
Ippei: They’re acting strange. They aren’t attacking us, but they aren’t running away either.

「何が狙いなのかわからないが、
ここで時間を掛けるわけにはいかない!
一気に叩くぞ!」
Kenichi: I dunno what their aim is here, but we can’t waste anymore time! Let’s take them down all at once!

Bright: All units, focus on shooting down the enemy flagship!

Belgan: I have a good grasp of what they can do now. It’s time to withdraw.

Bright: Do we still have time to stop the Neo Zeon fleet coming from Luna II?

Torres: No, it’s impossible, sir.

Kei: This is turning out exactly like Char wants...!

「艦長、こうなったら全艦でアクシズへ
向かうしかありません」
Misato: Captain, now that it’s come to this, we need to take all of our ships to Axis itself.

Belgan: I have also brought valuable supplies with me as well. With this, the invasion of Earth will proceed much faster.

だが、事前に連絡をしなかった理由は何だ?」
Heinel: You have my gratitude for providing us with military provisions. Nonetheless I must ask; for what reason were we not informed of your arrival beforehand?

「皇帝陛下からの勅命ですので。
そちらが聞き及んでおらずとも
何ら不思議なことではございません」
Belgan: It was an order directly from His Majesty. It is no surprised that you heard nothing of it until now.

「では、この地球の状況も聞いておろう。
貴公が思っているほど、簡単に侵略は進まぬぞ」
Katherine: You must have heard of the difficulties we have faced regarding Earth. Its conquest will not proceed as smoothly as you seem to believe it will.

「実はここへ来る前、彼奴らと一戦交えましてな。
その力が報告通りかと思い、この目で確かめて
みましたが…大したことはありませんでしたな」
Belgan: Actually, I happened to engage them myself before coming here. I wanted to determine for myself if their power was as great as the reports had described... But it was most certainly overstated.

ジャンギャル
「貴様、何と失礼な物言いを!
それにハイネル様の報告を疑うなど、言語道断!」
Jangal: How dare you speak so disrespectfully! And to question Prince Heinel’s report is outrageous!

ベルガン
「ほう、私を斬るおつもりかな?
さあ、お斬りなさい、スッパリと!
だが、斬れますかな?」
Belgan: Oh, do you intended to cut me down with that sword? By all means, strike true and slice me to ribbons! But, can you?

「何だと!?」
Jangal: What!?

「もっとも、ジャンギャル殿の剣が
この鎧を貫けばの話だが」
Belgan: I am asking if your sword, Sir Jangal, can penetrate my armor.

ジャンギャル
「言わせておけば…やあああっ!」
Jangal: How dare you...! YAAAAH!

(Jangal attacks and his sword breaks.)

何者にも敗れたことのない、この剣が…!」
Jangal: M-My sword...! My sword, which has never failed to find its mark, was...!
