When we spoke last time, I told you I was uncertain about my future and what job I'd like to do. Well, guess what. We went to a job fair from school and I found the perfect job for me, tour guide. I chose it because, I've always been interested in exploring Los Angeles and I know a lot about it. If I were a tour guide, it would enable me to teach other people about what I love and that is great.
The great thing is I get to see all my favorite celebrities' homes. Sometimes you can even get a glimpse of their private lives. It's so exciting.
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to wake up early in the morning, even on saturdays. And from what I've heard, the tourists can be really mean sometimes. Also to get hired you need to know a lot about the history and culture of the city and a few languages, which shouldn't be a problem for me.
I sat down at a presentation about being a tour guide at the fair and they talked about how a typical day in the profession goes. Apparently, most days you have to guide at least 4 tours, which can get repetitive and exhausting really quick. But, the good thing is, you get a 30 minute lunch break and most tours last only 45 minutes. After that you're free to go home.
So, what do you think ? Would being a tour guide fit me ?
